Matisyahu - Still Worse Than Rock Star Supernova

The HOchies concert year ended on a lowlamp in 2006 thanks to MC and Matisyahu.

2007 began with Or 2 going to see Supernova. The very same Supernova made popular by the reality tv series, "Rock Star". Before you all pass judgment, let it be known that this was not Or 2's choice.

Still, it wasn't a horrible show. At least the opening acts were not horrid. Dilana and Magni (and some dude from Dilana's band, whose name I forget) performed an acoustic set which was decent times.

Australian band, Juke Kartel featuring Toby (a contestant on "Rock Star Supernova" performed as well. Although I cannot remember any song that stood out, Toby himself was hilarious, so that was forgiveable.

The Panic Channel were better than anticipated. Although, I'm still fairly unimpressed (and far from being crazy over them like that Aims, and Steve's no where near as cool as Trent Reznor - yes, you can totally gather this from the picture I've taken), it's good to see a good guitarist put down some riffs like nobody's buisness. I mean, he's no Tom Morello but Dave's pretty good...

It was really late once Supernova took the stage. I could have done without the repetitive 'heartfelt' speech Lucas kept giving about how he was nothing and he thanks his fans for making his dreams come true, but I did rather enjoy Sandy Cheeks' gushing over her boy and her jubilant calls of "Luuuuccaaaasss" from the side.

As a whole, I don't think they were fantastic and quite frankly the least entertaining of those who performed that night (because you know, damned Jason Newsted had to go hurt himself and was unable to tour...curse you! Sorry Gilby, Tommy and Black Crowes bassist, but you just weren't) but the light show did blind me a great deal.

That and Tommy Lee with pink tie sans shirt.

Sadly, we had to leave during Tommy's solo set because it was just too damned late and I had a train to catch but I'll say it again -

MC, you owe me.

Matisyahu: still the worst concert ever.
