Happy Birthday!
Happy Birthday to TD5 and Bughie J.!!!!
Was there cake this day? Lo Mein with pork? (on that I can be assured that TD5 had some) or maybe a cat meowing at your door at wee hours in the morning? Surely there only to wish you a Happy Birthday and surely not in some sort of twisted, evil cat plan?
Whatever happened, we hope it was a wonderful day.

That Jerk-Face
That there is my new favourite video, provided to me thanks to Beetchie.
Here's the memorable conversation of the day that was spawned from it:
Bughie J.: Ha, I've done that. Sorry Yoshi. See, there's so many yoshis though, they overrun the mushroom kingdom. You're doing them a favor
Or 2: I don't think H1 is laughing with you.
Bughie J.: I tell you what's not funny... a million yoshis starving to death because of overpopulation!
H1: there are MORE than enough mushrooms for Yoshi to eat
Bughie J.: but Yoshis don't eat mushrooms! they eat some kind of berry or fruit... and also koopas and goombas and little monkeys. Now maybe the monkeys were spitting watermelon seeds at the Yoshis, and that might have factored into it a bit but still. Those Yoshis are of voracious appetite. An ecological menace!
H1: that's what bughie had to say. Yoshis eat mushrooms. Out of an abundance of P.C., the Nintendo guys have not shown that since they are being sensitive to the popularity of Toads. But really, Yoshis are like the Chinese. They eat everything.
Bughie J.: hmm, all the more reason to thin the herd? before we know it America will belong to the Yoshis like it belongs to China now!

Happy Birthday!!!!!!
Bad kids that we are, although in my defense, I was really busy that day, we forgot to wish Momma HO Happy Birthday on the blog on the 20th. So, Happy Belated Birthday! You got presents so stop being ungrateful!
Today is the 26th, and there are wishes to spread around!
Birthday wishes to TD5, who is here with us again for Thanksgiving (and always should be, as I have stressed before)! We hope you really enjoyed South Pacific.
Birthday wishes to Bughie J.! What did Wimplebee get you? I'm sure it was not blubber-related. Where would he get such a thing?

Assed Out
Thanks, NIN.
Thanks.
Well, I'm one step closer to saying that I never saw Nine Inch Nails live in the history of their career.
If not for Gen' Frien', I would be completely assed out but can someone explain to me how a show that is supposed to go on sale at 5 PM sells out 1 minute before 5?
I witnessed this shit myself and was one of the unlucky ones to NOT get a ticket.
Pen me in a waiting area only to deny me tickets after release, why don't you?!
Stinkin' Friggin' NIN!
Anyway, due to being 'mizzled', I have another shot at getting tickets to Terminal 5 which I now know is NOT in Brooklyn (please...don't judge).
I just really want to see the Horrors too.
Meh.
Anyways, wish me luck on 7/31/2009 even though I'm not getting my hopes up at all.
Memorable Reminders to buy tickets courtsey of Bughie J.:

I expect more reminders on July 31st, Bughie J. of songs from The Downward Spiral.
Oh, and I hope you don't mind I published your work without your consent, just as I'm sure Trent R. wouldn't mind your playful bastardization of his work.

The 5 Necessities!
Wao.
This is a checklist for Bughie J.
I am not to buy anything for the next three months while my credit card gets paid off and I save some more monies.
Thus, he has been tasked with reminding me not to spend on anything unless it's one of 5 necessities:
bread, water, toilet paper, muse and arctic monkeys!
Currently listening to: "Perhaps Vampires is a Bit Strong But..." by Arctic Monkeys.
Eaten today: Taiwanese style fried pork chop. Wait...that was unnecessary! Whoops.

Avast, Ye Scurvy Dawgs!
What's with the talk of pirates lately?
Who knew pirates of the High Seas existed?
This just goes to show that certain parts of the world are still cutlassin' over some gold (and suga'cane?) and it is scary.
Don't they know pirating's only reserved for the Internet now? And that stealing from the rich to give to the rich is called "CAPITALISM"?
Serious business these pirates, but it turns out I've been doing a bit of pirating myself these days.
While not on the High Seas, I have taken to stealing from my dawgs to give to myself and H1.
That's right, I declare my Frenemies' Mario Coins in the Name of the HOchieS!
Thus far, I've collected booty from Bughie J. and Aims.
It might be that they'll benefit from my piracy in the long run but that is only due to the fact that I am not a very good pirate.
In fact, I believe the great Pirate Bughie J. somehow managed to trick me into giving him my Club Nintendo login information without my realising my folly!
And that is why he managed to plunder Trinidad in the not so distant past.

Crippling Lucca's Mother...Again.
Replaying Chrono Trigger, makes me realise (and Bughie J., I'm sure) that I don't remember much about one of the greatest games I have ever played.
I know it's great because everyone says so, and I did play it almost ten years ago and enjoyed...so why did I just not remember anything about the story?
I guess I was just not paying that close attention and was probably too wrapped up in acquiring that asshole that I adore Magus and being depressed when Bughie J. led me to kill him. On purpose, I might add.
Whatever the reason, I'm once again (of that I'm sure) thoroughly enjoying my replay of this fabulous game on the DS.
I set it to classic mode because DS mode just became way too confusing for my little brain, but the point is - what an incredible, complex story!
The characters are loveable but the story line and attention to details is just absolutely amazing.
It's got everything a person could want! It's got heart, an awesomely timeless soundtrack, time travel, gurus, a festival, comedy, Taban (everything's your fault, ass!), Tata, a nerd, a princess no one could possibly want other than to hate, a pre-historic bad-assed cave woman, a gorf, an asshole prophet, Ozzie, Flea, Slash, a robo, a crono...and a mop!
A mop that I stole!
Make that, a mop that I charmed off the back of some Nu. I was told that this Nu needs it to sweep his flat, so I'll give it back but I keep getting headbutt.
I suppose Nu don't forgive that easily when they've been wronged...uh, charmed.
It also has lots of something a person does not need, and that's heartache.
I'm sorry Lucca's Mom.
Luckily for you, I didn't save and will try again tomorrow.

Happy Thanksgiving or Is It?
Beware the Gobblor!
It's that time of year again.
There were at least 2 sightings of the ferocious Gobblor this week. Grainy television footage showed that he was vapourizing cities of people in his quest to rid humans and their desire to feast upon turkeys.
Footage and screen shots provided by Bughie J.

Welcome to the The HOchieS Thanksgiving Layout 2008 giving press once more to Gobblor, for the turkey scratched demand letters began pouring in again sometime last week as a reminder that he'll be lurking if we didn't do some sort of featurette.
Newsflash Update!
There is new footage and apparently the true intentions of Gobblor have been revealed!
This year we're to inform you of his eveeel plot...involving a mall...?
Eep! It seems Gobblor's trying to ruin Black Friday (or give new meaning to the term "Black Friday" as Gobblor has a twisted sense of humour)! Way to kick us humans down, when we're tragically faced with a recession but trying to have a Merry Christmas regardless.
Thanks, Gobblor. Thanks.

Happy Birthday, Bughie!
"Silly Poem for Bughie"
I wonder why
the butterflies
flutter so happily
in September?
Could it be
that those silly
little flutterbees
remember
when a certain
special Bugh
made her
world debut
and how she's
always made
the world
a little better too?
And I wonder why
the trees begin
to dream of wearing
rarer colors
around this time?
Is it to celebrate
the exclamation point
at the end of summer,
that bold little circle
your friends and family
make around the 6th
of September?
I wonder too why clouds
always save some
of their bestest shapes
for September afternoons?
How they drift in lines
across the sky,
a kinda sorta impromptu
parade just for you.
And is it me, or do
the September stars
seem to sparkle clearer
when they arrange
their Virgo constellations,
as if each were a tiny elation
of the great big cosmos,
because you're one of their
favorite creations?
Maybe it's just a dream,
but dreams are nice too,
and we hope that you like
this one we spun for you…

Happy Birthday Wishes To A Monkey and a Bitch
Heh Heh.
Happy Birthday, Bughie J.!!!! I hope you had great joy today and that you got a wii. Unfortunately, Amazon did not smile upon me and grant me the purchase of one at $79.00. I was so hoping to get that for you. =,(
I trust Mr. Wimplebee curled upon your head for your special day.
Happy Birthday, TD5!!!!
We missed you terribly this Thanksgiving and we miss you for your birthday. It's been five years since you've not spent it with us and well, I didn't get to toss your present at you. I guess I'll have to toss it at you with your Christmas things.
We will call you soon.
Much love to you both!

The Tale of Gobblor
There's not much to tell, really, since I don't know much about him. All I know from the bits of tale heard from Bughie J is that he is a Turkey bent on revenge on all those who devour turkeys on Thanksgiving. Until such time when all have been obliterated, Gobblor will not sleep nor will he rest.
This rendition of Gobblor, featured as the star on our Thanksgiving blog layout is thanks to Bughie J., who has seen the beast in person, forever immortalizing Gobblor with a very accurate drawing, he assures me, and a few computer digitalized burning buildings to enhance the severity of the carnage Gobblor can and will bring in the future.
Please do not inquire as to where Bughie J. saw said Gobblor, as I am sure such a painful recollection would be painful for him to recollect.
I certainly did not inquire because I'm sympathetic.
Gobblor has since sent turkey-scratched etched letters on slightly burnt paper to our attention, stating that he is pleased that he is receiving "free press" on The HOchieS' blog.
I am scared of him, so I will adhere to his demands (also etched in various letters) that he will remain the 'mascot' until after Thanksgiving.
Enjoy the new blog layout of fall colours and a Thanksgiving Turkey bent on destruction, or I guarantee we will be killed - so says Demand 2 of 47.
Currently listening to: "Serial Thrilla'" by Prodigy and "10,000 Days (Wings, Part 2)" by Tool. (Please note these are not Turkey Wings)

Which Sesame Street Characters Are We Most Like?
A scarf started this entire discussion.
TheHOchies present:
Which Sesame Street Characters Are TheHOchies and Friends Most Like?
note: this list can be amended and recommendations are welcome but not necessarily accepted. =)
HOchie 1:
Preposterous Puppy
Oscar the Grouch's puppy who surprisingly, is even more of a grouch than Oscar. But who can deny the cuteness when he chews the cud and occasionally tries to bite all that touch him?
Or 2:
I haven't decided yet who I am most like... the only things I could think of was the Shark that jumped into Bert's & Ernie's boat after Bert called for him or the pink bottle cap with the black star that Bert has in his collection. I know. Weak.
Medium Budgie
Wilemmina
"Wuh Wuh Wuh!!! W is for Wilemmina!" Because what else could W stand for? Certainly not something ridiculous like "Wesley". Preposterous! Uh, HOchie 1!
X:
Remember that girl with the scarf over her head? The little vagabond who longingly gazed at Cookie Monster's cookies as he ate it? "Share?". And when CM finally did, that cookie was gone like nobody's buisness!!!! "Nyumm Yumm Nyumm grra rraa nyumm" SCARY! But so X... ahahahahahahahaha.
MC:
Grover
Quote HOchie 1: Grover is black. And Mitch is black.
SF:
Telly
Honestly, do I REALLY need to go into any sort of explanation?
Beetchie:
The Letter Q
Man 1 "That's a funny looking thing."
Man 2 "No it isn't, it's the letter Q."
Man 1 "Hmm, I still say it's a funny looking thing."
Man 2 "YOU'RE a funny looking thing."
Yep, that's Beetchie - a funny looking thing. Har Har.
Ah, so wrong yet so right on so many levels...
The Bughie
Travis Traveling!
Travis Traveling likes to travel! On a unicycle, no less. I'm not sure how this relates to the Bughie but it does. It's not the fact that he travels on a unicycle and any other form of transportation but he's so knowledgeable, that Travis Traveling. That is the character that comes to mind.
