H1: She's okay. Mostly.

H1 went off to Bim this week, and took Luuuuiiiiiisssss and BH with her to visit X, Mk, Mw, and Moodou.

So far they've had one day at the pool in the sun, and one day at the beach in the rain.  Hopefully today will be better on the beach and sun front.  She's doing okay, you know except for the part where she is ridiculous.

Memorable Conversations of the Past 2 Days:

H1 on phone: It turns out...I am definitely allergic to watermelon! It's not just U.S. watermelon either!
Or 2: Uh...what?
H1: Yeah! It's happening in Barbados too!
Or 2: ... you are so ridiculous!

next day...

H1 on phone: Hewwo
Or 2: Hi...why do you sound stuffy? Are you sick?
H1: No, I have fruit in my mouth.
Or 2: Uh huh...what fruit are you eating?!
H1: Watermelon...apples, ::munch:: oranges
Or 2: Stop eating the watermelon!!!!
H1: I can't help it! It's so good!

DJ SoB

With the new DJ Hero video game coming out, it reminded me that I had a conversation with our very own MC earlier this year about choosing a DJ name for himself.

Some things, especially when they involve MC, should not be kept to myself.

I apologise to all in advance.

Or 2: Ahoy hoy
MC: Greetings. Happy Spiritual Baptist Day.
Or 2: Oh. You have another unwarranted day off today, do you. Stupid island. Happy SBD to you as well.
MC: Unwarranted?
Or 2: Whatever. Is there is a Chinese arrival day?
MC: Excuse me. We work hard for our holidays,
Or 2: what? you baptist?
MC: They didn't want one. Stupid Chinese
Or 2: because they understand the value of work! no work means no money!
MC: We could have had another holiday, but nooo they want to keep their damn parlors and grocery stores open. btw I found my DJ name. DJ BroHo
Or 2: BroHo? you're not a Ho
MC: CLee came up with the name
Or 2: Clee needs a slap
MC: But I'm a Brotha to the Hos, As such. I am DJ Bro HO
Or 2: there are honourary hos that is sure, but you may have become dishonourable as of late
MC: Whatever, you have no rights over the Ho name
Or 2: excuse me
MC: I shall be from this day forth be known as
DJ
Bro
Ho
Or 2: How about..DJ Stoopid? har har. DJ BH. DJ BM
MC: BM?
Or 2: for Brother Mitch
MC: ooohhhh I likes even better although its Brotha. Hopefully people don't think its stands for bowel movement and think I'm full of it
Or 2: sorry, Brotha' Mitch. That's exactly what I was thinking
MC: I know. Beeyatch
Or 2: MC BroHo. MC BAM! Brotha Andy Mitch. MC BRAM. DJ BAM, sorry
MC: DJ Bram. DJ Bam. I am loving this. Screw BroHo. DJ Bramalam. Lambam. DJ BLAM
Or 2: DJ Bram. Bramalam? you trying to reach out to our indian bros and hos? in an insulting way?
MC: No. Why would I want to reach out to them. har. DJ Bra
Or 2: DJ Bra. yeah, that could work too. kind of liking DJ Bram though. You know, having only recently found out what that is
MC: nahhh. Oh my word. So displaced are you and that is such a common Jamaican term. I would think you'd be up on it
Or 2: what? i don't know what you're talking about. i know nothing of Jamaicans. we could name you after food. Drop the DJ. be just Solo Bentley
MC: hahahahahaha. DJ Solo. Solo B
Or 2: DJ SoB
MC: oohh goosh. yeah yeah. SoB
Or 2: SoB in da' hous'! yeah
MC: yeaaaahhhhh. in da hizzle
Or 2: har har. and years after you've made your career as DJ SoB, and the fanfare is dying down; I'll circulate the true story behind the name. Named after Solo Bentley. not really hardcore, hence the fizzling out fate
MC: ahahahaha. A VH1 special no less
Or 2: yep, the corniest behind the music eva'. if Frass became one, he'd be DJ Zoomers
MC: ahahaha. He'd never make it with that name
Or 2: I'd be DJ Milk Penna Cool. i know, poor Frass. CLee would be DJ Zinger.
MC: Milk Penna Cool???? You too would crash and burn. rather melt
Or 2: I'd shorten it and switch it up. DJ Penny Milk.
Or 2: How about Milky Cool
Or 2: hmm, yeah yeah
MC: Or DJ Cool Milky P
Or 2: X.. hmm, DJ NibaNug
MC: or Milp
Or 2: ew
MC: What is that? ahahahahahaha
Or 2: nibble a nuggle
MC: I'm now rereading. Yeah Milky Pee not so much
Or 2: aha, yeah that's greatness but gross. DJ Nuggle - nibbling up the rhymes and spittin' them right back at ya. That'd be X's slogan
MC: Oh no. I like X's slogan though. funny as all hell. What will be H1's name? DJ Toolum
Or 2: oo, you asking to get hurt
MC: ahahaha
Or 2: DJ Soursop
MC: Ughh. That party will buss
Or 2: how come nobody's DJ Doubles
MC: or DJ Aloo
Or 2: yeah that too. X could be that as well. DJ Aloo. Maybe TD5? DJ Chicky Pea! DJ Channa

More Than Meets The Eye

Memorable Conversation (with picture to follow)

Or 2: I have to show you something, TD5. I forgot to ask Frass about this. The tour poster for Sasha Fierce is just the most...horrible thing, I've seen! Her makeup's weird and she has handles...
TD5: What is it?
Or 2: It's a bike dress or something.
TD5: Is she a transformer?
Or 2: Uhh...well...
TD5: No, what you're telling me is that she's a transformer!

::shows picture::

TD5: OMG!

So yeah, seriously Frass...what the eff.

March 2: Snowed In and A Conversation with MC

Our train abandoned us this snowy day, and while it should have been fun times trying to sleep the time away, MC had to make an appearance this morning to nasty up the day -

MC: Granny tried to do me in this weekend. She cooked shrimp all mixed up in curried potatoes and stuff.

Or 2: Uh oh. I guess like X, she was trying to give you up for lent too. Sad.

MC: As I put it to my mouth, I'm like WTF. When asked she said "You still allergic to that". What have I done to deserve this?

Or 2: 'still allergic'? Ahahahahahahahaha.

MC: X needs to give up her Amy Winehouseness for lent

Or 2: I think she may have...wait. no. That's not true. How did you not recognize the shrimp though?

MC: I was starving and didn't look at what I was eating; not uncommon for all my eating activities. heh heh heh.

Or 2: That'll learn you

Nervous

Tomorrow's the day.

The HOchieS will wake at 5 AM or so, to go vote in our first Presidential Election.

I got an e-mail reminder today, as if there was any chance I could forget or perhaps it was an order -

Next Tuesday we will elect the next President of the United States. The result will have great consequences for the nation.

This election offers a choice is between two men with dramatically different visions of the future. We have strong feelings about this choice. But we feel even more strongly that all Americans, regardless of political preference, have a stake in the outcome and should vote in this critical election.

This is likely to be a close election. Your vote matters. Please use it and make a difference.

Sincerely,
Trent Reznor

Memorable Conversation of the Day:

Or 2: Did you also get mail from Trent this morning telling you to vote?
Gen: Ha. No. He sent out a message? That is funny.
::upon reading the e-mail I forwarded::
Gen: Haha. I wonder if he will make electronic calls too, with a beat in the background, "Hi. This is Trent Reznor"...

Keeping Track of Shady Buisness II

This time, we're monitoring the situation with Pongsri and Good Humour Ice-Cream Trucks.

A lunch less Thursday it was, so H1 and I ordered from Pongsri. The food arrived quickly but when H1 answered the phone, it went something like this -

Delivery Guy: You have food delivery downstairs.
H1: OK, I'll meet you in the messenger center (the place we're supposed to go to for food deliveries)
DG: You want to meet in the messenger center?!
H1: Yeah...
DG: No, I meet you downstairs on 48 Street.
H1: No, we'll get yelled at. We're supposed to meet at the messenger center for food pick ups!
DG: No! I'll be OUTSIDE the doors, on the street. 48.
H1: ::disgruntled:: Fine!

So we went downstairs and conducted shady buisness of our own. There was the guy, on his bicycle on the sidewalk, barely obscured behind the building.

Why are most Asians always so shady? Time is money, I guess.

The other shady occurrence today happened this afternoon when X and I were lounging in the living room.

Or 2: Oo! You hear that?! An ice-cream truck!
X: Oo!
Or 2: I wonder if it's a Mister Softee!

As we were pondering this, the truck had stopped somewhere up the street. Then we heard a familiar sound.

X and Or 2, to each other: Ummm, you hear that right? Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer?!
X: What the hell is up with that truck?! Why would an ICE-CREAM truck ever have the need to play that song?!

Memorable Conversations and Quote of the Day:

Momma HOchie: You are the Queen of Mean!
X: Oooo! I always wanted to be a Queen! At least I can be the Queen of something!

H1, on a facebook super poke discussion: If anyone throws Michael Phelps at me, I'll vomit.

Or 2, on a picture of Michael Phelps: I'd think those ears of his would keep him back in the water.
H1: Yeah... they're not streamlined.

Bigfoot, Not Be Confused With TenderFoot

It was reported in the news yesterday that two guys from GA have discovered Bigfoot and a den where others of its kind live. They had a press conference yesterday on the subject as well. Bunji was the first to break the news to me and the rest is as follows -

Memorable Conversations of the Day-

Bunji: Did you hear about the guys who found Bigfoot?
Or 2: No, really?
Bunji: Yeah, Angel doesn't believe but I think it could be.
Or 2: Yeah, like Nessie.
Bunji: NESSIE?! THERE'S NO NESSIE!!!!!!
Or 2: WHAT?! You believe in Bigfoot but not Nessie?! If they could find a freakin' coelocanth then why not Nessie?!
Bunji: What's a coelocanth?
Or 2: ...

Later on (right before the press conference)-

Bunji: I think this is just some kind of prank from what's his name Borat. Sacha...
Or 2: Sacha Cohen. Yeah, this could be some kind of huge movie promo.

After the press conference -

Or 2: Here are the photos. They look really fake to me and as per usual, there's a fuzzy shot that maybe it looks better in hand but I can't see a thing. The reporters had a field day with those two guys and one of them was really belligerent.

Bunji (after inspecting said photos): Yeah really. It's fake. There's a house in the background!

Or 2: Bunji says there's a house in the background. I'm not sure how he saw that but he says there were other photos somewhere, probably the guy's website.
H1: Wha'? That doesn't mean it's fake, it's their house! Bigfoot's gotta live somewhere.
Or 2: Apparently DNA testing came back so far as 1 as a human, and two taken from the intestine as 'possum'. So apparently Bigfoot eats Possum. Who knew?
H1: I wouldn't be surprised. Trinidadians eat possum.
Or 2: What are you trying to say?! Trinidadians are Bigfoot?!

I've a question...

What does one even call a collection of 'bigfoot' creatures? Bigfeet?

Freebie Thursday

It's good to get what you want by not having to 'borrow it as a permanent loan' from the metro north.

As we reached the top of the escalator at Grand C., I heard a familiar sound. Excitedly I rushed ahead of H1 and collected my freebies,

a mini-sized circular thing of the poster I've had my eye on for about a month and a chap stick that says Burn Notice on it.

Added to the Monk tissue we got one day, we've now got two USA Original Series items. Sad? Hardly. Those shows are goo'd times and the items are rather practical!
Goodness knows I'll never use them to preserve the awesomeness but meh...

Memorable Conversations & Quotes of Today:

X: You know, I saw your poster and tried to get it but it was stuck down. I hope you know people were looking at me like I was crazy.
Or 2: Thanks for looking crazy for me, X.

Chrissy Lee: My white clothes were soaked because of mildew from the room flooding but why didn't my mom think that the coloured clothes would get mildew as well? As if mildew is racist and only likes white.

Alex: Two Dim Don't Make It Bright.

Things Seen and Eaten Today in NYC

It's July. I forgot to do the rabbit/hare business this month until 8 hours after the start but I think we'll be okay.

Today we saw some assholes trying to jack the Batmobile.

Adam West must have been cranky but then again, it was a leggy, leggy, leggy, leggy/blondie blondie blondie blondie/leggy blonde

Hoop, Leggy Blonde, you got it goin' on
Wanna see you wearin' that thong thong thong
See you gettin' down till the break of dawn
*Mumble mumble mumble*
Panties on

...Uh, I digress. It was a leggy blonde who eventually sat in the front seat so I'm sure Adam West, I mean, Bruce Wayne would not have minded.

We ended to day eating at Dinosaur in the good company of Beetchie, Alex, Chrissy Lee, and Luuuiisss. Of course, the greatness of that is always the plethora of meat, meat and more meat a-like-so!

Fried Green Tomatoes!

Chocolatey Too Sweet Dessert!

Pig Paraphernalia!

Memorable Conversations of the Day!

Beetchie, on the rules of non-serious 'relationships': No cuddling! No Talking! "Why are you trying to talk to me?! ::stink eye:: What's your name?!"

Or 2: B., who would play Alex if a movie were to be made about her life story?
Beetchie: Ummmm... ummmm... Wanda Sykes.
Alex: No, bitch.
Beetchie: Wha'?!
Or 2: Bwahahahahahahaha. No! Her sister says Gabrielle Union.
Beetchie: Ohhhh. I guess I can kinda see it but Wanda's so sarcastic, you know? I just thoug...
Alex: ...Bitch, please!
H1: You know, Alex, Gabrielle Union's just a pretty face.
Alex: Isn't that all I am?!

Goo'd times.

Currently listening to: whatever new song Cold War Kids has on their website. It's awesome but maybe they were influenced a bit by Muse's "Apocalypse Please"? Just a tad? Man, whatever. That new song by CWK is awesome! and I'm actually excited about their album release in September.

Consider It Finished

Now I can move on to the billion and one anime I have to watch. Billion, seven, same difference.

I finished Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core on the train this morning and even after ten years of knowing Zack Fair's fate, I still cried. They just did that boy dirty.

I still love Shinra though.

I still hate Aerith.

God is in his Heaven and all is right with the world.

In other business, I took this picture for Beetchie last week Monday:

If E.P. were there I would have brought her home for you instead, B. In the meanwhile, have some ugly teens in bright yellow track pants and headbands, with hideous mauve sweatshirts that appropriately blend into the Wendy's sign.

My sincerest apologies.

Memorable Conversations of Today:

H1: What's this "Blackle" MC sent to us? Is it real? I find it suspect and maybe even a little bit racist.
Or 2: Yeah, it seems to be legit. I know...why don't you Blackle "Wiki", then Wiki "Blackle"?

On the camouflaged brown bird:

H1: Why is he messing around there by the tootsie pop?
Or 2: That bird is trying to eat the tootsie roll tootsie pop because he too wants to know how many licks it takes to get to the center...
H1: Oh, he's hopping away from it. Even the bird knows how nasty it is.
Or 2: ...Yeah, but now the world may never know...

F.R.: "NIN News: 2 weeks"
Or 2: Until Trent shakes us down for money again?
F.R.: Ha, yeah. That's 15 dollars per song.
Or 2: 36 x 15 is how much now?
D.C.: It's probably "Ghosts" with lyrics.

H1: I should plant a tree today.
Or 2: What.
H1: Eh! Don't mind my hippie buisness! It's Earth Day! I like our earth.
Or 2 & H1 (in unison): Just don't like the people. Hahahahaha.

Happy Earth Day, Bitches.

Want to know what I did today to help out our planet?

I blackled wiki.

Wii Fit? More Like, Wii Fat

The HOchies found out yesterday that the new stay in shape or whatever the hell it is game for the Wii, Wii Fit is going to cost more than the damned console.

At $399.00, the Japanese have reaffirmed that they hate us and wish for us stoopid Americans to die because we are poor and can't afford to be 'fit'.

We're in a recession for eff's sake!

Edit 4/25/08: Clearly, Amazon like to keed because they switched the price. It's $90.00 and has been pre-ordered.

In other gaming news, does anyone have not so fond memories of those weed thingies in Final Fantasy VII? They'd show up in a field on the outskirts of Midgar, sometimes hang out with Chocobos I think, right when you left Midgar for the first time.

I have discovered they are my most hated enemies in Crisis Core. While I often wish they would look like this:

Or even this,

Sadly, this is what they really look like to Zack and by extension, me:

And while that may not be terribly horrendous to those of you who don't understand, I can assure you...they really are the stuff of nightmares. Curse you too, Hysteric Voices!

Finally to end this nerd rant, where are all the effin' fat chocobo feathers when you need them?

Memorable conversations of the past 2 days:

Raisins Alex: This new Pope isn't very "grandfather-ish" like the previous Pope.
Or 2: But at least he's smart. He's refusing a dinner with Bush.
Raisins Alex: Yeah, he knows nothing can absolve that man's sins. 'Gel oulla here, Boosh!!'

Or 2: Notice how the Pope isn't having a mass in Crooklyn?
H1: No one wants to go there.
Or 2: Yeah, but people in Crooklyn probably need the most blessings. Also, he's not going to NJ. As scary as this Pope looks, he really is clever.
H1: Yep, no one wants to go New Jersey either. Even the Pope knows.
Or 2: Yeah, if only bands would realise this too.

Or 2: Mountain Time exists! ::searches wiki:: There. You don’t believe Wiki?! There it is!
H1: I still don't understand it. What places in the world use mountain time? Arizona, it says. They also do not observe daylight savings, but the Hopi Nation within Arizona does, but the Navajo Nation within the Hopi Nation does.
Or 2: They all like to keed!

Currently listening to: "A Punch-Up at a Wedding" by Radiohead and one of my favourite songs ever (I love you Watanuki!! you to a lesser extent, Yuko's Watanuki. heh heh.) "April Fool" by S.E.N.S. Project, from the xxxHOLiC Original TV Soundtrack.

Professor Layton

There are two things I'd like to discuss.

The first is that I am stoopid and Professor Hershel Layton has solidified this once theory.

The second is that Professor Layton is unkind to dogs and matches.

Memorable Quotes of the Week:

"If I drink this Aquadeco water, I will build up an immunity to Canada so when I go there, I won't die." - H1

Or 2: I am too stoopid to play Professor Layton! There was this terrible puzzle involving a dog being run over by a car. It was horrid!
Bughie J.: ack! how can you solve puzzles under those kinds of conditions: solve this puzzle or we'll run over this dog?
Or 2: the dog was already run over. But here's what is really crap. They showed the dog before it got run over by a car. I was supposed to illustrate how it'd look after.
Bughie J.: I do not think I will be playing this game

Or 2's Away Message: Muchas Smooches to all on this Valentine's Day! But not from me, I don't give those.
H1's Response Away Message: Muchas Slaps to Or 2. She accepts those.

H1 and Or 2, after seeing a guy on a bicycle with bright neon green hair, and bright red facial hair cycling his way through the streets of midtown (it was a hideous spectacle),

Or 2: Where's my camera?! Ugh, I can't get it fast enough. It's times like this I wish I had a had a built in camera in my eye. I wish my eye was a camera.
H1: And how would you take pictures?
Or 2: I would take pictures like this

The Quiz Book, The Beetchie, The Frass and The H1 That Keeps on Giving...

...often true/often sketchy results, often shady yet hilariously funny stories, laughs of the hold your head in shame variety, and glares that can kill a man that only leader of the Gotei 13 can give.

In a "see you in 2-5 months, Beetchie! I bid you goo'day!" goo'day, we went adventuring to a new eatery establishment.

It was new to H1 and Frass, "new" to me as I had had that style of goodness in Kyoto last year and "new" to Beetchie who had been drunk the first time when she was in attendance.

Raw meat, fire, good laughs, not so good drinks and vetsin were plentiful at Yakiniku Juju, a Japanese BBQ grill and shabu shabu restaurant in the East Village.

It was fun times as per usual when we get together and certainly not the last of the fun times with Beetchie.

The fun comes with the conversations obviously and those gd pictures I will have to post and edit with some bao heads but for the record:

2 Scullys, 1/1 Sculder/Mully and 1 Mulder investigated the paranormal and the prospect of what would happen if 1 Tony Soprano, 1/1 Tony Soprano/Melfi, 1/1 Melfie/Paulie Walnuts, and 1 Paulie Walnuts took a hit out on 2 Aquamen, 1 Batman and 1 Robin at dinner today.

Pictures, and those Memorable Quotes and Conversations of the Evening:

H1: oh gyad! What is that?! This isn't pomegranate juice!
Beetchie: Tastes like a peach and a white grape.
Or 2: Peach + White Grape = Pomegranate? Wtf are you talking about!

Frass: I want a fork please.

Beetchie: A crazy Thai girl tried to get with me yesterday. I don't mess around with girls who have boyfriends.
H1: I thought you would welcome turning the straight gay.
Beetchie: There will be no peen on this hallowed ground.

Beetchie: I want to be Scully!
::after quiz results::
H1: Beetchie, you're Mulder. You're Scully's girlfriend.

::during quiz::
H1: If you were a chess piece you would be...?
Beetchie: Knight!
Or 2: Rook!
Frass: Knight!
H1: Knight, what? You'd be the Queen! I am KING.

H1: I could use more meat...
::waiter comes and turns off grill::
H1:...well I guess not.

H1: ...choice d is "sidekick". Or 2 you are a sidekick!
Or 2: Yeah, that's true. But oh man, I'm sealing my fate as Robin!

::check comes and is laid in front of Frass::
Frass: See? Just because I'm a man they gave me the check.
Or 2: Whatever, Wonder Woman, just pay the damned thing.

::after quiz results::
H1: Okay, What?! Beetchie and I are Aquaman. Wtf! Frass is Batman! and Or 2, you're Robin.
Or 2: Damn it!

Or 2: Did you like the (green tea) ice-cream?
Frass: No. It tastes like ashes.

H1: Robin, go get the coats.
Or 2: I don't move until Batman tells me too.

Beetchie: Blah blah blah, don't you be frontin' Robin.
Or 2: What's that? I can't quite understand or hear you. I'm not a fish.
Beetchie: Shut up! (at least that's what I think she said. Har Har)

College, Stupid Kids, Goombas and December 1st.

It's the beginning of the last month of the year. It's one of my favourite months. Work's slow ::knock on wood::, we don't really "do" much because the Christmas season comes around and there are thoughts of usually happy times, presents and the like.

Surprisingly, this has been a very eventful December 1st and we are none too pleased about a lot of it.

I sort of remember college... I remember that I was never a crammer or a procrastinator when it came to writing papers.

Papa Ho on the other hand, well! I am shocked! I'm only kidding. In Papa Ho's defense, he has a lot going on and did not get around to his research paper until last night at 8 PM after knowing he had to do it for months.

He stayed up until 2 AM this morning doing work like the slacker college kid that he is and I with him because I was typing out his handwritten work. This was followed by a 6 AM session of hurriedly trying to finish said paper for a 9 AM class. I can now say I've had a true college experience and I know why I never did it. However, being the brainiac Nerdle that Papa Ho is, he still managed to get an early good review on his paper.

This day also found The HOchieS at the mall for some Christmas perusing. I have returned very angry thanks to some no ambition little bitch of a girl who decided to lie about a lost twenty that did not belong to her. After her friend did the right thing and told me that I had dropped a twenty (which I strongly believe I had not), she yelled at him after he told her the story for 'being stupid' and came over to me to tell me she had in fact dropped the money. All this as if I had not seen what went down. She knew she was wrong and a liar and I made her feel like an ass when I smirked at her like she was the stupid fuck that she is and handed over the twenty.

She may think she got away with her dishonesty and that I'm the stupid ass that let that happen but I gave her the money knowing that when her 13 year old fucking ass goes off and gets knocked up or jailed for bigger things than a 20 dollar bill, she'll truly regret this day. That little bitch is headed for no where and that gives me satisfaction. In the meanwhile, I am very disgusted by rude, lack of ambitious people I've encountered in the past week. All you pushers, self-obsessed, unaware people walking around the street, on the the trains, in the back of an alley with your stolen $20 dollars of food, drugs, alcohol or whatever - you're going to get kicked, pushed back, screamed at and end up somewhere horrid one day.

Memorable Conversation of Yesterday:

Or 2: Did you see the Goomba I put on the blog for you, Beetchie?
Beetchie: Yes. You ass. You should leave those poor Goomba alone!
Or 2: What? They deserve it besides, I think they're having fun.
Beetchie: Would you have fun if you were kicked around?! You're so mean!
Or 2: Hey, I spin them around on their little heads THEN kick them along. Who wouldn't have fun?
Beetchie: It's so sad, you ass!
Or 2: Hmmm, I know. I guess...they're just happy and so cute walking along then the Italian (Mario) that I am like a Mafioso comes along and kicks them in the head, right?
Beetchie: Yeah! It's just like me. There I am walking along all cute in my neighbourhood then some Guido comes out of no where and attacks me.

Thanksgiving Week At The HOchieS

Thanksgiving Week has ended and the HOchieS are not sure how the time went by so quickly.
This week, we were visited by some of the HOchie favourites - Pandy, Jills, Beetchie and X.
The other favourites were unable to come this year and while TD5 may be excused, MC is not and therefore he is DTU.

Good laughs, cold dim sum, too much coca cola that took up valuable dim sum space, tales of a crazy Jewish Subway Lady and a Bacon Preaching Prophet, beer of the apple and raspberry variety, attempted killings-whiny-snoring Pumpkin and Jazzie cat moments, serial killer Dexter anxiety times, paprikash with baby halushkas, calls from TD5 at 6.26 AM and of course, Thanksgiving feast of meats and/or carbs were shared.

What did not go down was The Oxtails' first gig. Due to some technical difficulties involving a microphone, the lead singer was not being judged (by a computer) on her singing.
Money was spent on clothing without the band manager's consent.
It was a debacle.

All in all we had fun, hectic times.

Thanks for the goo'd times, Frenemies.

Quotes of the Week:

X: I have a line of fat down my leg and then it ends in this dimple! It's nasty!
(and later): Why you feeling up my leg?!
Or 2: Oh, I wasn't really. My hand got too close and sank into your dimple.
X: ::slaps Or 2::

Pandy: A Toast To Us!

Pandy: I'm sorry about the dumplings. I ate them all. I don't know what happened.
H1: Let me guess, you also get stupid over dumplings?

Beetchie: I have issues with Pandy. He ate all the dumplings!
Or 2: Uhhh...he took food out of your mouth?
Beetchie: Yeah! What's up with that? First the paprikash then the turkey soup? You can tell him I'm not happy with him. Quote me.

Or 2 (during Rock Band): Do you want to restart the song?
X: Yeah. Let's do that...
PS3/Rock Band message: if you quit now, you will lose 647 fans. Do you wish to continue?
X: ::stunned silence:: nooo, we can't lose our fans!!!!

Memorable Moment of the Week:

Beetchie crashing a 1 year old birthday party. Well done, Beetchie. Well done.

Hmmm

"Look, it's an article about haunted hotels in NYC. Goo'd Times." - H1.
"Umm, no. I don't want to know about them because I won't be staying at any of them." - Or 2.
"No? You think something will follow you home?" - H1.
"Well, did you forget about Scotland?! I got knicked in the 'ead by a ghost!" - Or 2.
"Ahahahahahaha. You knicked yourself! You know who knicked you? It was Char Kar." - H1.
"That bitch..." - Or 2.

It is apparent that this knickin' bidness is becoming a yearly tradition. I don't like this. I don't like this at all.

"You Want Us To Play Until The Sun Comes Up?...That's Ridiculous!"

Yeah, we did actually. Ridiculous a concept? Never!

There are few bands I would go see more than once in support of the same tour/album. Well, okay, a 'few' would imply 3 but in fact, it's only 2. Need I say MUSE?

And the second, because inquiring minds would like to know, I'm certain of it:

Once again (like the tool I am re: last MUSE concert), I was debating not going to this. However, this time, it wasn't from trying to refrain from seeing a band for the 4th time of the same tour but I was wary of the venue as I'd never been to Central Park Summerstage and really didn't feel like moshing in one giant pit.

But thanks to an enthusiastic H1, we opted to go and for the second time this year, Arctic Monkeys have left me in pain of the fantastic kind.

You know the kind of pain you get the day after from jumping in the pit or moshing in the pit? That's a sign of a fun concert had and indeed this night was.

Charming, witty, playful, and downright bad-assed, the boys of AM played with such fury and created such frenzy in the crowd, that from the Ukkers who were in attendance to the New Yorkers, to the out-of-towners - it truly made the house into a circus, berserk as fuck.

We tend to see that as a perk though.

Look, excusing the poor, misguided and gross misuse of lyrics that I just had to toss in for it seemed fitting at the time (and who wants to go back and re-edit? It's 12.59 in the AM as I type this and I've work in less than 5 hours), the bottomline is that the show was goo'd times and I'm determined to go back next year if they return.

Also, Malahide Castle may not have come to fruition this year like I wanted it to but I'm determined to see them in the UK at some point.

And why not?

They are well worth it.

The Lowlamps/WTF Moments of the evening:

1. Voxtrot. That band left much to be desired. I was fairly excited to see The Coral and only found out hours before the show that they were no longer supporting AM.
The horrid vocalist coupled with equally horrid lyrics had me rolling my eyes and apologizing profusely to Beetchie and H1 for their "music". Like BYOP before them (AM really needs better support when they come to the U.S.), they perhaps had a bit of musical potential but thanks to a bad lead singer, it made for an unbearable set. Seriously, thinking back now I don't think I should have been apologizing. Voxtrot owes me one!

2. The lack of pit etiquette. H1, Sons and Beetchie were fighting off kids who were being assholes. A pit is fun but not when it's filled with peeps who don't know how to act right in there. Rude people plagued the place. And if there's one thing I do, it's avoid things like the plague. Alas, the abundance of assholery was too much to be rid of completely and I too, had my share of listening to little kids from one of the superpowers in the newly built Axis of Evil, NJ, go on about nothing because they refuse to shut the hell up.

3. WTF is up with AM and their poor lighting. I know they're very lowkey and don't care much for flashy brightness and all that, which is fine - they don't need it because their energy makes up for all else. It's not their fault I've a bit of a crap camera but their lighting does not help the situation any. So once again, I've no really fantastic pictures of the band. Another 'fuckity-fuck-fuck-fuck' moment? Present.

4. We'd rather not talk about it but not being able to meet the band makes for some sad HOchieS. One day, cuties.

5. The boys seemed to be a bit off in the beginning not that it made me have any less fun, nor did it really make them have any less fun. They seemed to be laughing and looking at each other with the "okay, let's get it together. har har har" look. Funny lads, funny. Don't fuck up my "Brianstorm" like that again! Ah, I keed.

6. *Warning: Sullied Blog Alert!

Once again, I did not hear "Perhaps Vampires Is A Bit Strong But..." and "Red Light Indicates Doors Are Secured". Also really disappointing was that we didn't get to hear the ultra-sexy vocals on "505". We also didn't get "Plastictramp"! I can kind of understand the lack of the latter being that it's not released here yet but come now, boys. I've resigned myself to the fact that I will never hear "505" unless I go to the UK to see them and that I will never hear "Perhaps..." and "Red Light...".

Hmmm, there's never any chicken bones around when you need a bunch... H1 will come prepared the next time though. Oh, yes. Oh, yes.

7. The worst thing of the evening was the fact that everyone in our group was split up and H1 and I were separated. Separated! That trauma is never going down again.

The Highlights of the Evening:

1. Alex acknowledged me and smiled. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

2. The banter between the band and the audience including the singing that went down during most songs, most notably, "When The Sun Goes Down", as expected.

3. They began the show with a little "Matador" Intro! Great stuff that. For a moment, I had a flashback to Japan when I happily found a CD store and took a picture of "Favourite Worst Nightmare" over there. I know. I have the strangest, most random flashbacks sometimes (and an affinity for finding excuses to post pictures of my boys):

4. Matthew, once more, tore up the drums like nobody's buisness and hit them particulary hard during "The View From the Afternoon". The sound in that open space was quite fabulous. It was a great venue for them.

5. I'm always rather impressed by the voice distortion bit that Alex does on "If You Were There, Beware" and tonight it was even more spectacular. It was loud, haunting and piercing - exactly the way I think it's meant to be heard.

::sigh::

Thanks for the great times and I'll see you next year - Nick, Matthew, The Cookie and Alex.

Quote(s) and Memorable Conversation(s) of the evening:

"Everytime I sing this song, the microphone tends to go to the side so I have to sing like this (with my head sideways). It's fate. But I guess there are worse things than that fate, huh?" - lead singer of Voxtrot.
"Yeah, having to listen to you, for instance..." - Or 2.

"A little more on the bass and piano, please?" - lead singer of Voxtrot.
"How about a little less, like none. Also, who do you think you are making all these demands?!" - Or 2.

"We are having technical difficulties, folks." - lead singer of Voxtrot.
"Thank goodness! Maybe they'll have to end their set NOW!" - Or 2.
::music starts playing::
"Goddamn it!" - Or 2.

"Ummm, I smell Christian." - Beetchie, on Voxtrot.

"We're a band from Texas..." - lead singer of Voxtrot.
"Ooooohhhhh, that explains EVERYTHING." - Beetchie and Or 2.

Okay, so it seems we really wailed on this band. Ah well. They can't all be greatness support like Illinois (who are deserving of their own tour!!!!).

"I guess we can't get lucky twice in one year. Illinois was a rarity." - Or 2
"::raised eyebrow:: Yeah." - Beetchie

Currently listening to: Some Kenna including "Man Fading", "Sunday After You" and "Out of Control" by Kenna. Hmmm, I'm disappointed in that new song. Hopefully the rest of the album will be amazing like the first. I still maintain that "New Sacred Cow" was the best $9.99 purchase I made, not to be confused with my best $11.00 purchase made: my now pin-ified jacket.

P.S. That was also quite clever of you, Alex. We know there's no song by that name. At least, not one of yours. So really, how DID we expect you to play 'until the sun comes up'? Thanks for making the lot of us seem ridiculous!

Quite. clever. Indeed...

Conversations Kill

Or 2: You know, everytime I go on to frickin' Amazon (to check the status of my shipped item) and they tell me it's "in transit" for days from Jersey City in NJ, I suspect that somehow, Frass is the one holding back my order.

X: Everytime something happens in NJ, I think it's his fault.

Or 2: Yes well, I think we all know that's the case.

Currently singing in my head: "Megalomania" by MUSE. "...When I am gone, it won't be long before I disturb you in the dark. And Paradise comes at a price, that I am not prepared to pay..."

Blog Gems Continue but oh, the Sullying.

It's a continuation from yesterday. I forgot to post these:

"He's lame. Dear Daniel's a pussy. There, I said it." - Beetchie

"Well then, I don't want to say it but since she went there, I'd think Beetchie would really like him." - H1
