Jokers

This is a world that has a fair share of jokers.  Sometimes, these jokers contribute pictures to Wikipedia articles.

I could have sworn that all articles go through some sort of verification process, and fact checking.

I am going to call Shenanigans on this mango picture here that is a part of the Wiki entry on that particular fruit.

What kind of round "mango" is that? When did mangoes ever get so round? Where is this from?

See? Shenanigans!

While I am at it, I am also going to call shenanigans on this picture taken from the Union Square NYC article on Wikipedia.

I highly doubt that this picture was taken to showcase a Lebanon related protest.

It seems to me that the person taking this picture was focusing, and taking a photo of something entirely different.

It's blinding!

Stuff of Nightmares

H1 and I have always wondered how in the history of the world, people just looked at something and decided, "hey, that looks like something I should eat".

Wiki provided some nightmares on Friday with the picture of the day:

The article on this here Hydnellum peckii or bleeding tooth fungus says that it's inedible. Really? Did someone actually try this? And if we knew to stay away from this (because honestly, I don't know WHO would WANT to eat that...stomach churning looking monstrosity), how come Asians decided Durian was okay to eat? Or do they eat this fungus as well?

Wiki's not all bad though.

They did have one of the most awesome articles on Friday as article of the day that was all about Komodo Dragons.

Awww, look at how precious he is...

Consider It Finished

Now I can move on to the billion and one anime I have to watch. Billion, seven, same difference.

I finished Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core on the train this morning and even after ten years of knowing Zack Fair's fate, I still cried. They just did that boy dirty.

I still love Shinra though.

I still hate Aerith.

God is in his Heaven and all is right with the world.

In other business, I took this picture for Beetchie last week Monday:

If E.P. were there I would have brought her home for you instead, B. In the meanwhile, have some ugly teens in bright yellow track pants and headbands, with hideous mauve sweatshirts that appropriately blend into the Wendy's sign.

My sincerest apologies.

Memorable Conversations of Today:

H1: What's this "Blackle" MC sent to us? Is it real? I find it suspect and maybe even a little bit racist.
Or 2: Yeah, it seems to be legit. I know...why don't you Blackle "Wiki", then Wiki "Blackle"?

On the camouflaged brown bird:

H1: Why is he messing around there by the tootsie pop?
Or 2: That bird is trying to eat the tootsie roll tootsie pop because he too wants to know how many licks it takes to get to the center...
H1: Oh, he's hopping away from it. Even the bird knows how nasty it is.
Or 2: ...Yeah, but now the world may never know...

F.R.: "NIN News: 2 weeks"
Or 2: Until Trent shakes us down for money again?
F.R.: Ha, yeah. That's 15 dollars per song.
Or 2: 36 x 15 is how much now?
D.C.: It's probably "Ghosts" with lyrics.

H1: I should plant a tree today.
Or 2: What.
H1: Eh! Don't mind my hippie buisness! It's Earth Day! I like our earth.
Or 2 & H1 (in unison): Just don't like the people. Hahahahaha.

Happy Earth Day, Bitches.

Want to know what I did today to help out our planet?

I blackled wiki.

The Happiest Places on Earth

Contrary to popular belief the Happiest Place on Earth is indeed Ebay and not Disney World.

At least, that was the case about 4 years ago. I've revised my list!

The happiest places are now (in addition to Ebay which has fallen on some hard times and down on my list) Amazon.com, YouTube, Wikipedia and Blogspot.
