Not Feeling So Bad

I went on to the message boards and forums on the official site and other blogs and such and now that I know that just about everyone got it, I don't feel so bad that I too am a victim of NiNfluenza.

I mean, things are rough when Trent comes down with it too and has to cancel a gig.

That's what you call a nasty strain.

The Beginning of the End

It was hot.

We were all ready to pass out, truly.

It was sweaty.

We were all sweaty but Trent was the sweatiest of us all.

It was plagued by a more than a few completely aggressive, idiotic sorry excuses for humans.

But we all had to be a little bit on the side of aggressive last night to combat what we were thrown into.

Despite the dehydration, disgust, and detestable behaviour on behalf of some, I made it finally...

And saw one of the best shows, from one of my favourite bands on one of their final tour dates in their 20 year long career.

Another Example of Assiness

There's been lots of assiness on this blog lately but sometimes that's how it goes.

For instance, had I not received the Bowery E-mail Concert Alert, I would never have known that the stupid effin' NIN show at Terminal 5 was going to be having a pre-sale yesterday via my hated Ticketmaster, complete with pre-sale password.

How cranky would I have been next week had I gone on to get tickets through NIN.com to do the general public sale only to discover that Ticketmaster for the millionth time in the history of Ticketmaster shart, sold out the entire show during the pre-sale?!

Because of course you know, it already has, right? I checked this morning.

Psh.

If all goes well, I will be attending one of NIN's final shows in August AND I get to see The Horrors!

H1 will probably be a cranky beast with me when she sees them but I will take my beating when that time comes.

I also need to prepare some chicken bones for Trent for the grievances of the past two years or so.

Currently: Wondering why Pumpkin insists on jumping on my desk blocking my view of the computer, even though he knows he's not supposed to be here.

Assed Out

Thanks, NIN.

Thanks.

Well, I'm one step closer to saying that I never saw Nine Inch Nails live in the history of their career.

If not for Gen' Frien', I would be completely assed out but can someone explain to me how a show that is supposed to go on sale at 5 PM sells out 1 minute before 5?

I witnessed this shit myself and was one of the unlucky ones to NOT get a ticket.

Pen me in a waiting area only to deny me tickets after release, why don't you?!

Stinkin' Friggin' NIN!

Anyway, due to being 'mizzled', I have another shot at getting tickets to Terminal 5 which I now know is NOT in Brooklyn (please...don't judge).

I just really want to see the Horrors too.

Meh.

Anyways, wish me luck on 7/31/2009 even though I'm not getting my hopes up at all.

I expect more reminders on July 31st, Bughie J. of songs from The Downward Spiral.

Oh, and I hope you don't mind I published your work without your consent, just as I'm sure Trent R. wouldn't mind your playful bastardization of his work.

Threat? No. Deserved Payback.

As Frass as my witness, let it be known that you owe me, MC.

Truly, you owe us both but this right here is my demand, and I'm ready to collect.

You owe me - one concert.

While you may have paid (with money) for our terrible experience at Matisyahu, that type of trauma can never be forgiven but only repaid.

An eye for an eye, I believe it's called.

Make sure you plan to be in NYC on August 22nd.

Because we're going to see Nine Inch Nails.

Now let me remind you that due to your wedding, I missed out seeing them and cursed you plenty.

You probably couldn't hear me because you were too focused on trying to not cry during your ceremony... Bad Man that you are and all.

But don't let me curse you again.

This is the last time I'll be able to see them and your last chance at not being the designated Number 1 spot on the 2009 Airing of Grievances List because it is not looking too good for you again this year.

Again With The Assholery

That is NIN.

So, Trent's been doing a lot of shart lately. Two weeks ago he said he'd stream it live - the 'grand' event of his signing the LE copies of Ghosts I-IV. Umm. Okay. Whatever. Lame but whatever.

Today I get my pre-sale code for a NIN ticket. Hooray! They'll make it all glossy for me and put my name on it, and I can collect so no scalpers can get involved. Brilliant! But not brilliant - NJ. Once again, another effin' concert in NJ. What's with the NY boycott, you assholes? Grrrrr.

Finally, the release of a new album that was, "on me" said Trent. A free download, of songs that are probably rejects from previous albums, maybe? Maybe. I don't know yet because I've not yet listened but I get to the download page and was greeted by elitist behaviour.

Don't you be pointing out my inadequacies, Reznor! Don't you be telling me I'm stoopid, I should download what version then describing my stupidity for me in jargon I don't want to get involved with!

Just so you know, I know what it all means!

...

Currently listening to: "Mis-takes" by The Charlatans. Here's another album that is tossed in the category "Yeah, this really needed to be free", the same as The Slip might be headed for. I won't know until tomorrow.

Sometimes it's a mistake to download things handed to me for free.

Consider It Finished

Now I can move on to the billion and one anime I have to watch. Billion, seven, same difference.

I finished Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core on the train this morning and even after ten years of knowing Zack Fair's fate, I still cried. They just did that boy dirty.

I still love Shinra though.

I still hate Aerith.

God is in his Heaven and all is right with the world.

In other business, I took this picture for Beetchie last week Monday:

If E.P. were there I would have brought her home for you instead, B. In the meanwhile, have some ugly teens in bright yellow track pants and headbands, with hideous mauve sweatshirts that appropriately blend into the Wendy's sign.

My sincerest apologies.

Memorable Conversations of Today:

H1: What's this "Blackle" MC sent to us? Is it real? I find it suspect and maybe even a little bit racist.
Or 2: Yeah, it seems to be legit. I know...why don't you Blackle "Wiki", then Wiki "Blackle"?

On the camouflaged brown bird:

H1: Why is he messing around there by the tootsie pop?
Or 2: That bird is trying to eat the tootsie roll tootsie pop because he too wants to know how many licks it takes to get to the center...
H1: Oh, he's hopping away from it. Even the bird knows how nasty it is.
Or 2: ...Yeah, but now the world may never know...

F.R.: "NIN News: 2 weeks"
Or 2: Until Trent shakes us down for money again?
F.R.: Ha, yeah. That's 15 dollars per song.
Or 2: 36 x 15 is how much now?
D.C.: It's probably "Ghosts" with lyrics.

H1: I should plant a tree today.
Or 2: What.
H1: Eh! Don't mind my hippie buisness! It's Earth Day! I like our earth.
Or 2 & H1 (in unison): Just don't like the people. Hahahahaha.

Happy Earth Day, Bitches.

Want to know what I did today to help out our planet?

I blackled wiki.

Effin' Eff Moments of Today

Frock.

Who uses that word anymore? H1 has declared that word shart. Sons, pay attention.

Trent Reznor.

Trent has managed to piss me off twice in a span of less than 5 months.

Today he announced the release of the new album in four available editions.

You can preview 9 of the 36 tracks for free online. Secondly, you can download a copy for $5.00. For $10.00 you can buy a cd set. For $75 dollars, you can buy a deluxe edition that has a hardcover art book dealie and finally, for $300 you get what you'd get for $75.00 plus the album on Vinyl. And a signature by the man himself, in addition to a number of this limited edition product of 2500 copies produced.

So.

If you're keeping track like I am, essentially I'd be paying about $100+ for a signature.

Trent, what the eff?! Why don't I just buy a $75.00 copy then hunt you down and have you sign it for me, making my copy 2501?

Ass.

I'm so pissed, I may even just go ahead and get that $10.00 edition. I'm going to preview the 9 to decide.

I feel like I got tons from Radiohead and for them, I paid 80 dollars.

Back in the day, just as Bughie J. pointed out, Trent could have gotten blood out of me.

Now my blood is reserved for Matt, which thinking about it now... puts him at $1845.78 from me last year alone.

...

I have an effin' problem.

Help.

Currently listening to: "I Hate Jimmy Page" by Mindless Self Indulgence. And I do too. No tour from Zeppelin and Robert Plant's to blame. Oh, I guess that'd make me hate Robert Plant, and "The Only Time" by Nine Inch Nails. I really curse this effin' Itunes Random Playlist sometimes.

Well, Huh...

I received an e-mail from Trent Reznor yesterday:

As many of you know, I've been working closely with Saul Williams on his new record. We've spent many hours together in hotel rooms, busses, backstages and studios around the world working on something we knew was great. This is the most involved I've been with any project outside NIN since Antichrist Superstar, and I've been impatiently waiting for the chance for you to hear it. Well... guess what?

The Inevitable Rise and Liberation of NiggyTardust! has arrived! After my own recent dealings with record labels we decided to release it directly to you. Head over to http://www.niggytardust.com for all the details. Register now and you can download the record November 1st. Working on this project was a real pleasure. Saul was interested in breaking boundaries / crossing genres / defying expectations and we learned a great deal from one another in the process. When asked about the sound of the record, I've had to resort to "... I really don't know HOW to describe it." That's a good thing more than ever these days.

A word on the way we've chosen to release this. There are obvious similarities in how Radiohead just released their new record and the way we've chosen to. After thinking about this way too much, I feel we've improved upon their idea in a few profound ways that benefit you, the consumer. You obviously will be the judge of this in the end. One thing that IS very different in our situation is that Saul's not the household name (yet!) that Radiohead is, and that means we need your support on this more than ever. If you like what you hear, spread the word.

I hope you enjoy the music,

TR

Not quite certain what TR was going on about, as not being one in the know, I researched this Saul Williams a little and found his words and actions respectable.

Thus, I went over to the purchasing part of the website out of curiousity and found two options. The first states that I am able to "support the artist that made this music by paying: $5.00". The second option is "I don't care about that, I just want the music by paying $0.00".

I must say...I felt rather bullied. Then I realized, I felt like I was within the makings of a gimmick.

Regardless, I decided that if I was going to buy anything, I would not do it blindly. Of course, I would need a sample of the music first. Dur.

And once I did, I made up my mind.

I'm not getting anything for $5.00 or for free.

In spite of respectable content and a backing by Trent Reznor, I don't particularly care for this style of music.

Why would I pay for something I have no interest in?
Or why would I cheat this man out of money for something I would rarely to never even listen to?

And more importantly, how did Trent Reznor get my e-mail?!
