I thank all who contributed to the PS3/Rock Band endeavour. An update on that is as follows - "Rock Band" was purchased yesterday using the Amazon Gift Certificates bestowed upon me for my birthday.
The balance without the present money came up to 10 dollars plus 15 for next day shipping. Barring any misadventures on Amazon's part, we should have our game on November 21st, the day after release.
The actual purchase of the PS3 has not happened yet but will of course, happen soon so that our Thanksgiving Week will continue the trend of the Crazy Fun we tend to have every year. Sadly, it may not be able to top the greatness of last year's "Pepperoni Animal" but really, not much can.
So.
On to Christmas and the list. H1 told me "to post that shit on the blog", so here goes...

As many of you know, I've been working closely with Saul Williams on his new record. We've spent many hours together in hotel rooms, busses, backstages and studios around the world working on something we knew was great. This is the most involved I've been with any project outside NIN since Antichrist Superstar, and I've been impatiently waiting for the chance for you to hear it. Well... guess what?
The Inevitable Rise and Liberation of NiggyTardust! has arrived! After my own recent dealings with record labels we decided to release it directly to you. Head over to http://www.niggytardust.com for all the details. Register now and you can download the record November 1st. Working on this project was a real pleasure. Saul was interested in breaking boundaries / crossing genres / defying expectations and we learned a great deal from one another in the process. When asked about the sound of the record, I've had to resort to "... I really don't know HOW to describe it." That's a good thing more than ever these days.
A word on the way we've chosen to release this. There are obvious similarities in how Radiohead just released their new record and the way we've chosen to. After thinking about this way too much, I feel we've improved upon their idea in a few profound ways that benefit you, the consumer. You obviously will be the judge of this in the end. One thing that IS very different in our situation is that Saul's not the household name (yet!) that Radiohead is, and that means we need your support on this more than ever. If you like what you hear, spread the word.

Not quite certain what TR was going on about, as not being one in the know, I researched this Saul Williams a little and found his words and actions respectable.
Thus, I went over to the purchasing part of the website out of curiousity and found two options. The first states that I am able to "support the artist that made this music by paying: $5.00". The second option is "I don't care about that, I just want the music by paying $0.00".
I must say...I felt rather bullied. Then I realized, I felt like I was within the makings of a gimmick.
Regardless, I decided that if I was going to buy anything, I would not do it blindly. Of course, I would need a sample of the music first. Dur.
And once I did, I made up my mind.
I'm not getting anything for $5.00 or for free.
In spite of respectable content and a backing by Trent Reznor, I don't particularly care for this style of music.
Why would I pay for something I have no interest in? Or why would I cheat this man out of money for something I would rarely to never even listen to?
And more importantly, how did Trent Reznor get my e-mail?!

The constant trauma of using the restroom at work has finally led to a meltdown and a few clever ideas.
Today, on two separate occasions, I found two unwanted nasties sitting proudly within the bowels of two separate bowls.
Mortified and ill I remained for a better part of the morning upon finding suspect number 1, which by the way was a Number 2. I recovered sometime after lunch, only to have a relapse when I discovered the second monstrosity later that afternoon.

In a HOChieS' Quest today to find various Christmas related things, such as new recipes for cupcakes other than red velvet, we stumbled upon a Wikipedia article that had a list of traditional food served at Christmas from 23 different countries.
It was rather disappointing but Trinidad and the Caribbean were not on the list, which means we can contribute to the article! I may be displaced but I do remember Christmas. It was my favourite time of year followed by Divali, Eid and Easter...sniff..., I miss the goo'd times.
Our rummaging through the eats of various countries led to other articles, one being the yule log.
As I was reading up on said yule log, (and let me digress for a moment, I find the concept of a televised yule log an utterly ridiculous 'tradition' but I suppose some find the constant repetition of A Christmas Story for 24 hours utterly ridiculous, and to them I say, "pox on you"), I came across this horrid thing:

Sometime last week I was watching tv (oooo, rare) and I saw a commercial for "Soyjoy". It's one of those things we ate in Japan. This is just a notice to Beetchie, and a note to myself that that's pretty cool. Now if only they would bring some of that Man Scent gum to the US...
Currently: pondering what to do about my lack of Dexter
I had the weirdest dreams this morning. Perhaps they were not SO weird but I dreamt I got my copy of Guitar Hero III and a PS3 controller guitar hooked into it but obviously didn't work as well. Then I dreamt it doubled as a CD, so I put it in a cd player (See how this dream is messed up? A Cd player...har har har har. What is that?) and it was filled with pop music and No Doubt, save the one MUSE track "Supermassive Blackhole" followed by "Shut Me Up" by MSI. I think I may have been fighting my nightmare at that point but lost the war when the next part of my dream found me sitting in the car with H1 and Lou and we were playing song guessing games of 80's songs on the Sirius.
I guessed "Foolish Rain" to some song I can't even hear right now (no, not "Fool in the Rain" unfortunately) but rather some damned Nelson song I think.
Needless to say I now have "Love and Affection" chiming away in my head as we speak. This could potentially be a bad day...
Ah well, at least I got good MUSE news when I awoke. Good news or am I still having a bit of a weird dream...?
Muse planning 'electronic' album
Muse have explained that their next album is likely to have a more electronic feel than their previous work.
Speaking to The Daily Star, drummer Dom Howard explained that him and his bandmates plan to start work on the album in the new year.
"We're going to start writing it properly next year," he said. "We've been getting loads of ideas down. We think it might have quite an electronic feel.
"Normally we need total time out from touring to sit down and reflect but this time round it feels different. We're buzzing at the moment.

It's been near six days since Gnome has returned to Castle in the Fog after his excursion to some sort of School Beyond Red Carpet Turf.
Gnome never rests.
Gnomey-mobile has been busily puttering along over Flat Hillians, near Smudgey Lake and back and forth between Castle in the Fog and Gnome Cottage - The weather has been unseasonably warm for this time of year, so Gnome Cottage remains open.
He heard something last week while enjoying a slice of his favourite Fall pie, which of course is Pumpkin and Some Kind of Apple.
With colour pencils in hand and chittering with excitement, he gets to work on a blank piece of paper he found lying near his Junior Accounting Calculator.

He is particulary fond of his "Y"'s and his "O"'s, as he draws busily away, grinning from ear to ear.
I've been playing The Legend of Zelda series for quite some time now. Granted, I did nothing more than chop bushes when I was younger when I took the role of Link on the NES.
But I've graduated.
I'd like to think that I'm now what H1 would call a Zelda Connoisseur.
At least, this is what I thought until tonight.
Can someone explain to me WHY I am having one hell of a time getting my drawing of the Triforce to register on the DS?! I've been at it for at least 15 minutes now and if that area was not in a safe zone, my Phantom Hourglass sand would have run out 6 minutes ago!
I'm pretty sure my rendition of it should should open that gd red door in the Ocean King's Temple!!!!!
How could I not know what the Triforce looks like?! I've one pinned to my bag that I see 7 days a week, for fuck's sake!

By the way - if you listen closely after I draw my triforce, the "nuh uh, fuck you, you got it wrong" buzz can be heard and the words on the screen are "nothing happened".
For future reference (because you know, it only took me 45 minutes to do), the PROPER way to draw a triforce is to start at the top, go left, stop middle, draw to the right, extend that line diagonally going left, then up left, complete the left side of the triangle, draw the bottom, then from the bottom, draw the right side of the triangle - back to the top and there you have it.
Why am I logging this?
Because the next time this shart happens, I want to be properly prepared!

Without a record label - fans, critics and anyone who cares speculated on how the release of Radiohead's 7th album would pan out.
Well, for weeks we've known that the record was done but today, it was announced the album would be released via the band's website in two available formats. The first as a limited edition discbox and the second as a digital download.
The LE of "In Rainbows" costs ₤40. But the real surprise? The digital download costs... whatever the buyer wants to pay.
Here I was, actually given the opportunity to "buy" music for free. And this wasn't just music - this was an entire album from one of my favourite bands.
I pondered.
The choice, while obvious to many (if it's free, it's for me!!!!), had me questioning exactly how much I would pay for the album.
I wanted to pay.
Ultimately, I ended up purchasing the Limited Edition and decided that (partially out of curiousity) I would 'buy' the digital download for nothing.
Aside from curiousity as to whether I'd seriously be allowed to put zero pounds on my credit card (yes, I'll have to pay whatever transactional fee), I also justified my price tag by the fact that I paid for the LE, and finally, I wouldn't get that until December 3rd and hell, I want my new Radiohead in 9 days. (Consider this saving me the trouble of mp3-ing a cd. Of course, I'm not sure if this will be in mp3 format but I'll see on October 10th.)
So...
Even though I've 'technically' paid quite a hefty sum (a testament to Radiohead's musical worth to me), why do I still feel slightly guilty about my nil bill?
Edit: I did find it odd that if I bought the hardcopy that I wouldn't actually get it until December. It turns out that you get a download with this package as well. So, in fact I get TWO downloads - one paid and one not! Who wants the freebie?
