Adventures in the Last Week of August

The crap month that is August is finally coming to a close.  If the Zombie Apocalypse occurs at the end of the year, I'm sure I'll quite happily take another August over that.

In the meanwhile, I will continue to speak ill of the month in which my camera broke.  Yep, August continues to prove that it is pure evil because it was all August's fault that happened! Don't you see?!

In some sort of end of August madness, I wound up coming home late three nights this week for fun events with friends.

It was as if August was trying to redeem itself for its asshattery but I know better.

On Tuesday, I attended a Yankees game at the new stadium upon invitation by a work buddy along with Alex and Active Goat T.  While my usual practice would be to root for the other team other than NY (to be a contrary jerk - no other reason), on principle I could not do so for Toronto.  You know, Canada and all... haha, Canada! I only kid.

The Delta Lounge or whatever it's called.  Too lazy now to look it up.  Laaazzzyyy!!

Misadventures: Because You Know You Missed Them

It's been two long weeks.  Earthquakes, hurricanes, record flooding... and it's the first week of September which always means that people decide they need to do all the work they neglected to do for the earlier Summer months.

Yet, when Beetchie and I go out together, I am still surprised by the mishaps that occur when we're out together.  But why should I be? The weeks have been crappy and meeting up with Beetchie at the end of it all should always signal some sort of disaster.

Don't believe me or need a reminder?

What about the raw squid or raw taro? That doesn't sound like horror to you? Well it should because it sure was horrible to us.

What about that almost awful head injury?

Exploding bakeries? Anyone?

And countless other events (including all of the Japan trip) that I am not recalling here; I am beginning to feel like a broken record.

So why so surprised every time something happens? Well, because it's almost unbelievable.

That's not to say that we did not have a good Summer last year when we got Doughnut Plant doughnuts for the first time...or Ippudo or went to see Scott Pilgrim.  I don't recall anything odd happening and maybe that's just what the problem was.  Again the built up pressure of non-happenings could no longer hold and resulted in Saturday Morning's events.

We went looking for Nom Wah Tea Parlor.  On Google Maps, it appears to be right next to Joe's Shanghai but what we found next to Joe's Shanghai was this:

Really?

Unnecessary Panic

Oh yes, so the other night, Frass (who pulled an MC and Alex and FELL ASLEEP! He claims the cupcake did him in) and I went to see Zombieland.

Why was it, as I was hurriedly trying to walk down the avenues to catch my train that all I could think about was to watch my back?

And then again on the train?

Zombies, man.

Nothing happened so we'll call this Unnecessary Panic...

For now.

Currently: Awake because Aims' birthday dinner to me is not really sitting well, but do I need to panic?! It's 4:44 AM! That's the tri-force of evil dead numbers, right there! Yeah, you guys thought it was the triple 6 but I watch way too much anime to know that "4" is unlucky, I am part Asian and subscribe to Asian things (when convenient to my delusions)!

Orrrr, maybe I really need to just go to bed.

Sore Throat, Teary Eyes

An apology to Frass is in order.

H1 made plans for me without my consent, and Beetchie and I went to see Up today.

Save yourself the trauma, Frass. I cried through the entire thing! Finding Nemo's got nothing on this!

It was really good though. I enjoyed it a lot unlike last year's Wall.E. Sorry H1, I just didn't love that one too much.

Beetchie and I had a good weekend filled with good eats including frozen treats:

A Pink Cloud from the Treat Station.

I was told it's a strawberry soda ice-cream float. I liked it much more than Beetchie's Coke Float.

We also had cold stone creamery - banana caramel and some sort of nuts. I think that's the first time I actually enjoyed ice-cream from that place.

not pictured - curried duck, dahl, rice, parotha and again with the chocolate sheet cake.

We also got in a fair amount of Rock Band.

The Oxtails pulled many smooth moves as per usual including having a theme of "No Clothes Look" for many of our performances in Amsterdam. What can we say? Sariel and G. are hot biatches who deserve to show their tattoos of gold fish and cats!

I probably pulled too awesome a move on the very last song played though. Belting out "Master Exploder" to save Beetchie really did its number on me. While I can usually sing this (on a good day), singing it about 2.5 times this weekend plus many other vocal streneous songs (curse you, Bruce Dickinson!) and not getting enough sleep from our work misadventure on Friday of coming home at 4 AM only to sleep for an hour to be back at work 3 hours later really effed me over this weekend.

My throat hurts.

But we had fun times, Beetchie. Fun times.

Oo! Band Manager played bass too! I was quite happy that H1 picked up the guitar today.

Trinidad...

First, let us discuss our as per usual, frantic on the fly trip as a whole and all the shart we ate while there.

We got to Trinidad last week Thursday in the afternoon, and ! Boohead came with us! and managed to stuff Royal Castle in his mouth before I did..., then we proceeded to eat Aunty P.'s awesome times pelau then went out with CLee to stock up on stuff:

Dinner was the KFC we quickly ate before tuning in to the Burn Notice season premiere but really we tuned out because there were too many distractions around for us to pay attention. I feel as though TD5 somehow, distracted me on purpose even though he wasn't around.

We awoke on Friday and while H1 was at home secretly eating Hops and Cheese like an ass without me, I was out with TD5 getting doubles to feed her.

H1: 1
Or 2: 0

Before going into the details of Friday, Saturday and Sunday morning I would like to do a wrap up of Sunday afternoon, Monday and Tuesday morning.

Sunday afternoon brought us family that once more invaded Aunty P.'s and Uncle P.'s house. Heh, we're very grateful for letting them converge like that.

It was a little bit strange seeing everyone. I've not seen many for a long time, not for about 13 or so years and it was a bit sad too as it was a reminder that we truly are getting older (I still don't feel it myself). Still, it was also a very good thing to see everyone. We miss them.

Monday turned out quite relaxed.

Aunty P. made salted fish with tomatoes etc. and boiled some sikia figs. Mmmm, it was the first time I had the figs like that (not quite ripe, not quite fully green) and I knew it'd be awesome but sometimes when you got that one fig that was sweeter than it should have been..oh yeah. That's what you call good times, my frenemies.

We also ate chicken puffs that morning, followed by TD5, Luuuuuuiiiiiissss and I going to see awesome B Movie times Drag Me To Hell.

I. Love. Sam Raimi.

The movie was everything a Sam Raimi movie of the horror movie genre should be - fun, ridiculous, gross, cheesey and with at least one dancing candarian demon. Bruce Campbell is forgiven for not being there due to the fact that he's off doing awesome Burn Notice related things but he was missed.

I also missed Ted Raimi's cameo but not for a lack of trying. It was off-screen! Clever, Sam R. Clever indeed.

Dinner was in two parts though I ate only a litle the first time - a little bit of buss up shot and curried goat with pigeon peas that Aunty P. made for us from the day before.

Oh, that's right? Did I forget to mention that the day before we ate like amazing times? Curried goat with pigeon peas, dahlpuri AND buss up shot, curried mango (yum!), stewed chicken and channa and alloo?

2nd Dinner was Royal Castle. I really missed that place. Their chicken is great and their crinkle cut fries are still hella' awesome. CLee, I might have to abandon the KFC but not the zingers.

A little near 1 AM, we boarded our flight to NY and was met with drama on the plane. Some asshole got to his seat and scoffed at the woman and baby sitting in the row by proclaiming that he did not want to sit near "no effin' baby" (I cleaned up the language because it's horrifying to repeat as is).

Security came and kicked him off the plane after the woman rightly made a stink (and came over to sit next to my empty seat) but then they stupidly let him back on the plane citing that 'two wrongs don't make a right". Their logic was that if the woman also used obscenities then she should be kicked off the plane.

Now. How idiotic was that? She did not curse him, she cursed at the general situation and so what? She was reacting to a horrible mess of a man!

So, they let the stupid back on the plane because it was only fair in their eyes that he should be allowed to fly too.

I'm often pissed off at Trinis stupidity.

But the same applies to racist, power tripping customs officials in the US.

When we got to the U.S., and got in line for the first customs official...I knew we were in for some shit. I watched the man get up, not acknowledge he had a line of people waiting for him (ie us), go to the bathroom and disappear for 10 minutes, saunter back to his post still without acknowleding us and when he finally called us over...he was a dick.

He insulted the intelligence of flight attendants and the respectability of their jobs (you know, as if he's the shit at the airport that has the most important damned job there) and then with an assholish attitude asked Luuuiiissss if he'd ever been in the back before ie the Interrogation room because that's where he sent Luuuuiiiisssss.

It still boils my blood thinking about it.

Anyway, as mentioned, there's a bit of a gap on the details between Friday afternoon and Sunday morning.

Friday afternoon we got on another plane for a 12-20 minute flight to the Sister Island.

Memorable Conversations:

H1 and TD5 are discussing work, and my favourite parrot Billy: ::steups::
TD5: Billy, stop steupsing.

Or 2: Ugh, do I really have to get up to go brush my teeth?
TD5: You are lazy.
Billy: ::extreme laughing::

Can you believe that parrot was laughing at me because I was called lazy?

Or 2: Did you hear what Billy does? He imitates the sound of fruit falling from the trees and hitting the ground... 'buddup'.
Mk: Umm..ookkkaaaay...
Or 2: Yeah because then the dogs go searching frantically for the 'fruit'.
Mk: ::extreme laughing::

August 1st - 4th

The world has not yet ended even though I was of the camp "the world will end once that atom smasher is turned on!". Considering that I am unsure if it has even been turned on yet will probably have you believing that I did not really think a Black Hole would form and sucks us all down. That may be partially true but only because the Discovery Channel told me that Operation Impending Doom III was set to begin in 2012, so that's the date I'm going by really. The Discovery Channel never lies! That's probably how long it'd take that Black Hole to form anyway...

In the meanwhile, the HOchieS have been enjoying the company of Hochie favourites - Beetchie & Alex, with Frass and MC tagging along. Heh.

On Friday, we went to see The Dark Knight. It was quite a good movie and as Batman should be but it made me sad to see Heath. It's not as if I loved Heath when he was still with us but I didn't dislike him either. Seeing him with all his finite lines and creep behaviour just makes it all the more tragic.
Other than that, Gary Oldman was fantastic but not as fantastic as Frass and I keeping an eye on MC and Alex to ensure they were not sleeping (as both are notorious for such things) and sure enough, within the first five minutes MC had fallen asleep.
And it was during a bank robbery! What the eff.

After getting out of the theatre early with a date of 5 PM for dinner, SOME people were starvin' and needed to get food earlier. Since we were to meet Beetchie for dinner, we decided to go to Applebee's for some mini-burgers, wings and drinks.

This was followed by Pongsri which as always was a fun time with good eats had by all. I had about a million quotes to add to this but can't remember any of it. We're such messes.

Saturday proved rather crazy. I almost made Frass hate me for life (which I'm sure he does already but maybe had this gone the way it could have, he would hate on me with intent to destroy). I did not have my phone on me, so I missed his call telling me that he was on the 11.45 train. I only got that message at 1.40, which means he would have been waiting at the train station for an hour for us to pick him up. It turns out rain saved my ass by falling so hard and fierce that it flooded the tracks and he was delayed for an hour extra. So while my ass was saved, his was napping on the train. All in all, it worked out for all parties involved.

Beetchie and Sufi showed up an hour after the potential debacle with a box full of baos and a bag full of crabs with gundys not secure. Well, those crabs were rather entertaining especially the one that was super fiesty:

We rocked the Rock Band, had patties, jerk chicken with rice and peas and chatted. Oh yeah, and there was a huge fight over some molten lava cake between Sufi and Beetchie that I tried to stay away from but it was near impossible since the fight spilled over right into Sunday afternoon.

As a treat for the Oxymorons, The Oxtails completed the World Tour and are now in the Hall of Fame. We went in lookin' like whores being mostly unclothed and ended up purchasing threads for the Apocalyptic "future" and ummm, feathers. I now have a jellyfish microphone and Beetchie has a gas mask. I think she may have been trying to tell me something but I ignore her.

Monday morning saw the eating of dim sum with Beetchie, a pepper flake that got stuck in my throat and a long uneventful day at work after that. Ah well.

Now I'm back to how my August months usually are - boring.

I hate August.

Currently listening to: "Spiralling" by Keane. Uhhh, okay, I was SO not expecting this bad '70s + '80s Sound AT ALL. Wow. and "The Escapist" by The Streets. If this song is any indication of what the new The Streets album is like, I might have to take Mike Skinner's advice and push things forward by getting someone else's album; and "Midna's Desperate Hour" by Koji Kondo and Toru Minegishi, from the Legend of Zelda: The Twilight Princess Original Soundtrack. This game was damned nightmarish!

I Continue to Torture Myself

I ate Japanese Curry last week in my never ending self-loathing quest to try Japanese Curry even though I dislike the stuff.

It's a fried pork cutlet with curry sauce poured on for those of you wondering what the eff the picture was supposed to represent.

I have to say though, it actually wasn't that bad. I know, maybe it was the viewing of Hellboy II: The Golden Army with Beetchie that made me delirious. But I have to say, that movie actually wasn't that bad. Aha. No, really. Like the first, it had potential but then degenerated into crip at the end.

Oo, crip. There's a word we've not used in a while, H1.

Those Vampires Sucked!

Was it...:

Blood? Check

The fact that they were annoying, self-proclaimed geniuses with less than well-thought out plans with an affinity for contradictory practices and unnecessary immediate killing sprees, when really they were all just a bunch of hipsters headed by ugliness? Check

The HOchieS rarely go to movies and 30 Days of Night is one of those reasons for us to continue that trend.

Train BFF is so going to get a talkin' to for his recommendation.

Quotes of that day:

"Those vampires are assholes...notice the head looks like Billy Bob Thorton? I think it's intentional. Billy Bob is a vampire." - H1.

24 News

Cuthbert Wants Bigger Role in '24' Movie

Actress Elisha Cuthbert is backing plans for a film version of the hit TV show 24, but only if her character plays a bigger part.

The Captivity star currently plays Kim Bauer, daughter of Kiefer Sutherland's agent Jack Bauer of the Counter Terrorist Unit in Los Angeles, and is keen to reprise the role on the big screen. However, she's convinced the movie would be much better if producers let her share some of the action with her busy on-screen dad.

She says, "There's definitely room for (a movie). But it depends on whether or not Kiefer can take it any more! The poor guy's been hacking away at Jack Bauer for years. If he's into it, it'll be great, because everything he does is awesome. People love to watch my character Kim, but she's also a bit of a spanner in the works and I wouldn't want her to be that. Three years ago I wanted her to be Jack's partner and kick a**, but to the producers it was like, 'We've got to be realistic about this.' But if the movie comes round and it works to have her there, then I'd love to play her again."

Seriously, what is she going on about? Wasn't there a cry to arms to have Kim Bauer die by fans? Who the hell does this biatch think she is?!

The Kyoto-Ho Japan Chronicles - Day 10

Day 10 - Tuesday, June 5th

Another easy day in Kyoto. One that involved our going to a ghetto zoo. The Kyoto Zoological Park was quite sketch and once again, we found ourselves surrounded by school children. It had a petting zoo section for crap's sake!

There were no alligators which made it lame. And as per usual, I end up at a zoo on a really hot day so the red pandas refused to show themselves. But the vulture was really damned hilarious to me. He lumbered around like nobody's business. Beetchie enjoyed the multiple fowl because according to her, if it's a bird, it's edible.

After the short-lived zoo visit, we made our way back to the maze strip mall and couldn't find the movie theatre we had seen the day before. Why did we want the movie theatre?

We went to see Pirates of the Caribbean 3: At World's End.

Look, don't judge us okay? We wanted a movie experience in Japan and it was really hot that day!

Anyway, the movie theatre impressed Beetchie due to something about the high resolution screen and reserved seating. I was impressed by the fact that I could eat caramel popcorn as my choice of popcorn and it was good too. A choice in popcorn that isn't extra butter! It was a little burnt but still, it was fantastic. I was confused by the hippo mascots and the fact that the Japanese were very quiet in the theatre.

As for the movie itself, it was better than part 2 save that whole stupid role of that "jamaican" woman. Ugh. But TD5, we need to discuss.

Next we hit up Gion Corner, which literally was a corner. Those Japanese can be so humourless sometimes though alright, maybe I found that slightly amusing. Unfortunately we arrived too late as the Geisha had already retired for the night. It was only a little after 8 p.m. but who am I to judge a Geisha? They certainly know how to reel in the money. Damned rich Gion...

Things We Observed This Day - Volume VIII

1. Frankly, we'd observed this a long time before but the Japanese are all about day trips and school trips for their kids. I question whether the children go to school at all. Look at those children, the real animals at the zoo!

2. We had nothing but bus misadventures on this trip. Even when it wasn't our fault, we still mananged to hold up the bus because their stupid machines didn't want to read our 500 yen.

The Day's Eats:

1. Takoyaki.

2. Bad Hot Dog/Onion Cheese Bread.

3. Maple, condensed milk sandwich.

4. Caramel Popcorn.

5. Ramen with really fatty pork.

Obligatory Animal Picture for Beetchie:

Here's your squeaky toy sounding bush-dog, Beetchie. I'm sure he had a WTF moment of the day when you insisted on wakin' his tired ass. 'Thanks. Thanks for waking me.'

The Shooed Away Count:

1. The bus driver kicked us off his buss for holding up his bus. I think I got a free ride off of him or Beetchie. It wasn't our fault the stupid change machine wasn't working properly!

Hot Fuzz = Good Times

You know who's Hot Fuzz? Yes, we said before and we'll say it again. Look at the pictures! These two are Hot Fuzz:

We love Simon and Nick! And I can't wait for the dvd so I can re-watch to see all the wit I may have missed the first time around.

Seriously, how could you not love the Bad-Assness?

Yeah. That swan? Particulary hot.

But not hot? The Ginger-Nut.

Why. Why. Why.

This is the first of the Random Posts for tonight. We were on a roll today. But why is it about Amy Winehouse. Again?

Maybe it had something to do with what dlisted.com was reporting, something about rumours thus far are that the DAAWD (Diseased Alcoholic Anorexic Whore Druggie) - (for those of you not keeping track of our assessment of her) may appear in the next Bond movie.

And the conversation that ensued -

H1: ewwwww
Or 2: ew, what?
H1: http://dlisted.com/node/9622 (this will take you to the article)
Or 2: is this going to upset me? .... She'll die before that happens. She'll die before she's made Bond Girl.
H1: her feet are huuuuge
Or 2: her feet are as large as her head. She looks like something that crawled out of a mossy, dead tree stump. A troll? Yeah, that's it.

(troll source: howardlyon.com)

TD5. You REALLY need to stop.

The Transformers Blog I

There's going to be at least one more of these when the movie actually comes out, I'm sure but I had to post this pre-discussion now.

I'm not really keen on seeing it because there's some bitterness there from the childhood when our brother and I had our Tapes stolen from us but annnnyyywwaaaayyyyyy.

We came up with a plan for Battler and that is to have her dress up as a montage of vintage 80's cartoons at the premiere for this movie.

Here are some of the items she needs to be rockin' when the time comes - a smurf hat, a strawberry shortcake on the arm, a top cat top hat, and a chomp chomp in a bag among other things. But then I mentioned she needed some kind of "Captain Planet and the Planeteers" gear and we realized that that show was racist!

Think about it.

Why was the African kid the guardian of Earth?

Why was the Asian kid the guardian of Water?

Why was the Amazonian kid the guardian of Heart? Okay, maaayybbbe that's not racist but I just didn't understand it.

The European was the guardian of Wind but did anyone else notice that the Fire-Crotch was the guardian of Fire?

This show sucked big time but that's what happens when you let Hippies on to tv and let them create programs. That's right, Jane Fonda, I called you a GDDH.

Here's what sucked the most though:

one of the characters was called 'Duke Nukem' and looked a like so -

The only Duke Nukem we'd know and love is this one!

Alright, so maybe he was an asshole that we didn't necessarily love but at least he didn't invoke images of Magnum PI with his choice of attire.

Quotes of the week:

"I stayed there like a pussy!" - Battler, on her misadventures at the 14th Street Starbucks.

"Sabi has an ass-lock." - Beetchie, on the tuft of hair that Sabi refuses to have brushed out, that yes, is lingering above her ass and becoming dutty.

"When Sabi is ready to have it cut, she'll just back her ass up on Beetchie to have her cut it off." - H1, on above subject.

There's Something Very Wrong with USA

Maybe it's just me but any television channel that tries to pass of Patch Adams as a romantic comedy seems rather...wrong.

Currently listening to: X with classic quotes such as "Maybe you didn't stick that swab (Zycam) far enough up your nose?" and "I don't know, I would have totall shot him in the leg." and

Or 2: I think it's disturbing they mixed that classical piece.
X: I think it's great, 'oh yeah! get down!' You know some rappers are gonna be all over that!
Or 2: Yeah, my fear is that they're going to start remixing every damned piece of classical music they're going to get their hands on.
X: Well they are running out of things to remix.

HOchie 1's Observations on Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory

Charlie might be the worst paperboy in the world. Or is he? Hmmmm.

There's a lot of in-breeding going on in the towns - all married couples have the 'same' names. There's George and Georgina, Joe and Josephina and Henry and Henrietta.

On top of the in-breeding, there are a whole hella of a lotta child molestors running around town. There's the candyman and the chopper peddler.

Charlie's mother has a good voice - why didn't she market that talent and make some real money instead of working in the laundrymat?

Charlie can't read! He had to have his grandfather read the details of the ticket for him. I don't know what kind of school this poor kid's going to. Oh, that's right. Poor kid...

And it's unfortunate that Charlie's not cuter because I'd feel happier for him that he won the Golden Ticket. Things should even out. If you're poor, you should at least be cute.

And Gene Wilder is the man.

The Nightmare Before Christmas Again But This Time in 3D!

1993 saw the release of one of my favourite movies, yes, the very same this blog title is named after.

I've been somewhat of a freak for it. It's so...collectible! I own a Jack 'Sandy Claws' figure, a bobblehead Lock, t-shirts, the original soundtrack (the last copy which I hid in the store behind some crap c.d. for weeks before I had money to go back to buy it), the special edition dvd, a bag, a Zero choker (okay, so this actually belongs to HOchie 1 - it's one of my favourite finds off Ebay) and a 24-inch Jack Skellington talking figure. That figure was given to me on my birthday this year (by the great Beetchie) because the obsession is still so great. I also watch at least part of this movie every year. And if that doesn't convince you, let's just say if I had 1850 dollars to burn, I'd be rockin' that Jack Skellington ring set Link

I have to point out though that no matter how great my obsession, there are thousands of people out there who are ten times more obsessed than I and/or share my feelings about this movie including the Japanese.

So of course, October 20th has been grated into my brain ever since I found out the release of the 3D version of this movie. As it was grated into the brains of the fans that packed the theatres at Union Square and some who came in costume to receive their limited edition t-shirt. Unfortunately, circumstances not under our control saw Beetchie and I without one of those t-shirts but no worries, Beetchie's got plans to steal Jess', who by the way went to the show dressed as an awfully, fantastic Sally.

As expected, the already amazing movie was made into an incredible experience.
Anyone who has been a fan should definitely go see it if afforded the opportunity (I'm really sorry, Gen) and those who for whatever reason never saw it (Giant Kitty, you crazy!) this is your chance to see it on the big screen and join the league of crazed fans. Hey, even the 3D glasses were impressive but we all agree could have been more so had they been decorated with a pumpkin at least.

After the movie we went to Max Brenner for X had never been and I only mention it because it was hilarious that the chant of 'hot chocolate' from her seemed already sugar induced even though at that time, we didn't actually inhale copious amounts of chocolate yet.

A night out involving Beetchie and myself never goes by without incident as already known and well, let's just say you should always have a metrocard handy unless you've no problem waiting for your friends' unlimited pass to clear the 'just used' stage and don't mind looking at them like this for more than 15 minutes:

Currently listening to: "Jack's Obsession" by Danny Elfman, from the The Nightmare Before Christmas soundtrack & "Spooks of Halloween Town" by Yoko Shimomura, from the Kingdom Hearts Original Soundtrack.

I never realised that my Pumpkin King was so much of a Drama Queen.

MF'ing Snakes on a MF'ing Lei

The day started with dim sum with X, her family and her friend. It was as always, good times but no muppet sightings were made.

And the day ended with our being at this funky new to the area speciality chocolate restaurant called Max Brenner at Union Square. Anyone who is a chocolate fiend will thoroughly enjoy this place even if it is a little pricey. Go forth and eat chocolate by the Bald Man.

And now the in-between:

Snakes on a Plane was as expected. It's as fun as the people you go with if they're into ridiculous things and know not to take the movie seriously. And all my friends are ridiculous and that's why I love them and that's why we had a blast. Unfortunately only the Giant Kitty and Beetchie could make it with me (Battler, I missed your ass...).

Can I just say...I loved that one snake who was so enthralled at finding the pheromone-induced lei that he spent the entire movie curled up in that lei, playing happily like the kitty was before kitty went all dead-like and eaten.

Memorable quotes & Har Har Moments from SoaP:

"I'm tired of you feeding me this garbage!" Har Har with the red bull can.

"Time is Tissue."

The miracle of pencils that sketch pictures with colour. I wish I had one of those... everybody on that mf-ing plane had one of those mf-ing pencils.

Quote of today:

Currently listening to: "Elevator" by Hot Hot Heat.

D-H F

The Internet Bringing Back the Dead (?), Cave People and Zombies, oh my!

This HOchie broke out of work early to do a Horror movie Double-Header Friday with good friends Beetchie and the Giant Kitty. Yes, Mitch *Connors*, Giant Kitty is SF.

We started out with Pulse. I knew this movie was going to be crap but being that I have a heterosexual girl crush on Suga'Face #1, Kristen Bell of Veronica Mars fame, I felt the need to go support her. And she truly is a Suga'Face but I'm not used to seeing her be so dense... so smart on VM. Not so much in this movie... Blondes. Tch.

Not much to say about that movie other than there were some freakish moments but we're still kind of confused as to exactly what went on there. I might need to go watch the original Japanese movie to try to figure it out but as we all know, those Japanese are often hella confusing as is, so I expect no real clarity.

With 50 minutes to kill between the end of that movie and the beginning of The Descent, we decided that a bathroom break was in order and whatever else we could find to do.

So who knew that the AMC 25 had a terrace? But let me tell you people now, keep away from that damned terrace! It's really frickin' high up there. Beetchie was holding on for dear life but more importantly, we blame the terrace for making us get the only available seats located in the second row from the front. Ugh, eye hurt! And for those of you following, so we had 50 minutes and we still managed to get crappy seats but if you had to backpack it through that theatre, as Beetchie pointed out, you'd be late too!

With a sleepy giant kitty on my right, a The Descent veteran on my left, and a theatre full of crazy MFs, we settled down and prepped for gore-filled fun.

Some girls screaming next to us scared Beetchie. What I don't understand is this: haven't they ever watched horror movies before? Every 'scary' moment that came, I certainly knew was coming. The movie followed a simple horror formula. It was still cool though.

We then headed to Dave & Busters (Beetchie, I didn't know you had stock in that place. You do, don't you, Buster? - har har) for some Zombie killing action. My accuracy was 67% the first time and incredibly less the second. Uh, my rings hurt my shooting hand. I know, I'm supposed to aim for the head but I swear, that thing was not registering properly. Beetchie agrees with me. Our "House of the Dead 4" ranks - C & D after level 1. Our rank after level 2: unknown. We didn't make it that far. Zombies ate our brains! I hate me some zombies... Beetchie and I will go back and rock that another day with more money and more time. Oh yes. Oh yes.

WTF moment of the night:

This girl was on her idiot man's shoulders and I thought it was a kid. And she was reaching out to touch Beetchie's hair but then I realized that it wasn't a kid, it was a grown ass girl being a bitch because she thought it funny to mess with people on the street. Why the hell was that bitch messing with my friend? Don't touch her hair! I hate assholes. I was thinking I should trip him which would result in her falling off his shoulders and breaking her stupid face but I also thought, two giant black guys and one ghetto bitch against little me would probably land me in the hospital. Karma will get them and I'll be out of the hospital.

Quotes of the day:

"Oh HEEELLLLSSS NO. No Bitch, you betta' run yo' ass outta there! If it was a Chinese girl in that situation, you best believe her ass is gone. Why do you think there's so many of us in the world? We know how to act." - Beetchie, on Pulse.

"Oh no...poor Christina Milian. ::sad face:: She's too cute to die." - Franz.

"DAMNED TERRACE!" - Me.

"That Juno reminds me of Patty. It's Patty! And she's...hardcore. Don't mess with Patty! Yay, Patty! Oh, Patty's kind of scaring me." - Franz

"You killed her child, that ugly face that only an ugly mother can love! Oooooooo..." - Me.

"You know Franz, just because you can't keep your husband doesn't mean you have to take it out on me." - Me, on Franz leading us to salvation out of the cave in The Descent.

Currently listening to: "Is It Any Wonder?" by Keane. Or what HOchie 1 and I like to call it,

"Give me one last chance and you'll be satisfied.
Give me two chances and you won't be denied.
Well my heart is where it's always been,
My head is somewhere in between,
Give me one more chance,
Let me be your lover tonight.

Is it any wonder...? or was it, you're the real thing?
Even better than the real thing?"

Despite my just poking a little fun at them, while I'm on the subject of Keane, I must say I am incredibly impressed by their second album "Under the Iron Sea". It is an amazing piece of work. I'm actually saddened that I will not see them at the Hammerstein on September 13th. ::sniff:: I'll catch my crazy pianist 'hardcore rocker', Tim Rice-Oxley next time.

Pay Back is Fun!

Today TheHOchies and friends trekked to the movies to see "Slither".
If anyone was forced to watch that...sorry excuse for a movie otherwise known as scary movie 4, by people who call themselves friends, then be sure to go see "Slither" as your choice of movie payback. This is what TheHOchies did and it sure worked out for us. That movie was good times and the end song which I'm currently listening to is hilarious. Ahhh, good times...
Nathan Fillion is awesome.

All hail Caleb!!!!
