The End of Greatness

Those stupid assholes at CW have ruined things for us.

While we do not want to truly discuss it because it'll just really angry up the blood, this here is our tribute to one of the greatest shows in recent history.

3 years of the greatness that is Veronica Mars comes to an end.

Fantastic characters, interaction and development; detailed and cleverly written plots; wit; Logan and Veronica; Keith and Veronica - all things that made this show amazing and as expected, overlooked and tragically underrated.

::sob::

And so Veronica Mars has paid the price for being too clever a show and has drowned within the sea of television nonsense.

We bid thee farewell with frowns, crest fallen faces and teary hearts as we watch Veronica walk off in a chilly drizzle to the tune of "It Never Rains in Southern California", her future unknown but we can only hope it will be to a successful career with the FBI; Keith's fate uncertain but grim; Logan being Logan with his boyish grin and his confirmed love for the girl; and everyone else living their lives in Neptune, for now, blissfully ignorant to all the creepiness that certain citizens of Neptune are capable of executing.

The Start of a Horrible Birthday Month

1. The collapse of my shelf - dvds, cds and toys were ALL over this room. Thankfully, my WACOM seems to be intact as is my computer. And it could have been worse though, because I could have actually been sitting at my computer when it happened and let's just say I wouldn't be blogging right now or breathing, now that I think about it.

2. VM. Now, I watch pretty much only two shows on television during the tv season. I watch South Park and Veronica Mars. The season premiere of VM was on Tuesday and I was incredibly disappointed. The usually very intelligently written show has been dumbed down for CW viewers. Oh how angry I am. They better stop trying to sabotage my damned show or an angry letter will be penned and sent to the President of that network. ::shake fist::

3. Why Matt, why?! I lost the MUSE competition. I don't get a signed guitar. I don't get VIP tickets to any show in the UK and worst of all...I don't get to meet them. Clownie was right when he said my husband cheated on me. =( I am so sad right now. ::tear::

So maybe things aren't that horrible because I did have a good birthday in general. Thanks to my great friends who showered me with witty and thoughtful cards, stuffed me with donuts, candy and Dinosaur BBQ (three kinds of meat - oh yes! and wine that knocked me the f out), a really rich cake that almost did me in (but the thought of it was wonderful - thanks to the Char Kar), a HUGE Jack Skellington figure that I will hug as soon as I take it out of the box (thank you Beetchie! I love him dearly as you know) and some stylin' clothes that I've no clue on how to fit into after all the stuffing of food that went down yesterday.

So thank you to all - all except SF. SF has once again disappeared off the face of the planet and while my first thought is to make sure he's okay, I hear from my sources he's fine. Curse you, SF!

D-H F

The Internet Bringing Back the Dead (?), Cave People and Zombies, oh my!

This HOchie broke out of work early to do a Horror movie Double-Header Friday with good friends Beetchie and the Giant Kitty. Yes, Mitch *Connors*, Giant Kitty is SF.

We started out with Pulse. I knew this movie was going to be crap but being that I have a heterosexual girl crush on Suga'Face #1, Kristen Bell of Veronica Mars fame, I felt the need to go support her. And she truly is a Suga'Face but I'm not used to seeing her be so dense... so smart on VM. Not so much in this movie... Blondes. Tch.

Not much to say about that movie other than there were some freakish moments but we're still kind of confused as to exactly what went on there. I might need to go watch the original Japanese movie to try to figure it out but as we all know, those Japanese are often hella confusing as is, so I expect no real clarity.

With 50 minutes to kill between the end of that movie and the beginning of The Descent, we decided that a bathroom break was in order and whatever else we could find to do.

So who knew that the AMC 25 had a terrace? But let me tell you people now, keep away from that damned terrace! It's really frickin' high up there. Beetchie was holding on for dear life but more importantly, we blame the terrace for making us get the only available seats located in the second row from the front. Ugh, eye hurt! And for those of you following, so we had 50 minutes and we still managed to get crappy seats but if you had to backpack it through that theatre, as Beetchie pointed out, you'd be late too!

With a sleepy giant kitty on my right, a The Descent veteran on my left, and a theatre full of crazy MFs, we settled down and prepped for gore-filled fun.

Some girls screaming next to us scared Beetchie. What I don't understand is this: haven't they ever watched horror movies before? Every 'scary' moment that came, I certainly knew was coming. The movie followed a simple horror formula. It was still cool though.

We then headed to Dave & Busters (Beetchie, I didn't know you had stock in that place. You do, don't you, Buster? - har har) for some Zombie killing action. My accuracy was 67% the first time and incredibly less the second. Uh, my rings hurt my shooting hand. I know, I'm supposed to aim for the head but I swear, that thing was not registering properly. Beetchie agrees with me. Our "House of the Dead 4" ranks - C & D after level 1. Our rank after level 2: unknown. We didn't make it that far. Zombies ate our brains! I hate me some zombies... Beetchie and I will go back and rock that another day with more money and more time. Oh yes. Oh yes.

WTF moment of the night:

This girl was on her idiot man's shoulders and I thought it was a kid. And she was reaching out to touch Beetchie's hair but then I realized that it wasn't a kid, it was a grown ass girl being a bitch because she thought it funny to mess with people on the street. Why the hell was that bitch messing with my friend? Don't touch her hair! I hate assholes. I was thinking I should trip him which would result in her falling off his shoulders and breaking her stupid face but I also thought, two giant black guys and one ghetto bitch against little me would probably land me in the hospital. Karma will get them and I'll be out of the hospital.

Quotes of the day:

"Oh HEEELLLLSSS NO. No Bitch, you betta' run yo' ass outta there! If it was a Chinese girl in that situation, you best believe her ass is gone. Why do you think there's so many of us in the world? We know how to act." - Beetchie, on Pulse.

"Oh no...poor Christina Milian. ::sad face:: She's too cute to die." - Franz.

"DAMNED TERRACE!" - Me.

"That Juno reminds me of Patty. It's Patty! And she's...hardcore. Don't mess with Patty! Yay, Patty! Oh, Patty's kind of scaring me." - Franz

"You killed her child, that ugly face that only an ugly mother can love! Oooooooo..." - Me.

"You know Franz, just because you can't keep your husband doesn't mean you have to take it out on me." - Me, on Franz leading us to salvation out of the cave in The Descent.

Currently listening to: "Is It Any Wonder?" by Keane. Or what HOchie 1 and I like to call it,

"Give me one last chance and you'll be satisfied.
Give me two chances and you won't be denied.
Well my heart is where it's always been,
My head is somewhere in between,
Give me one more chance,
Let me be your lover tonight.

Is it any wonder...? or was it, you're the real thing?
Even better than the real thing?"

Despite my just poking a little fun at them, while I'm on the subject of Keane, I must say I am incredibly impressed by their second album "Under the Iron Sea". It is an amazing piece of work. I'm actually saddened that I will not see them at the Hammerstein on September 13th. ::sniff:: I'll catch my crazy pianist 'hardcore rocker', Tim Rice-Oxley next time.

A Sexy Marxist Revolutionary and other things...

Hochie 1... or 2 signing in.

Well, the Marxist Revolutionary was only really sexy in The Motorcycle Diaries which I just finished and loved. Gael Garcia Bernal is certainly a brontosaurus that gets better looking with every movie and he was voted one of the 25 Most Beautiful People by People magazine in 2002. Indeed HE is beautiful people. Heidi Klum and Seal's baby... Not so much. Some people may think it wrong to say anything negative about a baby but this is not negativity but truth. The KlumSeal baby may grow to be a decent looking body but for now ... not so much. Alright. Done.

I made friends with a salad today. Whee.

Veronica Mars was not so good yesterday. That show is great overall but I am not loving these filler bunny eps not to mention that Logan was not in it for more than a minute at the end.

So, some of us now think that our office is bugged in which case I am in a heck of a lot of trouble for the things I rant about when I think I am being private in my office. That or someone on the side of the wall is the biggest MaCo, rivalling any Trini I ever met. Either way, very unsettling. We were angry elves today.

I know that some may think Kanye West is probably a strange opening act for a U2 concert but if I were there I would be all over that GoldDigger.

I am all over the place today but that explains the "other things". Yahweh, what a lame blog entry! Ah well, it's half my blog.

I wonder what Horace did today? We have to introduce you to Horace sometime.

Laters.

Things I loathe today: Mice, People who have nothing better to do than skulk around listening to other people's conversations, Cold mornings and cold nights, Being hungry at 4pm, Spicy Chili Nissin Cup Noodles, Senators who are millionares winning lotteries, Strudeldoodles, Barbie.

Things I adore today: Drowning KuSephs, Hochie 0r 2, Spongebob Squarepants, Pumpekins, JazzieB, Sleep.

Song for the day: Quisiera Ser by Alejandro Sanz - yet another good-looking people.
