S8: 24 HC 12 AM to 1 AM

12 AM to 1 AM:

I missed the entire bit where Anil's brother ended up with these new people. What happened to the Russian traitor? Is he ded? I only counted 2 for the HC and I think I might be wrong.

Frass or MC, please fill me in.
I did laugh when Quasimodo asked Jack if he was "in" and Jack did a symbolic moving of his messenger bag strap over his shoulder. That showed that in all the running he would do in the future, that thing won't move unless moved by Jack. That, my friends, is how you know he's serious.

You know I had to go look up Freddie Prinze Jr. to see if he was born and raised Crooklyn, right? I knew it wasn't true because that was one bad tough guy accent.

Head Count: 2. Is Kevin really ded? Not sure but he sure should be.

Greatness!

Erik King's small role in Burn Notice today was so perfectly executed and such a fantastic form of tribute to Dexter that it has me gushing!!!!

When his name appeared in the opening guest star credits, I couldn't place quite place where I knew him from.  However, when he showed up and I realised it was Doakes and then Michael Weston stuck that needle in his neck...

That, my friends, was brilliantly funny television.

S8: 24 HC - 6 PM to 8 PM

6 PM to 7 PM:

What's with the bad accents and menly women this season? It's not that there's anything wrong with that but it's just not cute.

Okay, way to make black people and hispanics look like jerks.  Good going Fox.  What neighbourhood is this? Crooklyn.  I think you Crooklynites should get to arms in protest.  This is BS.  I do however enjoy that the Asian is the good cop.

The story with the menly women is pointless and now it's getting nasty like MC.  Also this Kevin seems a bit scuzzy and reminds me of an Alaskan named Todd.  Ew.

OMG, I can't wait for Jack Bauer to beat the shit out of that cop.  But how come they make NYC cops look like shit? I don't think I like how they're portraying NY in 24.  I might be taking offense!

Head Count: 2

7 PM - 8 PM:

So when is it that Freddy Prince Jr.'s character will die? How come he's trying to be hardcore like Bauer?

Um, why all of a sudden the wife is all concerned about her husband? And like I said, you never trust an Indian with long hair and a helatious goatie thingie like Tony A. used to sport.  He offed that guy with a pen! That was pretty slick but now I feel sorry for the pen.

Chloe's sass isn't going over will with Hastings but does it go over well with anyone other than myself?

Ugh, Lork.  Do we really HAVE to bring back Renee Walker? Do we? She'll never be Bauer! And does she have to be such a bitch all the damned time? I'm not sure what she thinks Jack did to her other than laugh when that idiot boss of hers Larry died or maybe I was the one laughing but in any event, she should stop her rubbish behaviour.

On second thought, maybe I don't want to mess with her after that hand scene.  She just went all Wendy Testaburger.  If there's one thing you don't do, it's eff with Wendy Testaburger.

The way they were focusing on Eugene's body, I was half expecting him to Zombify or be that creepy liver/bile needing mutant like his role on the X-Files.  ::shudder:: Zombies in CTU! It'd all be over then.  Turns out it was just radiation material.  Meh.

Head Count: 3, plus one hand.  Yeesh.

Not a Bad Miss

H1 has informed me that Hulu has the entire series thus far (series 1 through 5) of Peep Show!

Peep Show is only one of the greatest shows in recent history and I demand everyone watch!

Ah, we can't wait to see Series 6.  Oh what craziness have Jez, Mark and Su'Hands been creating, I wonder.

I wonder when Series 6 is going to be on...

No Words

There are no words to describe the season finale of Dexter.  I was fully expecting what happened but it does not make it any less horrible.

And her face was so pretty while lying in the pool of blood.

That is what gets me most ... because it was the beauty and fascination of Trinity's sister that led to the entire cycle of serial murders.

I'm not sure how next season is going to be handled.

Why aren't the rest of you watching this damned show?!

Awww, Ulqui

I can't believe you were offed but at least you didn't go out like a punk.

I'm still hating on Tite Kubo.

Update: Y&R

Back in 2006, we wrote about the most shocking revelation in Genoa City's history.

However, we were alerted to an even more shocking turn of events.

Grey clouds have darkened G.C., my friends.

Brad/George the Jew is no more.

He died while trying to save a teenage Noah from a not so frozen pond.

We didn't get the details but if it's that pond on the ranch, I could have sworn that thing has caused trouble in the past!

H1 and Or 2 believe that Brad/George the Jew was killed off because the execs at Y&R (and I'm looking at Victoria) are racist.

Currently: feeling sorry for George Kaplan.

Obsession(s) of the Week(s): 11/10/08 - 12/15/08

Dragon Quest IV

Being a Weapons' Dealer?

That's awesome! For a while I played as a Merchant named Taloon (I think that's what it was) and who knew being on the side of the selling could be so much fun? Well, we all know how I hate to spend my hard-earned, monster dropped monies - so selling weapons to louts really worked out for me.

Soul Eater

With Professor Franken Stein. I love how cute he is - got white hair, glasses, has a great voice actor, a sense of humour, bad-assed, a giant screw in his head...

...and is damned freaking insane.

Everything can be dissected. Self included.

Justin Law

Another great character from Soul Eater, which has proven to become quite a shock fest, action-filled, great art and edgey anime. Justin's a sweetie - A priest who travels around the world with a sense of happiness to kill. Did he bring enough coffins? And what Japanese Rap/Rock track are we listening to?

Hidan

Hidan is indeed that bastard that killed Asuma. And while I only stopped crying last week, a month after the death, I actually like that foul-mouthed Akatsuki member. "Oye! Fuck you, Kakuzu! Whose side are you on?" Yeah. Fuck me because I don't know whose side I'm on either - Akatsuki or Konoha.

Hidan and his crazy rituals. He may hate the lengthy rituals himself, but they're part of his faith and he has to follow through. He's particulary strict (and extremely fond) of the part about leaving no target alive.

Rock Band 2

I swear, I don't know over half the songs in RB2 but it's been an even more fun experience even though the changes were slight in-game. I do miss my square on my chest for my girl which everyone seems to hate, but I created my love Zarnyx. He's not perfectly Zarnyx but he works for me. I'm sure you A.s like H1 will hate him too. Other than that, RB2 is fun times that I can't wait to share with Beetchie!

Sucked into "Combat!"

Sons left the television on this channel called "American Life" because she was reminiscing over some Remington Steel. As a side note, I was scorned for never watching it but that was before my time!

After she left to go to the store and I was busily organizing my bag of goodies and doing some work, I realised there was some black and white show going on after Remington Steel was over.

H1 and I are pretty hasty to dismiss anything in black and white but I noticed there was a soldier hanging from a church steeple and his comrades were trying their best to get him to shut his delirium. Why? Because the Germans were right below them and they'd get caught.

"What is this mess?" I thought. I knew the name of it because I saw the opening credits, which by the way was pretty impressive.

And so, I ended up watching Combat!, a show about two soldiers in WWII. I don't know if they were stationed all over Europe but in this episode, they were in France.

There was so much that could go wrong and did but so much that 'conveniently' happened, all so that the American soldiers could make it to safety, while the Nazis were all gunned down.

It was pretty typical in that sense but there was some grand cleverness to that show too including the Americans hiding out in the Belfry but suffering for Mass. With the bell being tolled right within earshot, they were hurting but not deaf afterward.

The other thing I really liked about it was that everyone spoke their respective languages and there were NO SUBTITLES! They could have been saying ridiculousness in German and French but I would never have known!

When the priest went to the German commanding office to tell him to get the presumable dead American soldier from the steeple, he went through 3 languages before finally asking him if he spoke English, to which the German Commanding Officer smugly and smirking all over said yes.

One German soldier decided to take the boots off the American because his boots were tattered unlike the corpse hanging from the steeple. It cost him his life and his entire squad but the drama in the rescue that incorporated the boots story was greatness.

Oh, and one more thing. The best part about that show was the episode title.

It was called 'The Steeple'.

I know I'll research this later and find out it was a really popular show and be persecuted for not knowing it.

Not without its flaws (like really, how did the Americans hear anything the Germans said from that distance?) or overwhelming patriotism Combat! made for interesting times and made me waste 1 hour watching and 20 minutes blogging, when I came home early to get rest from catching the cold from Alpha Monkey Boobey-Head, Beta Goat Luuuuiiiisss and Omega Ostrich H1.

"Fucking Albert Chung"

I've not been enjoying this season of Dexter, as I'm unclear as to what direction they're taking this show in.

Last night's episode though was incredibly well-written.

The scenes with Carmilla were amazing. Michael C. Hall did a great job - he was rigid, then uncomfortable almost, almost human but ultimately confused. As a serial killer with no emotions, I think he acted it smoothly. He was unsure of his actions and the territory he was in and the Margo Martindale who plays Carmilla, I felt, made a convincing case that had me questioning why assisted suicide is illegal in certain cases.

It was painful to watch but delivered the best episode of the season based not on the usual anxiety but the sheer power of the cast.

And then of course, there was Masuka.

Not without some sort of clever wit as Dexter usually has, the not-seen-enough-this-season Masuka was on a roll last night. I can't do it any justice but it was classic.

Memorable Quotes from Dexter 9/09/08:

Dexter: The murderer did this in his socks. These are not shoe prints, they're sock prints.
Masuka: Sock prints... sock prints... Ugh.
Dexter: What?
Masuka: I know who did this. Fucking Albert Chung!
::later::
Dexter: Why is this bothering you so much?
Masuka: Because he's Asian! He's making the rest of us look bad. Tch. And Asians are supposed to be smart. Ha.
::later still::
Masuka, while reading the newspaper after A.C's capture: Fucking Albert Chung.
Dexter: You know, he looks like you.
Masuka: That's called racism. Tch... Wait. He really does look like me.

Must See Conan Before He Leaves For The West Coast

Reasons to love Conan O'Brien, Steve Colbert (I like him better than that other Steve!) and Jon Stewart:

They are brilliant.

And only the best song was used during that fight too.

A Message to MC

Way to live the double life, Mitch C.

We never knew you had a starring role but we always knew you were a ruffian and a slag -

"Mitch, the feisty son of Zaphod and Flower. He was a bit of a bully when he was a pup; he stole food from other pups, and attacked Sophie with no reason. He was once on the verge of death after eating scorpions he stole from adults and siblings, but survived and has somewhat filled the void left by Shakespeare's disappearance and presumed death. When a gang of teenage meerkats, led by Mitch's sister Kinkajou, abandoned him when he was a small pup, he was later rescued by his older brother. He once tried to mate with Marilyn of the Lazuli but was chased off by the other babysitters."

It's Embarrassing...

...But I know who to call when I want some pepperoni.

And it's not MC.

I can't believe I remember the song.

Oh Green Day, Why?

Yeah. I don't know what the hell was up with that 2 hour crap fest American Idol had going tonight but Mama HOchie watches, so it was on.

What really disturbed me though, was the fact that I came downstairs at one point, looked at the television and saw Green Day performing on AI's stage.

What?

I'm still confused but I guess Billy Joe was as well because at the end of the performance, he looked around at the audience who were applauding and had the cutest look of 'wtf. These people don't even truly KNOW us. Ah well. Freaks.'

The bottomline really though was that Mike Dirnt looked great to me, as per usual.

- Or 2, crushing on every member of Green Day beginning 1994, starting with Tre then Billy and now Mike.

The End of Greatness

Those stupid assholes at CW have ruined things for us.

While we do not want to truly discuss it because it'll just really angry up the blood, this here is our tribute to one of the greatest shows in recent history.

3 years of the greatness that is Veronica Mars comes to an end.

Fantastic characters, interaction and development; detailed and cleverly written plots; wit; Logan and Veronica; Keith and Veronica - all things that made this show amazing and as expected, overlooked and tragically underrated.

::sob::

And so Veronica Mars has paid the price for being too clever a show and has drowned within the sea of television nonsense.

We bid thee farewell with frowns, crest fallen faces and teary hearts as we watch Veronica walk off in a chilly drizzle to the tune of "It Never Rains in Southern California", her future unknown but we can only hope it will be to a successful career with the FBI; Keith's fate uncertain but grim; Logan being Logan with his boyish grin and his confirmed love for the girl; and everyone else living their lives in Neptune, for now, blissfully ignorant to all the creepiness that certain citizens of Neptune are capable of executing.

A Few Words on Frass

In the Evolution of Frass, some may argue that there was a missed stage or two.

Let us review.

SF-->Giant Kitty-->SAF-->Taylor Hicks-->Frass

You'd be partially right. We did forget "Taylor Hicks" but Giant Kitty was never a missed stage. That title was self-imposed and therefore unacceptable.

We now need to add a new stage.

H1: Why does Joey Fatone's face look like wax? He looks like Frass.

Quote of the day: "How could someone who is a Trini and not a Chinee be the one responsible for writing out checks at their job?!" - X, while pondering Frass' job situation.

They make you want to dig them out

There is a reason that the HOchies do not watch NUMB3RS. All the actors nya are hard on the eyes.
