Picture of the Day

Some 125,000 gorillas were found living happily in a swamp area in the Congo. Not only did scientists/researchers find a boost a population of an endangered species but they also found this:

H1 questions whether or not that monkey's thinking "Yay! You found us!" or "Get the eff out of hya, Asshats!"

Currently listening to: "Mini-boss: Great Toad" by Koji Kondo and Toru Minegishi, from The Legend of Zelda: The Twilight Princess Original Soundtrack. It just occurred to me that this sounds a bit like "Quina's Theme" from Final Fantasy IX. Heehee, that reminds me of H1.

Eenterestin'

There's something not quite right about this picture with Bugs Bunny...

Hmmm...

Oh, we see it now. His ears look a bit too long.

Oh Suckage!

Hmmm. Well, I've let Matt down. As of this moment, I cannot play more than 76% of "Knights of Cydonia" on Medium mode in GHIII.

I am horrid.

Yet, I could rival Lou the Devil for more than half a minute.

Curious.

Currently watching: Beetchie trying to take down Lou The Devil. She'll rock it! But who knew the devil was such an asshole?

We Are So Confused

While it may be kind of cool that Tom Jones knows enough of them to do a "tribute" such as this...

we still have to ask two things:

what do our boys think of this?

and why...

was...

this...

allowed...

to...

happen...

Dodaars

Contrary to popular belief, the dodo was not hunted into extinction by humans for its delectable meat (in fact, sources reveal that the meat may have actually been unsavory) or by humans directly.

Rather, animals such as the Crab-eating Macaque may have played a role in the Dodo demise of the 17th Century.

However, I'm not even sure those things exist! According to this photo found on www.wikipedia.org,

I don't see any crab-eating macaques around here, do you?

All I see is a popsicle-fancying macaque.

Oh Green Day, Why?

Yeah. I don't know what the hell was up with that 2 hour crap fest American Idol had going tonight but Mama HOchie watches, so it was on.

What really disturbed me though, was the fact that I came downstairs at one point, looked at the television and saw Green Day performing on AI's stage.

What?

I'm still confused but I guess Billy Joe was as well because at the end of the performance, he looked around at the audience who were applauding and had the cutest look of 'wtf. These people don't even truly KNOW us. Ah well. Freaks.'

The bottomline really though was that Mike Dirnt looked great to me, as per usual.

- Or 2, crushing on every member of Green Day beginning 1994, starting with Tre then Billy and now Mike.

Another Missed Step

We're not necessarily obsessed; we're just amending the blog as our memories return.

There is another missed step in the Evolution of Frass and it falls between Taylor Hicks and Frass.

And so we were thinking, we've never actually seen Frass without a cap. The picture below is a pretty accurate representation of Frass as we know him (in missed step number 4):

So what would he look like without a cap? We can only speculate.

Shit. We forgot yet another. Tenderfoot. That's currently interchangeable with Frass, depending on the situation. Especially situations involving a JWFR.

Currently listening to: "505" by Arctic Monkeys.

It's Time To Play Or 2's Clues

Our adventure begins, not in a house full of animated pepper, salt & paprika shakers or talking mail boxes but actually on the train.

Instead of showing you all little stories of love, friendship and lending a helping hand (yes I know, it's sad to not ska-doo into pictures), I will just cut right to the chase and lay out Or 2's clues for you. So let's play and see if you can figure out what happened to Or 2 on her way home from work. But before all that, when you see "@*!$*&@?!!", it means you've struck upon an Or 2 Clue.

Settling into my seat, chatting with the BFF some and then drowning everyone out when -

"@*!$*&@?!!"

In our handy-dandy sketch book, we have this -

Then came the silence, then came the manual ipod switch, then came the boom, then came this "@*!$*&@?!!" :

A sigh of relief until the screen showed this "@*!$*&@?!!":

Literally. That is what I have on the screen. I mean, it confused me some because that image is of a second generation I believe and I think I've a 4th. So mmmaaaybe it doesn't apply to Zarnyx? ...

I was trying my darndest to take a picture but the train lighting messed things up for me so I did the next best thing which was to draw it in my handy-dandy sketchbook.

Now can ANYONE take a guess as to watch Or 2's Train Adventure was about?

Needless to say, Steve Jobs better come reaaaaal good next week at MacWorld or Chrissy's going to get an ass-cutting from me.

And I had this brilliant plan to forfeit upgrading this year, taking the same amount of money it'd cost to buy an 80gb for use in a weekend escape plan to London to see MUSE.

I see overkill overtime in my very near future...

Currently listening to: Well it certainly isn't my Ipod.

Oh, one last thing. Arctic Monkeys killed my Ipod.

Hot Hot Heat

This post is in honour of X.

X at the bus stop:

"Oh my god! A pigeon was trying to get away from a car and flew straight into me!"

X on coconuts:

"I wanted one jelly nut and he brought me 10 water nuts! So I threw a tantrum for 4 hours and kicked his shoes down the hallway, then kicked them back up the hallway!"

X 'on fire' (and hence name of this blog post):

"I always think I'm hotter than I really am."

Y&R

I know we all like to keep that we watch this show on the dl but being a staple of Trini viewing back in the day (even a displaced Trini such as myself knows that you just don't call people house from 12.30 PM to 1.30 PM Monday through Friday), I had to write about the assness that went down on yesterday's episode.

HOchie 1 called me up laughing hysterically. And here's why -

So Brad Carlton, yes the very same ugly Brad Carlton (but for some reason they all make it like he's hot...bleck) we all grew up watching has been for 20 years living the double life!
No surprise, right? Honestly that's what everyone does. Next they'll be telling you he's been playing his evil twin (unless that already happened).

Well. The biggest news this side of Genoa City:

BC's biggest secret is that he's...

JEWISH!

Take a moment to breathe.

And just because he put on his yarmulke don't mean you gotta be all racist, Victoria. Now she wants out of the marriage. Ah.

This show has reached its height of stupidity.

Let us end it now, much like John Abbot.

D-H F

The Internet Bringing Back the Dead (?), Cave People and Zombies, oh my!

This HOchie broke out of work early to do a Horror movie Double-Header Friday with good friends Beetchie and the Giant Kitty. Yes, Mitch *Connors*, Giant Kitty is SF.

We started out with Pulse. I knew this movie was going to be crap but being that I have a heterosexual girl crush on Suga'Face #1, Kristen Bell of Veronica Mars fame, I felt the need to go support her. And she truly is a Suga'Face but I'm not used to seeing her be so dense... so smart on VM. Not so much in this movie... Blondes. Tch.

Not much to say about that movie other than there were some freakish moments but we're still kind of confused as to exactly what went on there. I might need to go watch the original Japanese movie to try to figure it out but as we all know, those Japanese are often hella confusing as is, so I expect no real clarity.

With 50 minutes to kill between the end of that movie and the beginning of The Descent, we decided that a bathroom break was in order and whatever else we could find to do.

So who knew that the AMC 25 had a terrace? But let me tell you people now, keep away from that damned terrace! It's really frickin' high up there. Beetchie was holding on for dear life but more importantly, we blame the terrace for making us get the only available seats located in the second row from the front. Ugh, eye hurt! And for those of you following, so we had 50 minutes and we still managed to get crappy seats but if you had to backpack it through that theatre, as Beetchie pointed out, you'd be late too!

With a sleepy giant kitty on my right, a The Descent veteran on my left, and a theatre full of crazy MFs, we settled down and prepped for gore-filled fun.

Some girls screaming next to us scared Beetchie. What I don't understand is this: haven't they ever watched horror movies before? Every 'scary' moment that came, I certainly knew was coming. The movie followed a simple horror formula. It was still cool though.

We then headed to Dave & Busters (Beetchie, I didn't know you had stock in that place. You do, don't you, Buster? - har har) for some Zombie killing action. My accuracy was 67% the first time and incredibly less the second. Uh, my rings hurt my shooting hand. I know, I'm supposed to aim for the head but I swear, that thing was not registering properly. Beetchie agrees with me. Our "House of the Dead 4" ranks - C & D after level 1. Our rank after level 2: unknown. We didn't make it that far. Zombies ate our brains! I hate me some zombies... Beetchie and I will go back and rock that another day with more money and more time. Oh yes. Oh yes.

WTF moment of the night:

This girl was on her idiot man's shoulders and I thought it was a kid. And she was reaching out to touch Beetchie's hair but then I realized that it wasn't a kid, it was a grown ass girl being a bitch because she thought it funny to mess with people on the street. Why the hell was that bitch messing with my friend? Don't touch her hair! I hate assholes. I was thinking I should trip him which would result in her falling off his shoulders and breaking her stupid face but I also thought, two giant black guys and one ghetto bitch against little me would probably land me in the hospital. Karma will get them and I'll be out of the hospital.

Quotes of the day:

"Oh HEEELLLLSSS NO. No Bitch, you betta' run yo' ass outta there! If it was a Chinese girl in that situation, you best believe her ass is gone. Why do you think there's so many of us in the world? We know how to act." - Beetchie, on Pulse.

"Oh no...poor Christina Milian. ::sad face:: She's too cute to die." - Franz.

"DAMNED TERRACE!" - Me.

"That Juno reminds me of Patty. It's Patty! And she's...hardcore. Don't mess with Patty! Yay, Patty! Oh, Patty's kind of scaring me." - Franz

"You killed her child, that ugly face that only an ugly mother can love! Oooooooo..." - Me.

"You know Franz, just because you can't keep your husband doesn't mean you have to take it out on me." - Me, on Franz leading us to salvation out of the cave in The Descent.

Currently listening to: "Is It Any Wonder?" by Keane. Or what HOchie 1 and I like to call it,

"Give me one last chance and you'll be satisfied.
Give me two chances and you won't be denied.
Well my heart is where it's always been,
My head is somewhere in between,
Give me one more chance,
Let me be your lover tonight.

Is it any wonder...? or was it, you're the real thing?
Even better than the real thing?"

Despite my just poking a little fun at them, while I'm on the subject of Keane, I must say I am incredibly impressed by their second album "Under the Iron Sea". It is an amazing piece of work. I'm actually saddened that I will not see them at the Hammerstein on September 13th. ::sniff:: I'll catch my crazy pianist 'hardcore rocker', Tim Rice-Oxley next time.

Random

Did anyone else notice that Kelly Clarkson's "Walk Away" sounds suspiciously like Tony! Toni! Tone!'s "If I Had No Loot"?

Also, that new song by Fort Minor "Where'd You Go" is horrendous.
I really don't have much against Shinoda for the most part...but that song irritates me. And it doesn't help when HOchie 1 calls me up just so I can hear it playing in the background.
I hate it when I might have to support Mike Shinoda ONLY because he did a collaboration with Kenna. I suppose though that I'd really be supporting Kenna... yes. That's it.

Finally, I would like to thank Ticketmaster for allowing me to be arsed out of seeing Radiohead.
But I won't be a little crybaby about this one. And that's only due to the fact that I can just hear Thom in my head taunting me.
And I am not Scott Tennorman.

Currently listening to: "Vicarious" by Tool.
Now there's a band. A band that is thoroughly disturbing me right now but they're hella' awesome. I am most impressed by Maynard's vocal work and musically, they're amazing.

Giant Castles Give Me The Jibblies

I hate giant towns and I hate giant castles even more. It's no secret I can get lost in a circular room or cough.. St. Marks ..cough and that counts for virtual castles too. And if you're so damned rich, why not fix the mouse hole in the left tower instead of trying to hide it with ugly clay jars? At LEAST put some valuables in the clay jars so that I may steal them...sheesh.

Here's what I learnt so far from Dragon Quest VIII:

The thought of being tortured at dawn is not fun. Also, finding out that The Cheat is throwing an after-torture party and inviting all to it and encouraging them to bring eats is also not fun.

Prince Charmles is a stupid name but quite fitting of tubby, ugly (tubbgly?) prince with a lisp*. Note: *Married = Mawwied.

You just don't mess with Jesters. I suspect though, that only applies to Jesters who don't wear the trade mark Jesters' hat. I was actually confused as to why he was called a jester... no j hat = confused me.

Angelo is goo'd looking.

It's not exactly something I learnt but more of a 'let's try not to think about it' kind of situation. Witches and sirens can occasionally 'give you their best puff puff' - the screen then turns to mountains, birds...and hearts surround your character's head with the tagline "you get a big grin on your face and you become absolutely enthralled". What's funny though:

1. A Witch tried to do that to my girl once but my girl laughed triumphantly that she stacked better. Lesbian? It's highly doubtful. Not that there's anyting wrong with that.

2. I'm (and I play the main male character in the game) often not impressed by the puff puff. Gay? Well... Angelo IS goo'd looking, afterall. And there's nothing wrong with that.

On Dancing:

1. I dance a little bit like Carlton Banks. Snap those fingers - Yeah!
2. Yangus dances like he's a fairy. A really fat fairy. And I thoroughly enjoy watching it.
3. Jessica's been wearing the dancer's outfit for hours but she still ain't got no flava'.
4. Angelo dances like the coolness he is.

And when you find a Zombie Mail and its description reads: ill fated suite of armour... despite how alluring the 42+ defence sounds to you - DON'T PUT IT ON. You can't rock it like nobody's buisness. It rocks you. And costs you 750 gold pieces to unrock.
