We love the Brits and that's not a shocker to any of you lot, right?
What's not to love?
Among other things but just to name a few, there's Doctor Who, The Beatles, Peep Show, Heinz baked beans, the Crown Jewel (Bird's Custard, for you heathens), Harry Hotness, and Stockholm Syndrome.
Oh. Well the last part is just a sad bit of my nature that you need not worry about.
And then there's BBC America that allows us to enjoy just some of the greatness of British television.
They've got the best sense of humour and for those who deny, such people must not be very humourous.
Honestly, what's not to love about this advert which is so brilliantly marketed?

Ruining Christmas
How old was I when I ruined Christmas?
I must have been pretty young when I was gifted that doll.
I crept my way to the presents lying all pretty under the Christmas tree, and tried to unsuccessfully garner a peak inside at this rectangular box that captured my eye.
Back then my secret planning and clever trickery skills were not developed, and fumbled my chance at a clean escape.
I ripped the wrapping paper - a long strip of it actually, right on the front of the box.
"What is it? So what did you get?", a stern familiar voice called.
"I don't know...?" I replied.
"You don't know and the big dolly eye watching you?" was the retort from Momma HO.
I reminded her of this story this past week and she told me that she should have slapped me for opening the present.
"Wait," I said, "you would smack me for opening the present...."
"Yes! You ruined the surprise for Christmas morning!"
"...but you wouldn't smack me for lying?"
"Oh...uh, Yes! For lying!"
"Seriously, Lady! Where are your priorities?!"
Hilarious.
Also! Happy (Yesterday) Birtday, Momma Ho! I wonder if your sons remembered your birthday...hrrm? TD5, Frass, and MC?!?!?!

Greatness!
Erik King's small role in Burn Notice today was so perfectly executed and such a fantastic form of tribute to Dexter that it has me gushing!!!!
When his name appeared in the opening guest star credits, I couldn't place quite place where I knew him from. However, when he showed up and I realised it was Doakes and then Michael Weston stuck that needle in his neck...
That, my friends, was brilliantly funny television.

Distress on the face...

You know, I think there was a dime at the bottom of that bowl too.
The things a person can shit out when scared...

Harry Hotness
This is the name Alex and H1 have been giving the Prince, and even though he may be a Mauby, he's a riot, that one.
The Prince is currently visiting NYC and this picture was posted on the blogs (DListed, I think) yesterday, showing that yep, even little girls know the hotness.
I couldn't stop laughing at this yesterday:

My Favourite Horrow (Hollow)
I know, H1 is racist. That is what she calls them.
Today we were re-watching episodes of Bleach because I wanted to see my favourite boy Hirako Shinji the first time he shows up.
Guess who I forgot about?
My favourite Hollow!

Bwahahahaha, the Hollow said he was medium!
That right there, is just damned classic Bleach.

Baaahahahaha
Here's an article I found on Gamespot that is wrong on all levels.
A black sheep? Speaking street?
Oh, Nintendo.
Oh, Animal Crossing; it's no wonder this game cracks me up some.

Every now and then, game companies' PR and marketing backfires. Sony's 2007 God of War II promotional party featuring a decapitated goat made Fortune's list of the 101 Dumbest Business Moments of the year. Then there was the Wii port of Okami, for which Capcom swiped cover art from gaming site IGN--and forgot to remove the watermark.

This week sees another such misstep, this committed by Nintendo in an effort to promote the interoperability of the recently released Animal Crossing: City Folk with 2005's Animal Crossing: Wild World for the DS. To allow members of the media the chance to check out the function, Nintendo sent out copies of Wild World with a saved city already on it.
But as spotted by MTV Multiplayer and confirmed by GameSpot, not everyone in the city was very neighborly. Specifically, the character of Baarbara the sheep greets players by using a racial epithet (pictured) in a modified form commonly used as a greeting in hip-hop culture. The line also includes a line of dialogue from the film Full Metal Jacket that Asian-Americans might find offensive. Wild World lets players customize greetings, and it appears that the objectionable wording was inserted using that function.
Although embarrassing, the Animal Crossing N-word flap doesn't rank alongside the game industry's biggest PR fiascos. Those include Microsoft's steady drumbeat of denials of widespread Xbox 360 failures in the months leading up to its $1 billion admission that the "Red Red Ring of Death" was all too common. The Big Kahuna of publicity trainwrecks came in 2005, when Take-Two Interactive insisted that the "Hot Coffee" sex minigames in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas were the work of PC hackers...just days before the minigames were found hidden in the unalterable PlayStation 2 version of the game.
[UPDATE] True to its word, a contrite Nintendo issued a statement to GameSpot apologizing for any offense and promising to recall the offending copies of the game from media outlets.
"Previously played copies of the 2005 DS game Animal Crossing: Wild World were sent to 14 members of the media to demonstrate the ability of players to transfer items to the new Animal Crossing: City Folk for Wii," said the publisher. "We regret that an offensive phrase was included without our knowledge via a wireless function that allows user-generated catchphrases to spread virally from one game to the next. This version is limited to 14 copies created for media review purposes only and is not available at retailers. We sincerely apologize for the incident and are working with media who received the game cards to return them to Nintendo immediately."

Burn!
It was an insult to Paramore and Hot Topic.
I was playing Rock Band 2 last night and chose some song in Austin TX. I think it was Sonic Youth but I'm not sure. Whatever it was, it was totally cool rock song by a considered to be cool rock band.
The joker creators at Rock Band tossed Zarnyx a question.
Essentially I was asked, "Hot Topic wants to sponsor your gig but wants you to sing Paramore's 'That's What You Get' instead. You'll get lots of cash for it. Do you want to switch songs?"
Well, that certainly sounded fishy - Hot Topic and Paramore in one sentence? Yeah. I mean, it sounds about right but suspect at best.
Anyone who knows Paramore is probably an emo I don't want to deal with. Probably. The lead singer surely is an annoying little emo girl but I digress.
Anyone who knows Hot Topic knows that it was slightly cool when it was unknown all the years when. And then emo happened and Hot Topic thought they should go in the direction of the Emo. You can't really blame them because Emo kids are usually privileged children who have their parents money (and lots of it), self-made depression, and less than stellar taste in music.
Beetchie, shut up! I am not Emo! And I'm not whining, that was a forceful "Shut Your Ass" kind of Shut Up, I can assure you.
I digress again.
So, lured by curiosity and extra money to get more piercings (not that I would spend money without your approval, Band Manager H1), I went ahead and sold out.
After I finished the gig, Rock Band made sure to drive it hard that I had Sold Out in case I was Emo and didn't realise that having Hot Topic sponsor me and singing Paramore is anything but the coolest thing since crying.

You see that, right?
I LOST 30,000 fans.
Ahahaha. That was true greatness. I only got $250 too. Tch. Cheap bastards.
To the assholes who are paying attention to the fact that I got five stars on Paramore, it's just that like that time with that ass song by Fall Out Boy, I had to learn the damned song in order not to fail and I'd be damned if I let any of those assholes make me a fail a song.
Anyway.
They're grainy but here are some pictures of my beloved Zarnyx in Rock Band 2 form. I'll take better pictures at some point.

He is of course, wearing an awesome red jacket that he was born with, Band Manager H1 and not bought without consulting you first.
Currently listening to: "Get Clean" by Anarchy Club. I finally found this song. I didn't unlock it yet in Rock Band 2 but I always hear it at the start up load screen and I love the music. The lyrics leave much to be desired but I can just ignore them.

For Once, A Canadian Gets Something Right
That attack on Noel Gallagher at V. Fest in Toronto while on stage? H-i-l-a-r-i-o-u-s!
Okay, so it's not cool for anyone to get attacked especially since the crazy Canadian could have done worse than push Noel down but as much as I like the three or four songs by Oasis that I'm really familiar with, either I have to listen to their albums again or will never understand the fascination by the Ukkers with those obnoxious assholes.
And that push was damned funny even though, it's wrong to laugh.
Here's hoping I don't get pushed at Janet Jackson, or that she has another wardrobe malfunction because with the up close and personal seats that Frass got, that would NOT be what I want to see.
::shudder::
Currently listening to: my shuddering.

Time Off
It was not exactly how I wanted to spend a semi self-imposed early dismissal yesterday but when we left work at 2:30 PM, there was much to be done.
Poor Boobey has been ill so he went to the doctor. That was at 4:20.
Then we went to the DMV to renew H1's license. That lasted only 30 minutes.
However, there's almost always something amusing to find and that's no exception at the DMV, a place full of misfits, miscreants, miffed government workers and less than merry customers.
The amusement of the time spent there involved the pen dispenser.

For 25 cents, one could get a pen that is FULLY GUARANTEED to work. The pen and the machine, I think are both guaranteed to work. H1 thinks that's a lie since they look like the same damned pens that have been there for 4 years now.
But it was interesting to note that, in case the GUARANTEED to work pen didn't work, you could call for service.
You know, just in case.

If you noticed though, you can't really because all the service number stickers have been scratched out.
I guess they stand by their earlier claim of fully functional equipment.
As H1 and I discovered, even with 25 cent pens, people will always go for free, even if free is tethered to a metal chain -

Currently listening to: "Vaati's Wrath" by Mitsuhiko Takano, from The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap Original Soundtrack.

More Idiot Than Savant
Once upon a time, in the land of Denial, there lived an IS named Mitch *Connors*...uh I mean... an IS named Mooch *Cunnurs* (identity changed so as not to protect the seemingly innocent).
MC lived a quiet life in gloomy ole Rochester, counseling the troubled youth of America. Uh, make that Rochester.
MC was loved by all but was not without enemies. Actually, his only true self-proclaimed enemy was pork. Although not much is known as to where this animosity between MC and the pork emerged, one thing was 'certain'... Pork was the Babylon Meat.
One day at a local pizza parlor while treating said troubled youth to some lunch,
little did he know about the trouble HE was about to face and counseling he would receive from his young students. Nothing would prepare him for what would become one of the greatest life choices he would ever have to make.
MC: Kids! What will we be having today? I could go for a slice of pepperoni myself.
Kids: That sounds good but why don't you get more meat? You should add some bacon and ham as well.
MC: No, no, no. I don't eat pork.
Kids: What?! Hahahahahahahahahahaha!
MC: What is so funny?" he asked, while thinking 'WDA?' (He was trying his best to keep it PG being that these were youths and all).
Kids: But sir, don't you know what pepperoni is?
MC: ...
(MC now has a bewildered look on his face)
Kids: Sir, pepperoni is pork.
MC, having already ordered the pepperoni slice, shrugged.
A few weeks later, via gchat with TD5, he raised the question, "TD5, did you know pepperoni is pork?"
To which TD5 responded, "of course it is; what kind of Trini are you?"
"I didn't know...all these years.", MC said.
"So where did you think it came from, MC?" asked TD5.
"I always thought some kind of pepperoni animal," Mitch replied.
TD5 logged off.
Flashforward to Thanksgiving weekend at the HOchie Residence. The scent of ham was wafting throughout the house. All creatures were stirring except Mooch *Cunnurs*.
Papa HOchie: MC, you don't eat pork?
TD5: Ask him about pepperoni.
MC: TD5, why did you have to go there?
Papa HOchie: You eat ham?
MC: No
Papa HOchie: You eat bacon?
(no response)
Papa Hochie: You eat pepperoni?
MC: yes (in a meek voice)
Papa HOchie: But you like pepperoni?
MC: yes, all these years...
Papa HOchie: But then you like pork. Just admit it.
- This blog post and story was brought to you by The HOchies, TD5 and X
Details of the above story are not transcripted and are a bit sketchy but have been assembled through conversations by all parties involved. Denial is most welcome by MC even though video footage of a full confession is available to provide further corroboration.
In a quest to discover what a Pepperoni Animal may look like, we searched google for answers. Google turned up with nothing as expected. With paper, pencil, markers and imaginaaaation, we have come up with a concept sketch:

We can only assume that a Pepperoni Animal would say "moink moink" being that as pepperoni is a combination of a cow and pig, 'moink' is only as logical as this entire post.
