For Once, A Canadian Gets Something Right

That attack on Noel Gallagher at V. Fest in Toronto while on stage? H-i-l-a-r-i-o-u-s!

Okay, so it's not cool for anyone to get attacked especially since the crazy Canadian could have done worse than push Noel down but as much as I like the three or four songs by Oasis that I'm really familiar with, either I have to listen to their albums again or will never understand the fascination by the Ukkers with those obnoxious assholes.

And that push was damned funny even though, it's wrong to laugh.

Here's hoping I don't get pushed at Janet Jackson, or that she has another wardrobe malfunction because with the up close and personal seats that Frass got, that would NOT be what I want to see.

::shudder::

April Fools, Adventures on the Street and Misadventures at the Train Station

H1 and I have walked past Rockefeller Center countless times and have often been forcefully mini-concerted upon.
There have been countless times that we cursed people out for sidestopping instead of sidewalking, 2 times we've walked the devil's path through throngs of 9 year old to 37 year olds screaming for a not yet legal Chris Brown, and we are currently dreading the sea of umbrellas that will assault our senses on a sunny day in June when Man Hands Rihanna plays (Frass, are you taking note?) - we can only hope she gets rained out much like NKOTB did yesterday.

NBC's Today Show played a trick on NYC on April Fool's Day by actually having a good band perform a mini-concert. We actually stopped for a while. I got a picture with camera eye and LO, which isn't as good:

See that bald head? Michael Stipe, people! R.E.M.! I've not R.E.M.'d in a decade and forgot just how good that is. They sounded amazing as expected. Memories…ahhh.

The first week of April proved rather eventful, in addition to an R.E.M. sighting.

We spotted an April Fool's joke - and it was plastered all over Grand Central Terminal, and surprisingly tied in quite nicely to this week's episode of South Park:

Also found in Grand Central 2 warm mornings later, was someone who apparently just got back from Montreal:

Those Canadians, they're really not my friends, buddy.

This week was also Scotland Week in NYC.

A cart half an hour late on a rainy Friday morning made for an empty stomach of sheep's stomach.

I at least got a picture of the damned cart that was giving out free haggis of which I had none.

But H1, thanks a lot for putting my name out there on a blog for all to see.

You are so not my pal.

Fraud Alert!!!

In the coming weeks, if Harry D. Coo shows up in Japan and in Canada, check dates. He might be in two places at the same time.

Harry D. Coo?

Harry D. Fraud!

Battler and Or 2 are trying to perpetrate a hoax of mega-tsunami like proportions.

Our Ears Were Bleeding

I think we need to put a stop to the Canadians or at least Avril Lavigne before their/her evil powers of ear destruction gets stronger.

Honestly, WDA was that monstrosity of a "song" 'Girlfriend'?

Arctic Canadians say U.S. emissions violate human rights

POSTED: 2:04 p.m. EST, March 1, 2007

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Northern Canadians told an international commission Thursday that carbon emissions from the United States have contributed so much to global warming that they should be considered a human rights violation. One activist said temperatures have climbed so much that Arctic residents need air conditioners.

The case was pressed by the Inuit community before the 34-nation Inter-American Commission on Human Rights.

In a petition, the group asked the commission's assistance "in obtaining relief" from the impact of global warming, and makes specific reference to the United States as the country most responsible for the phenomenon.

The commission, however, lacks the legal authority to compel the United States to take action.

Sheila Watt-Cloutier, an Inuit activist, said the well-being of her people is under threat -- and that the need for air conditioning is just one example of the spread of global warming.

Climate change is "destroying our right to life, health, property and means of subsistence," she said. "States that do not recognize these impacts and take action violate our human rights."

She said ice formations are much more likely to detach from land, and take unsuspecting hunters out to sea where they face an uncertain fate.

Beyond that, she said hunters can no longer be sure of ice thickness and whether it is safe to travel.

"Many hunters have been killed or seriously injured after falling through ice that was traditionally known to be safe," she said.

The United States did not respond to the Inuit claims before the commission, an arm of the Organization of American States. The Bush administration has said it is taking steps to reduce global warming, but domestic and international critics say it is not doing enough, given that the United States is the world's largest emitter of greenhouse gases.

Scientists generally agree the Arctic is the first place on Earth to be affected by rising global temperatures. They say that if developed nations such as the United States -- responsible for one-fourth of world's greenhouse gases -- do not dramatically reduce their emissions within the next 15 years, the Arctic ice likely will melt by the end of the century.

The Inuit population hails from Canada, Russia and Greenland, as well as Alaska, where they are known as Eskimos. They have been trying to tell the world for more than a decade about the shifting winds and thinning ice that have damaged the hunting grounds the Northern peoples have used for thousands of years.

Watt-Cloutier was nominated with former Vice President Al Gore for a Nobel Peace Prize for their work on climate change.

Though their arguments are true, I think we should charge Canadians as being human rights violations, on the merit that they're Canadian.

Currently thinking about listening to: Either "The Pot" by Tool. "Who are you to wave your finger? you must be have been out your head...soapbox house of cards and glass so don't go tossing your stones around. You must have been high."

OR

to dish it to those Canuks, how about a band from their own country! "Dirty Mouth" by Hot Hot Heat. "Wash your dirty mouth...".

Hmmmm, decisions...

"I Bitch-Slapped Death With My One Good Hand"

It's true...Ash did it. And all 8 of us saw it and loved it!

Evil Dead The Musical was greatness. It was cheesey, brilliant and bloody. Oh the blood! It was everywhere and on everyone! At least it was on everyone in the first three rows and wouldn't you know it? Or 2, Giant Kitty, TD5, X, Beetchie, Marie, Jess, & Battler were FRONT and CENTER.

The highlights of the evening all involved X. Beetchie and X got grabbed by Cheryl but did Beetchie and X save poor Cheryl when she was being dragged away by evil trees?! No.

And then came the Splatter Zone along with that blood I was mentioning before. I don't think anyone in our group saw that scene of gore because we were all too busy covering our faces and protecting our bodies from the blood.

And again, Cheryl, now zombiefied, grabbed X and riiiiippped her poncho all the way down and apart! Protection from the blood for X was gone! But X, being a Dr. and all, improvised and bunched the poncho in front, bent foward and covered her body. Triumph was X's...front but not so much the back. It was brilliant when the blood rolled off her back and unto her ass. And it was even more brilliant when she had to walk the streets of NYC with it too.

Classic songs and lines and of the evening -

"Death's a bitch...a stupid bitch." - Scott.

"What The Fuck Was That?"

I even got my picture taken with Ash for 10 bucks. That Ash is kind of cute even if he is Canadian...
