The Super Hero ( or was it Super Villain?) Food Adventure in Midtown

You park your Frites n' Meat truck on 52nd and NOT expect The HOchieS & Co. to show up? (psst, H1...see how I did a shout out to you? '& co.'?)

We weren't the only ones flocking to this Hamburger Truck's debut in midtown a couple of weeks ago.

The journey with & Co i.e. Alex, was rather pleasant.

We walked.

We got a strange blonde cretin in our glamour shot.

We walked the walked in style.

We made it a point to point out our asses and laughed while doing it.

At the end of said journey was a bright yellow truck with a cow with a cape on it.  A Super Hero cow? Never heard of you, Cow! But if you claim your beef is super, then count me in.

Ah, choices to make.  Sauces to sort.  Meat to Decide Upon.  Toppings to have! What to do? What to do?!

OH!

And a Super Hero name to go by, too.

Well, this seems like a job for ...

H1 insisted I go as my
not-so-secret secret identity, Mari-Ho.

I placed my order and had to correct the gentleman when he called me "Marie".  You can only imagine what happened next...when my order was called for me to pick it up, the cook called out "MARI-HO" and all around who heard laughed.
H1 in good H1 fashion yelled out, "Did your mother name you that?"

We're freaks but people, where's their sense of humour?

With an expensive lunch in hand, we hustled back to our desk with eager anticipation of having pommes frites for lunch.

For lunch that did not involve a trip to 8th Street.

Except, these didn't...look like the pommes frites down on St. Mark's...  blast.  Well, they still tasted decent with my choice of blue cheese sauce.  Still, it only made me long for the good stuff but the fact that they were wrapped up in faux newspaper? That was a nice touch.

Now for the burger.

Brioche? Check.  Gruyere? Check.

Applewood smoked bacon? Check.

Wagyu, medium rare burger? Uh, I don't recall
asking for medium rare but check.
(it's standard to cook it like that unless specified)

Just how Super Hero was our meal?

It wasn't really, it was more in the Super Villain class but not in a good way either.

I'm all for Super Villains but not when "bad" translates to my food!

There was no salt or seasoning on that burger and what a disappointment.

There has yet to come a day when I will not be thankful for the magical animal who gives us bacon.

Otherwise? I would have been far less kind to this Frites N' Meat Misadventure.

Now we have one less thing to scratch off of our list and a memorable trip away from our desks to remember.
