I am devastated! Even though I knew this was coming and blogged it months ago, seeing it on screen is just horrible. My Shikamaru's sad! And what's worse...I actually kind of like Hidan, the murderer. ::sniff:: Asuma, you were awesome! Awww.

This Week's Obsession(s): 07/29/2008-09/08/2008

D. Gray-Man:

Okay, I'm beyond obsessed with this series now and retract my previous statement. It started off as nothing terribly great but interesting enough. However, now that all hell has been breaking loose, it is amazing. Did I mention I love my boy Allen Walker A LOT?

Allen Walker

He's so cute! And it's really unlike me to like the main character, who is good in any anime or videogame. Factors are that he's a white-haired boy but he's also a tad weird with his love of akuma. He also reminds me a bit of Zarnyx, at least in hair. And then there's his gambling problem... gotta love that too.

Tyki Mikk

Now that I'm almost caught up in the anime, I have found my truly most liked character. He's evil, got great hair, stylish, kinda funny, plenty crazy. He does try to eff up Allen but I'm okay with that.

I don't care what anyone says! My wish list is awesomely long, not just long! My birthday and Christmas are coming up and I need to add to my list! You know, to keep track of things I want... He. ('He' is my new laugh that I picked up from Jasdevi in D. Gray-Man. Lame, I know.)

Cake or Death?

Cake or Death? It's Eddie Izzard's skit on the Church of England's handling of the Spanish Inquisition and why that could NEVER happen. Here it is in Lego Form. I'll have the chicken.

D. Gray-Man

I've taken to watching another long ass on-going anime series. So far, I like it. It's not particularly fantastic in terms of story but with a cast of semi-loveable characters, an interesting enough story, cool music and mini-arcs, I'm hooked.

My favourite characters thus far are Allen Walker, the lead main character who happens to have white hair but is not evil! Really. And I love Lavi. He's got an Osakan accent, a hammer and...yeah, that's about it. He's cute though. Oh, and I love Yu Kanda's voice actor. Awesome Times, Medicine Seller!

And this guy - Tyki Mikk. I've not seen much of him yet but I like his stylish design.

This Week's Obsession (s): June 2012

Wallander. Alright, so my obsession with Tom H. has not ended at all and has worsened to the point where I watched "Midnight in Paris" in fast-foward and have been traumatizing H1 and I myself almost every night for the past 2 weeks by watching "Wallander". In doing so, we've discovered a great crime drama and have more reason to obsess over the fantastic Kenneth Branagh. He's amazing as if that even needed to be said. Beautifully filmed (a beautiful setting in thanks), traumatic (I said it again because it is) and one very blonde, curly-headed Magnus who is constantly getting yelled at (well, he's...not the smartest, so...yeah) makes for a great series built on some stellar performances by K. Branagh. Season 3, where are you?

Luther

Some where along the way, I was reminded that I had to start watching "Luther". It's been on my radar for a while but I just never took the plunge. I don't know why. Stupidity, perhaps? Yeah, that seems likely. But luckily I started watching and while (like "Wallander") I think there's some predictability to it, thanks to the brilliant, intense acting job by Idris Elba and the very dynamic relationship between Luther and Alice; an amazingly soundtracked series and so much bloody murder, there's always a joyful sense of torture I give myself by watching the series. I miss Ian though, I have to say and have found a new love for Justin but I'm crushing a lot on Alice. Ruth Wilson is just uber creepy in the role and I love her. I'm making my way through Season 2 now but again, Season 3, where are you?!

Sherlock

Well this was actually a last month sort of obsession but as you can see, there's an entire British television viewing trend going on here. I've never denied my love for everything British and this BBC series by Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss solidifies everything incredible about a well-written British drama. Hell, it's just incredible television no matter what the country. Sharp writing, Martin Freeman and Benedict Cumberbatch with updated visuals and feel make this one hell of a ride. I can't praise Benedict and Martin enough for their brilliant portrayals of Sherlock and Watson. The dialogue is quick and the sequences are fast-paced and again, so very clever that it is staggering. It's a brilliant show that once more...has me waiting for a Season 3. I sense conspiracy!

The Legend of Korra

Oh Look! An American made show! And a great one at that. Picking up 70 years after The Last Airbender, I had my reservations but really, why would I be hesitant? It is made by the same creators and my fears were completely unfounded. I mean, I miss Sokka and Toph but with the amazing Lin Beifong (Toph's daughter) who kicks major ass all over the place and a really strong cast of characters backed by some amazing voice-actors, this show is a must watch for everyone. MUST. WATCH. No fillers and action sequences that require rewinding because they're just so good, and a story so engaging that I am going to be cursing next week after the 1 hour season finale. Cursing. And crying. For Season 2.
