Gil Toss: Your Favourite In-Game Purchases

Zenny.  Munny.  Money.  Pearls.  Cash.  Gold.  Gil.  Gald.  Simoleans.  Hearts.  Coins.  Rupees.  Bells.  $.  Money makes the world go round, they say.  Surely that's true in real life and very much so in our virtual lives.  Without it, you could rely on finding your armour in a chest.  Sure, why not? Perhaps you can steal a weapon from a monster? You could do that too.  Well, you should you know because playing the thief is all sorts of fun but only in video games, you morally depraved fiends! Sometimes though, you just have to go out there and make that cash to spend on all sorts of cool things! And how does one do that exactly?

Chopping bushes surely has its charms.

From NYC to Distant Worlds

I have partaken in some extraordinary nerd-ish behaviour in my time.

Of these...uh, exploits...there are three major ones that I can readily think of.

1.  2001 - I went to Otakon.  It was there I stood in line at a signing to meet Kawamoto Toshihiro. He signed my Cowboy Bebop wall scroll, scrawling his name all over Jet's hand (because no one respects Jet! except me?); and I made Kawamoto-san's hand smell bad for having to touch and pin down my unruly wall scroll as it threatened to make a mess of the table.

It was not my fault the wall scroll smelt of ass.  I bought it in Baltimore and who knows what was going on that weekend but the entire downtown area surrounding the convention center smelt terrible.

I always "jest" that I probably made the poor man ill because he had cookies on the table.  I'm sure he ate the cookies with his bad-smelling hand.

Observation

I just started playing Final Fantasy: Dissidia.

The voice acting is horrendous as it usually is in these English voiced dubbed games but is it just me or does Cosmos look like Cate Blanchett?

I smell shenanigans!

Cue the Final Fantasy Prelude and the Multiple Shop Music Themed Flashbacks We're About To Journey Into

"You know...I just used two Amazon gift certificates...I mean, I know they're there for my use but it hurts. Hahahaha (insert nervous, sad laughter), just like spending gil. JUST like spending gil." - Or 2.

"Hmm, and you never know. You might need to toss them at monsters in the last dungeon." - Bughie J.

::sigh::

I hate when I have to spend and/or toss my gil... that's some total bullshart if I ever did see it.

I should just be able to find whatever elixir I need lying around barely obscured by a box in the Ghost Trainyard, an Apocalypse I found in the area just beyond that asshole venus flytrap dealie that tricked me into giving it some poor defenseless frog as a meal, a scimitar I may have stolen off some fish in an Underwater Reactor, or an Oritsuru I found in the Da-Chao mountains on my way to busting up some Don from the Slums...

Yeah.

Those were the good times.

Good, inexpensive, gil saving times.

I never said anything about life saving times.

Just...gil saving.

Itunes - Some The Times Coolness

I happened upon it a few weeks ago but Itunes now carries almost the entire Final Fantasy Discography. How awesome is that?! I mean, I already have the stuff after years of collecting (all thanks to Bughie J.!) but still, that's pretty sweet. I'll have to see if they carry anime soundtracks as well, and of course, other video game soundtracks.

Nerd Rant Ends Now.
