Barring any madness, in a few days from now I will be the proud owner of a PsVita, gifted to me by my Brother Bunji as a Christmas presento-pyo for 2011.
As with most of my Sony products and electronics in general, there may have to be a replacement of said unit before the year is up as I am notoriously known for my bad electronic luck.
There'll be days of excitement as with any launch of new game system hardware for me as I play exciting new entries, have heartbreak playing others and the simple entertainment I get with outfitting a new system with junk.
Until such time, I'd like to take a moment to reflect on 45009, the Japanese Limited Edition Final Fantasy VII PSP bundle I sold bits of my life for to save from Ebay in 2008.
For nearly four years, I've had little 45009. He went from being in a clear plastic case, showing off his beautiful art to a hard metal case showcasing Star Wars and some cleverly placed stickers.

Not a Fan
I do not hate Star Wars but I cannot call myself a fan. This is probably due to the fact that I may have seen Episodes IV through VI many, many years ago and I can't really remember it all. It's just one of those things that makes me less of a person, I suppose.
Why then did I buy this?
It was simple, really. I needed a new PSP case.

Nice fit. I like.
The case was on super clearance ($3.72!) and with a deal like that including two new screen protectors (and trust me, I really needed a new screen protector...yeesh), I felt it hard to pass it up.
Of course, anyone seeing me walking around with it leaves me open to being considered a fan of Star Wars.
Hmmm, what to do...what to do...?
Hmmm...
Hmm...

Someone's got a Death Wish.
I may not be a fan but even I know you don't eff with Lord Vader.

Apparently Flower knows it too. Turtle? Special.

I. Want. One.
The new PSP Go...
...slides open!

It's pure beauty.
It's pure beauty that I will not be getting being that I already sold a bit of my soul to get my FFVII: Crisis Core LE Import.
Meh. I'll be okay.
But more importantly, when did I become such a "fan girl"? Probably the very moment I used that word... a word I swore to never let enter my lexicon.
Shenanigans.

45009
It's no longer an obsession.
The Japanese still hate me but I took one from their fold and that is its number.

After a bit of setbacks, selling bits of my blood (Hellsing, Niea_7, Trigun, Aqua Aqua, Graffitti Kingdom, Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex, Samurai Legend Musashi and Ape Escape: Pumped and Primed - you all served me well, except maybe you GK. You were just ass), frozen accounts and dreading a forthcoming bill, I've a semi-functional piece of Final Fantasy VII history.
It's working completely but semi to me because we're in the US and I can't reap the benefits of Japanese TV. Or can I? Hmmm.
I got it from one of the happiest places on earth - Ebay, all wrapped up in the entertainment section of a Hong Kong newspaper:

On the back was the flyer for an appliance sale which I found to be not much of a sale and I guess others thought the same:

"Here's what I think of your sale!"

I do find it very interesting though that within 8 hours of my getting my package from Hong Kong, I got incredibly ill. Coinky Dinky? Or something else...
H1, I was only keed. Don't you dare even think it and shut your goat-assy mouth! I still have a cough!
Currently listening to: "Not Addicted" by The Streets and not "Not an Addict". MC, get with the times!

Obsessions for Week(s): 3/02/08 - 03/11/08
Crisis Core Limited Edition Japanese PSP Pack

The Japanese continue to hate on me. Do you see that eff? A tiny buster sword and a shoe box! A Shoe box!!!!

And of course, a beautifully designed PSP limited to 77,777 units and it features the love of my life for 10 years - Sephiroth. ::sigh:: All we get is a red PSP with Kratos. Once again, what the eff.
Vayne Solidor

I am not really obsessing over him in a good way, I'm more concerned by the state of his hair. He is my 2nd least fav. FF villain. Honestly, there was nothing cool about him and crimping your hair was so 80s. Tch.
Monster

An anime about a sociopath. So far so good.
Currently listening to: "Naked in the City" by Hot Hot Heat.
