Happy Halloween

Hi Ho, Halloween Hellions.

We're writing this to you from the past being that we do not know what the Future may bring on Halloween...

There may be power, or there may be no power by the time Wednesday rolls around...who knows? As this is being written, we're just about to enter the extra dangerous spots of Hurricane Sandy that involve 60 to 80 mph winds.

With that said, we're saying goodbye to our Drinking Lego Robot.  Summer's long been over but without a working camera, we have not really been able to capture an ideal Autumn picture to represent on the blog.  What? Draw one? Yeah...I guess... but what's there to motivate us? WHAT, I SAY?!?!

Heh.

Anyway, bye bye Drinking Robot.  Not that he has not had reason to drink as it has been unseasonably warm this October what with this Indian Summer type thing we've been having (and now a Hurricane...).

For now, hello to Halloween Hoodlums who dance around a giant fire where they're cooking up... humans.  I don't know, it's probably best not to ask or stare for too long lest you too end up as embers.

Happy Halloween, everyone!

Currently: Listening to the wind outside, hoping to not lose power and thinking about everyone's safety.

Saying Goo'day to the Pumpkins

Halloween's over! Yes, sad but scarily true.  Another year gone by and another Halloween enjoyed by the HOchieS.  It was almost ruined by a freak snow storm (and was ruined for some...) but we had some ghoulish fun with the kids.

I'll stop with the lame, cheap tricks in my writing.  I'll make a peace treaty with you all and stop.  Right now.

Okay.

In closing, thanks to Target for having fabulous shiny pumpkins on their shelves for me to snap photos of.

It's now back to our Autumn Scarecrow friend with black crow.

Almost Here

By this time next week, if all goes according to plan, we would be stuffed up on pastelles, ham and homemade bread.

It's been a really long friggin' month, what with my crazy cough, cold and stomach issues.  Yeesh.  I am really hoping I am 100% in time for Thursday evening.

There have been zero stories to write because well, I've been sick, damn it.  And who wants to come around to see another complaint about how I didn't sleep because the cough jolted me out of sleep and out of bed.

Who wants to read that now?

I am however, finally ready to decorate the blog a little for Christmas.

So here you go!

Say hi to Jack, as he stalks some unsuspecting fools riding a polar bear.

Now go forth everyone and stalk whatever's hiding under your tree while the family's out! But please, try to be discreet and no tearing open presents until the 25th!

About Time

It was many months ago that Spring ended.  The mysterious plants in H1's pots grew full with green and lots of leaves and survived a very hot summer.

It was tough going for a while there with the steamy hell fire days threatening to wilt all the plants.

Here at the HOchieS' Bloggie Boo, I refused to put up a summer related theme.  It was not H1's idea as she loves the beast that is Summer.

So, so very long Spring! I hope to see odd flowers growing from the pot in the winter again as I did last snow storm.

Bye Summer, even though truly, I think you only left yesterday.

With blue skies and red apples, I welcome you, Autumn.  You have been here for some weeks now but Indian Summer is making a liar out of me and you.

The lone spider enjoying his time in the sun was rudely and without permission, photographed but he cares not.

A Life with Apples is a good one.

It's Over, Summer! Not so Warm Greetings, Fall

Fall's here!

It's time for all bits of summer to go away - the fireflies have retreated from dusk, and the bubbles no longer flit away and gleam under the sunlight.

The leaves are turning and falling, the air's cold (and not as crisp as it should be but really terribly cold) and probably signalling an early winter.

It's time to say goodbye to the raspberries on the bush, as they cling to a season past.

A lone brown leaf begins the passage to the earth, the first to go amongst his brothers among the raspberries that will no longer turn red.

Partial Goo'day, Winter!

Today is the first day of Spring and we're bidding Winter a partial goodbye.

Why?

Because it snowed this morning.

So, partially farewell snow-covered trees.

Partially farewell building-sized reindeer, and frosty moonlit night.

Partially farewell lonely house on the hill with your burning logs to keep the inside warm and the outside full of smoke from the chimney.

Partially farewell broken snow globe and the blizzard that tumbles out of it.

We'll see you again in December, or maybe tomorrow?

Until Next Year, Fall

Thanks for the fun times and no thanks for the hard times at work. I see those will be spilling over to winter and that's just not right!

Perhaps next year, you pumpkins and scarecrow can visit us once more but until then...

Goo'day & Good Riddance, Summer!

Another Summer has ended and 2008's proved not that bad, actually.
We had a month plus long adventure with CLee, not that many dog days, but no use of the pool which is a first in HOchie History.

So goo'd riddance but not really because this might be the last of it... thanks to the Large Hadron Collider. At least it's giving me two more months while it's in repairs to enjoy the beginnings of Fall. I'm not sure what the Holidays are looking like, if they're looking like anything but Black Holes but guess we'll have to see.

With all the economic instability and little personal sadness with a Budge who may move again, we're thankful for every day that comes where we're still here.

Hopefully we'll see Summer again, happier, with less to stress, carefree and complaining - about nothing serious.
