Adieu, Autumn! Bonjour, Christmas...Monkey...?

It's not officially Winter yet but it is officially 6 days until Christmas and so we are bidding adieu to the happy Scarecrow friend with mute crow.

Warm, sunny days were full of fun.  Rain showers were just a few but welcome all the same.  The sometimes chilly air made us remember the what time of the year it was and the leaves were late to fall off the trees.

Thank you for the wonderful Autumn days.  Thank you for the smiles and thank you, until we meet again!

Today, we say hello to a cheeky Christmas monkey.  He's got a crystal ball full of glitter and happiness but he's got his eye on everyone.

I think we better be really good less we end up with coal.  Or um, Monkey... poopies.

Who knows with these monkeys.

The Halloween Carnage: Now with Fresh Snow

It may not be Halloween today but it also is not Winter either, yet here we are on October 29th with snow - really heavy, blizzard-like snow and 50mph winds expected later - just 2 days before Halloween.

2 days...  Before Halloween!

I expect this kind of nonsense in Binghamton.  When we used to go to University there, this was not an uncommon sort of thing.  In fact, snow was not a stranger in July in that place.

But here, and for this amount of snow, well it's a little bit shocking.

I know - oo, shocking!
With the stores pushing Christmas decorations and shopping even earlier this year, I somehow feel that maybe I can all Conspiracy Shenanigans with this coming of snow!

Bye Summer my Enemy

Summer's out of here, Autumn has begun but has it really? Today is the first day it's felt brisk and crisp.  Signs of leaves changing colour have been few but they're getting there and we are saying farewell to our little frog hanging out in the pond on those hot summer days.  I wonder what our fair froggy friend has been doing?

Say hello to our tiny scarecrow friend with her sunflowery hat and tiny crow friend.

Here's to Autumn!

About Time

It was many months ago that Spring ended.  The mysterious plants in H1's pots grew full with green and lots of leaves and survived a very hot summer.

It was tough going for a while there with the steamy hell fire days threatening to wilt all the plants.

Here at the HOchieS' Bloggie Boo, I refused to put up a summer related theme.  It was not H1's idea as she loves the beast that is Summer.

So, so very long Spring! I hope to see odd flowers growing from the pot in the winter again as I did last snow storm.

Bye Summer, even though truly, I think you only left yesterday.

With blue skies and red apples, I welcome you, Autumn.  You have been here for some weeks now but Indian Summer is making a liar out of me and you.

The lone spider enjoying his time in the sun was rudely and without permission, photographed but he cares not.

A Life with Apples is a good one.

Officially Official

It's Autumn, everyone!

It sure as HELL felt like Summer today though, what with the hot 85 degree weather and all.

I hate fake Fall.  I do, I really do.

I also hate that I have no new picture or time right now to add to the blog.  I'll do it soon and not wait for a whole season to go by to change it.

Laziness is a crap of a thing except when it involves bypassing a Summer themed blog banner.  The reason you all have had to watch a leafy green plant all Summer long was due to an intentional boycott on my part.

Unfortunately, if it was Spring on my blog that did not translate to Spring in the real world.  Things tend to not work out quite right outside of Bloggie Boo.  In fact, my channeling of Spring and cooler weather turned into a nightmarish hot Summer fiasco.

That'll learn me.  I'll know better than to try to will anything into existence next year.

In the meanwhile, screw you too Summer! And good riddance! (It's what I'll be saying as soon as this 85 degree passes us.)

Fall's Over! Winter's Here!

And is it ever... after a stretch of warm weather, we got blasted with coldness and a snow storm.  There's the freezing rain report for tomorrow Christmas Day, and bad weather for the Midwest but we're hoping everyone has a safe, happy Christmas.

So farewell Fall and farewell Scarecrow.

Bye Harvest Feasting and the crispy leaves.

Until next year...

Now we usher in Christmas with two friends in the tree...sparkling through the night whilst watching over the presents and waiting for Santa to come (Santa exists now, apparently according to B'H).

They will wait, smiling happily, telling snowy tails to each other way into the night and into Christmas morning until the HOchieS awake and celebrate together.

It's Over, Summer! Not so Warm Greetings, Fall

Fall's here!

It's time for all bits of summer to go away - the fireflies have retreated from dusk, and the bubbles no longer flit away and gleam under the sunlight.

The leaves are turning and falling, the air's cold (and not as crisp as it should be but really terribly cold) and probably signalling an early winter.

It's time to say goodbye to the raspberries on the bush, as they cling to a season past.

A lone brown leaf begins the passage to the earth, the first to go amongst his brothers among the raspberries that will no longer turn red.

Crazy

It has been cold lately - a reminder that Fall is just around the corner (or is today the official start?!) but you know what else is coming?

October.

I love October!

I love Halloween.

H1 should not take me out to the stores during this time because I go a little bit crazy.

It's much the same situation when Alex takes me outside during the work day. She has come to the conclusion that the reason I never go out is that my brain stops functioning after that. It's true.

H1 says the sun addles my brain.

I am already planning my Halloween projects and there are so many cool things out in the stores, just reminding me I should start preppin' a crappily put together costume, and that the ghouls will be out in full force very soon.

Even the pumpkins are beginning to be possessed some!

Boo to you too, little Ghost Pumpkin!

Until Next Year, Fall

Thanks for the fun times and no thanks for the hard times at work. I see those will be spilling over to winter and that's just not right!

Perhaps next year, you pumpkins and scarecrow can visit us once more but until then...

Ah, Fall in August

Today was a strange Operation Impending Doom II.VII kind of day.

It stormed fiercely in NYC. It's rare there's thunder of that calibur. A preview to 2012, I'm sure. I thought the Apocalypse was upon us for a second there.

It's evening now and it continues to be pretty cool. I swear the little puddle that forms outside of H1's house when it rains has frozen over. It feels a little bit like Fall, which excites me. I love Fall, as I'm sure I've stated before. H1 on the other hand, doesn't like it because it usually signals that Winter would soon follow. That's how I feel about Spring - I can't stand it because Summer's always at its heels.

See? It takes Fall Weather to make August less sucky.

Currently listening to: "Weird" by Menomena. Thanks to TD5 for helping me remember to listen again. I haven't in a while.
