Ridiculous Sightings in Retail: Easter Craziness

It's as if the people at the Stop & Shop supermarket were taking the Crucifixion a little too far.

I can't look

What did those flowers ever do to you, Stop & Shop?!

Sick and Wrong

A glass full of this happened today...

...because this is how X and I needed to be spending our Good Friday - by drinking our bacon instead of eating it.

Do not concern yourself with the fact that I ate 2 kinds of meat today in various different forms.

Oh, and just in case anyone was wondering, the drink tabs did not work properly.  They lacked fizz and more importantly, they lacked the good taste of bacon.  I imagine it tasted much like what facon (turkey bacon) might taste like.

Happy Easter!

Today we will spend the day hunting for eggs, eating stuffing and having a tea party.  Mind you, these things may not necessarily be in that order.

We may even eat a peep or two.

Oh, stop you two peeps, with your quizzical bewilderment looks.  You know very well that's what's going to happen today.

"One Ha' Penny, Two Ha' Penny"

Hot Cross Buns

The days of Momma HOchie's waking at 4 a.m. on Good Friday to bake us up a fresh batch of hot cross buns were over even before we became recovering Catholics.  Rightly so, I may add.  That woman slaved enough for us when we were kids, and still does daily.

Tonight (Thursday night), she surprised me.

Even before I got into the house, I could smell something wonderful.

I was greeted by those beauties and even though it's Holy Thursday today, it does not matter.

What matters is that Momma HO is funny and the best...even if I did have to hear her hateful, taunting rendition of "Hot Cross Buns" before work and periodically throughout the day.

I should have known she was up to something but I really did not expect all this.

"They're heavy," she says but I think they're just heavy on love.

A Sunday With the HOchieS

H1 always says we're recovering catholics but that doesn't stop us from hiding Easter eggs from the booboos or partaking in an "Easter" dinner. Not that Jeebus had anything to do with chocolate eggs or rabbits and fights over stuffing but well, whatever.

H1 and I baked a blasted 'Jamaican' Marble Cake (unintentionally Rastafari! See two blog entries below).

It looked pretty good until it was discovered some sort of pre-historic animal left its mark on our cake,

We decided to cover up the evidence later on so as to not alarm the other HOchieS,

(I don't know why H1 furthered the irie by icing it with irie colours. She hates me, clearly)

It was all rather mysterious but it turned out it was just a good looking chameleon:

Currently listening to: "Rose of May" by Nobuo Uematsu, from the Final Fantasy IX Soundtrack.
