Treasure Hunt

Every tour, and in some cities, MUSE would hold a bit of a treasure hunt for their fans.
The conspiracy theorists and crazies, much like Matt, would decipher encrypted messages from the band and go running around town for random bits of things left behind.
I believe there was a bicycle one year.

With the new album almost upon us, MUSE have completely revamped their website and have unlocked a microsite called The Ununited States of Eurasia, and with it a Global Treasure Hunt.

USB keys were hidden in various countries and so far, I think all have been found over the course of this past week.

The codes on the USB keys, discovered by 'agents' (which is what MUSE are calling us) unlock fragments of one of their new songs, "The United States of Eurasia".

So far, I've listened to the bits unlocked and it's very Queen, "We are the Champions" and "Bohemian Rhapsody" like.

With bad vocals.

...

I will continue to comfort myself by the fact that it will be quite the grandiose stadium anthem of their tour or would that be the three part epic piece "Exogenesis: Symphony", that I am also nervous to hear especially since Dom and Chris had reservations doing it and Matt composed (I'm talking symphony here...he. composed. a symphony) himself?

...

In other MUSE news, they're playing the VMAs this year. I am shocked and excited!

Too excited, perhaps.

I went ahead and dreamt that I had tickets to the VMAs just to suffer through all the other bullshit to see them and as soon as Matt spotted me in the crowd he yelled something close to, "you made it!" and proceeded to pull me from where I stood to go hang out.

Ah yes, and thus begins 2009 - 2010's crazy obsession with MUSE on my part.

Aren't you guys just so enthralled?

Barnum Chocolate Animals

Who knew the makers of Barnum Animal Crackers were racist?

H1 and I opened up a bag of chocolate Barnum's and were shocked at what we found.

There was no monkey, as Alex asked , because that'd be too obvious, but all other animals found on the African Savannah were there.

Look at this horror!

If you notice, there's a choco lion, choco zebra, choco giraffe, choco rhino, choco wildebeest, and a choco camel.

You all are probably saying to yourself, "Camels do not live on the African plains". Yeah, but they do live in Africa and just to confuse you, these probably live in the Gobi Desert, and clearly the Barnum people are racists against Mongolians too!

Our favourite, is of course -

the Black Sheep.

Just because the Barnum peeps are racist, does not mean they're not without a sense of humour.

If the Barnum expert Bughie J. were to step forward and tell us all those animals are part of the regular vanilla Barnum collection, I would say they're paying him off!

Tsk, tsk Bughie J. for stooping so low as to be bought by a bunch of barnums. That's what they're paying you, right? A year supply of animals?

For shame Bughie J.

For shame.

Apparently I've Been a Lover for a Long Time...

...a lover of Conspiracy Theorists (yeah, even before Matt)!

It may have started with the X-Files and my obsession with Sculder and Mully.

OR!

was it the Dales...? Hmmmm.

The Funniest Thing I've Seen Today

Granted, it's only 1 AM and the day just started but oh MUSE. Oh. MUSE.

I've prepared a picture blog of this rather hilarious, slightly embarrassing music video of "Invincible". All video stills are copyright of Warner Bros. Records, 2007.

I'm fond of the dinosaurs:

I'm fond of the monkeys and cavemen:

I'm fond of the oversized lion:

I'm fond of the rounded lego(?) play people:

Charlie,:

Marv,:

And Sizzles:

Uh, I mean, Chris (I'm implying nothing!):

But I really, quite fancy the robotic killer bears:

and their fantastic killer poses:

(Should I be concerned that that bear and my boy are in the same killer poses? Hmmm)

Any chance to show the guitar that I adore, I will but if I were Dom and Chris, I'd yell out "Down in front!". Honestly, Bells, that's just rude! Other people are trying to enjoy the ride!:

Alright H1, I'll take the disdain and the judgments now, thank you.

In their defense, this is probably the best video they've made. It's quite awesome actually and I really rather enjoyed it, but that might be in part a huge thanks to the bunny space ships.

Please feel free to not prove me right by viewing any of their other videos as I am not ready for an onslaught of hateful laughing from the rest of you.

And Thanks.

It's finally good to know who 'they' are. Apparently, during the struggle/robotic killer bears will pull us down.

Ah my semi-beautiful Conspiracy Theorist Matt... I understand.

TD5, watch this video when you get a chance. You can find it on Muse.mu It makes me appreciate the song a little bit more. There's still nothing like seeing them perform it in concert though. Ooo! Maybe they'll re-create this at Wembley Stadium! Oo!

It's All Lies!

I'm still telling you guys - green onions and all onions are evil. It's obvious the lettuce is being set up.

Brooklyn Hype (Part One)

There's sure to be some adventure or misadventure when Beetchie and I are together. Whether it involves dumplings flying into small cups of soy sauce, playing 'guitar hero' while surrounded by stupid 10 year olds who want to get their asses kicked or this latest craziness - something always goes down. ALWAYS.

Eyewitness News

(Sunset Park - WABC, June 23, 2006) - A roach bomb is being blamed for an explosion at a bakery in Brooklyn Friday night.

It happened inside the Sunset Park Bakery at 60th Street and Eighth Avenue around 9:30 p.m. Investigators say an employee was spraying bug killer too close to an open flame.
The front of the building was destroyed.

Seven people, including a firefighter, were injured. None of the injuries were serious.

(Copyright 2006 WABC-TV)

It turns out that driving through the scene of an explosion as it is happening is much more dramatic than seeing it in print in the news.

There are some things to remember:

1. When your dog or friend's dog starts a non-stop whining session at you (and this coming from a dog who never whines) when you're putting on your shoes to go out - PAY ATTENTION.
Animals usually know something you don't - like say, when you're going to be driving admist an explosion. In retrospect, I'm now certain that Sabi was telling us "you're going out into danger. I want you to stay home."

2. It's very hard to wrap your mind around something as it is going on because the brain doesn't honestly think the things flying at the car are pieces of blown out glass but rather, buckets of ice that someone's tossing at you.

3. Beetchie remains level-headed in times of emergency.

4. Cellphones are wonderful things that can be used to help others in case of emergency. This is especially important to all the people who were standing around gawking instead of using theirs to call 911. Ass-hats.

And when she reads this, no... I do not hold you responsible for whatever went down in Brooklyn. And yes, it won't make me want to come to Brooklyn any less because it could have happened anywhere. As you know, I never want to come out to Brooklyn anyway. Har Har. Kidding. Please don't beat me and take my stuff making my Brooklyn experience complete... (kidding again! really!)
Also, don't listen to the MSI song after which I've named this blog entry but if you do, when you hear Little Jimmy Urine screaming "Brooklyn, you ain't nothing!" just remember I have no control over what he says!

5. We have decided that we need more Thailand voodoo dolls of the guard series.

Why do my Fridays always end up with my either being in serious pain, unable to eat, overly stressed, depressed and/or now in some sort of explosion? My Fridays have been cursed for a year now. Someone hates me or is working some serious voodoo but AHA! I'm now one step ahead... which reminds me: Beetchie, we also need to invest in more dolls of the punishment & cure series.

Why are my day-offs never real ones? And when do I take an actual vacation?

I am thankful that Beetchie and I were able to do a good deed and that we were unharmed because the fact of the matter is, it could have been incredibly worse. There are so many scenarios that could have taken place but did not and it's best to not think about it.

However, I think something's trying to stop me from getting to Muse on August 3rd. I can't die until after the concert...and after Matt puts his ring on my finger. And I get his guitar from the dumpster.
Note to self and Beetchie - we need dolls of the love series. I already have the first part of the plan: Spider Boy. Heh Heh Heh Heh...
