Checklist

Out for five days, with today being the first day back at work. It's been five weeks since Chrissy Lee spent time with The HOchieS, with today being the first 'full' day without him.

What the eff.

We're not liking it at all.

Even the Pumps is sad.

It was fun and it all went by too quickly but I guess what they say is true - time flies when you're having fun.

Memories of Chrissy Lee shall be recorded on the blog because he likes that sort of thing. Heh.

In no particular order, here are the fun times shared!

1. Movies - He saw many, one for every week in the month of June or something like that. It began with his third viewing of "Iron Man" because he's crazy, not necessarily that Iron Man was fantastic, right Chrissy Lee? Followed by "Hulk", "Wanted" and "Wall DOT E", interpunct not included.

2. By special request from Chrissy Lee himself: Dyson Air Blade. Check.

3. Good Time Eats - Let's see,

Bourbon Chicken. Check.
IHOP. Check.

Sweet Melissa "Banana Caramel Cream"

4. Places and Things!

The MOMA. Fun times even without an A cube. Har har.
Eck! The damned 5th Ave. A. store, yes. yes. The SoHo branch? Yeah Yeah, that one too. Lame.
Six Flags Great Adventure. Enjoyed with his BFF Fred. Heh, at least it wasn't me. =)
The Bronx Zoo: The Sky Safari (which by the way shut down with 40 people on it for over an hour today), The World of Darkness, Great Ape Escape (heehee, humour for H1) or rather, the Congo Exhibit, A Gift Shop, The Cafeteria, The Big Cat Exhibit, The Asian/Orient Express Exhibit (Orient Express? Har. Racist.).
Bunji's with A. Face and driving to the Hospital so that B. Cheeks could be born.
Next door for Drunkeness on the 4th of July. Grrr.
The City to bum!
Arguing with Or 2!

R.E.M.!

5. Games Played

Wii - "Wii Fit", "Mario Kart", "Mario Party 8", "Wii Zapper: Link's Crossbow Training", "Super Mario Galaxy", "Resident Evil 4", "Guitar Hero III", and "Wario Ware: Smooth Moves".

PS3 - "Rock Band". Hey, I only truly have one game we play on that, alright?! Chrissy Lee has proven that he can shred like nobody's buisness and sing like a pro! Okay, so maybe that's not entirely true but he had fun!

DS - "Professor Layton and the Curious Village".

6. TV and Movies on TV Watched

"Law & Order: SVU", "CSI: Miami" (which he watched on his own), "Back to the Future", "Burn Notice" (a new favourite!), "Bad Boys" (an attempt to anyway)and "Double Impact"... Almost every night.

Anything else, feel free to add to this blog but for now Chrissy Lee, start making a new list of things to do for your next visit!

Currently listening to: "Pity and Fear" by Death Cab For Cutie. This "Narrow Stairs" Album seems quite a departure for them. It's odd yet oddly entertaining.

Saturday Shiiiitt

H1, Or 2, Beetchie, Chrissy Lee, X and Luuuiiisssss are sitting around the table, talking shiiiitt. Literally.

Memorable Conversations of the Day:

Or 2 and Beetchie: The pie looks like a Japanese turd! You know, the Japanese think turds are lucky!
H1: Huh?
Or 2: Yeah, the japanese word for 'luck' is similar to the word for 'poo'.

Later on..

Or 2: Beetchie, we're having curried duck for lunch tomorrow.
Beetchie: You remember what happened the last time I had curried duck right?
H1: What happened?
Or 2: She had lots of luck...

H1: Someone gave me a TMI this week.
X: Was it me? Because I gave you one.
H1: Yeah, you did. It was Alex too. It was the week of TMIs.

H1: Boobey Head has a little extra flap on his right butt cheek.
Beetchie: It's okay, it'll fill itself out, he's PR. That's how their butts form.

H1: Being married is not like a bed of roses.
Or 2: No, more like a chamber of farts.

H1: Are those dolphins still floating around in New Jersey?
X: No, they're trying to get them out last I heard.
H1: I heard they're using scare tactics
Or 2: Yeah, like sending speakers down with orca noises.
X: All you need to do is tell the dolphins they're in NJ and they're all like "oh shit" and they'll leave ::does swimming motion::

H1: What's Jersey called?
Beetchie: The Garden State.
Or 2: The Garbage State?

Bad Luck, Boo

Mario Party 8 is turning out to be my nemesis unlike my good friend Mario Party 5.

Out of 5 games, I lost 4.

I finally won tonight thanks to sheer skill, a tad bit more thinking, loan komodo-ery and some luck.

Heh.

Memorable Conversation of the evening:

A pot of 61 coins got split up between Yoshi and Boo but Boo was favoured and got 31 with Yoshi getting 30.

Chrissy Lee (Mario): Who got 31?
H1 (Yoshi): Boo
Or 2 (Boo): Heehee.
Chrissy Lee: That's discrimination! Boo only got that extra coin because he's white!!!!!
Or 2: Well, it's not easy being green.

OOF, Not Entirely

The day began with McDonald's brekkie. After the third time of having a half day sickness from the buiscuit from previous McDs' experiences, I decided to get a bagel instead. Surprise, surprise, that seems to have worked for me. I thought it was just everything about that place that got me ill but I guess it was just my beloved buiscuit. Meh.

We then went to the Virgin Megastore where they were having their awesome $10.00 summer sale. I came out empty-handed. What's so awesome about that sale? It just is, okay? It just so turns out that I already had copies of what was on sale though I have to say it really pissed me off to see Radiohead's Pablo Honey on sale for $10.00 after convincing myself 10 years after it's release that I would never find it for anything less than 16.99, and finally took the plunge and bought it at that time at that price. Curses!

The only thing I would have picked up was Jeff Buckley's Grace but like an ass, I didn't. I don't know why I didn't either because I've known I'm supposed to have that thing for years now, and expect to be judged now for saying I don't. Curses!

Maybe the recession made me walk out of there with all my cash intact or maybe it was the fact that I knew I'd be spending money when Chrissy Lee and I visited the MOMA, that's the Museum of Modern Art for you peons who don't know (see how one trip there makes me smug? Now I know how Apple users feel!).

$20.00 a piece later, we ran around the great space that is that building and saw naked lady statues, tried to flip coins to be caught in pictures in front of naked lady statues, surrounded ourselves by a racist visual exhibit by Olafur Eliasson in which everyone under the yellow lights became, and to quote Chrissy Lee, "the same pale colour" (sounds racist to you guys too, right? Yeah. The exhibit was still very cool though...you know, minus the racist factor), walked around some suspect pieces of 'art', viewed ourselves from a window x50 instead of a building across the street and questioned the value of OOF (let it be known though that there's nothing greater than OOF!).

Random photos from the Museum I:

Like H1 and Sons before us, I will attempt to rename some of the things I saw today.

I call this one - Where's the coin?!

It's barely obscured by the... never you mind that.

Vertigo to a Hippie and to Me!

I Like It, The Girl is Not Included but Makes For Some Goo'd Times

I Don't Know What's Up With The Duck Ass Either...

...But The True Beauty is That The Picture's Not Coming Off The Wall, Not That I'm Saying There's Anything Beautiful About a Lady Duck Ass

Since Blogger's being a PITA currently, part II will come in the near future.

After scouring the museum for 1.45 hours, Chrissy Lee realised that he had not seen the apple cube. I had to explain to him that it was not a permanent fixture (and who would want that shart as a permanent exhibit, really?) but he insisted we must have missed it. So off he tried to go to the paintings and sculpture section to which I held my head in shame and asked him if he was sure that would be in that section.
Coming to his senses, we wandered back to the trash...uh, I mean, the floor for architecture and something, something and discovered that an IBM had taken its place. Hahahahahahaha. Ah, no, not really but it was gone. And even though it's not as if Chrissy Lee's room at home isn't a museum itself housing the same cube apple thingie that used to be at the MOMA, I guess it was kind of rough on him not seeing it there.

After much disappointment (for him), we went to Pongsri after dodging the KFC and had some good time Thai Food. Then it was off to work for me to drop off the remaining food. See that? I can never have a day off without being OOF completely, even if I go there to not work but what do I care? I got to use the bathroom and drink water.

Not much happened after that - we walked around some more to find a wallet, drank java bits frappucino from Starbucks and ate Ben & Jerry's that was not the one I wanted. Instead of the effin' "Imagine Whirled Peace", I ended up eating "Cinnamon Bun". Those people wanted me to start a war up in there.

So that's it, we went to collect H1 from her horrid day at the jorb and then we went home and played Lexitron on the train, as we escaped a terrible thunderstorm.

Now my head hurts and I'm OOF to shower.

Heehee, that is a gross misuse of the word OOF.

Still the greatest piece eva'!

Memorable Quotes and Conversations of the Day:

Chrissy Lee: H1, you should have seen these nasty bagels that looked like lumps of shit.
Or 2: They weren't bagels. They were croissants. Covered in paint. Red and blue. I don't know what lumps of shit he was talking about.

Alex: Maybe he crushed that butterfly because you know, the butterfly was sickly and retarded.
Chrissy Lee: So you crush it because it's a little slow?!

While watching Independence Day,

Or 2: Did they (the humans) outfit the alien spaceships with seatbelts?
Chrissy Lee: I don't know...
Or 2: Huh. I guess the aliens did it. Who knew (that aliens were so conscious about safety)?

The Things We've Missed For The Past 4 Weeks

It's been a rough few weeks and the HoChies have been quite busy. Life keeps moving though but sometimes it's hard to move along with it. There have been days when all we wanted to do was resist the flow, and just be stagnant. There have been many days where trudging to the daily routine was more than a task but life keeps throwing itself in our faces. There's work to be done (and extra busy H1 has been), hours to be made and things to do.

I had no intention of writing a post like this but here it is. I really should use this extra time to go take a "nap" before I head off.

In any event, in the last four weeks we've seen the return of Beetchie! Fun times have already been had but not nearly enough. It's never enough but when is it ever?
We had dim sum together, watched Iron Man together (which was not a bad movie, actually), gained and lost fans, a PR Firm and bodyguards for the Oxtails.

Congratulations to the B. on her first semester at Vet. School. We are proud.

Chrissy Lee is here! Unfortunately he has gotten a cold passed along by yours truly. Heh, I may be a bitch but this was unintentional, honest! He brought me presents of various kinds - food, and lots of good jokes but also tortured me by dragging me to the 5Th Ave. Apple Store. Ugh. Thanks. Thanks for torturing me Chrissy Lee.

He's here and we're enjoying our time with - last night we played Wario Ware: Smooth Moves. He cheated in scrabble and has been leaving a trail of smug all over. It's been a while since we've lounged on the couch together, so this time is most welcome.

H1 and I have still been walking arm in arm to work, yesterday I had to hold her by a string or else she would wander into the street. We've missed opportunities at free stuff: t-shirts, plastic frisbees, umbrellas, bags and plastic blow up balls all in support of a green Eco campaign. Ironic much? Yeah. But we saved the environment some and saved our mental health by not crossing the street to get swag near the Faux News Building.

Evening addition/edit:

Sadness descended on to us today not that it has really left us since that day but on cue, Brian still found a way to mess with me this day. But I do what I always do when he does that and did that - I laugh.

We did not miss the opportunity to get swag off the street today. It was not as "cool" as yesterday's but we got Chrissy Lee a brand new Egrip for his brand new Samsung powered by Sprint phone when he gets it.

What else happened today? Hmmm... well, we did go to Burger King and got an Iron Man toy for Chrissy Lee to assemble. Go ahead Chrissy Lee, I didn't see you use the Internet to snap that together. Tch. I guess that's why it took you so long though. Har har.

And finally, today I was supposed to find out if I won free tickets for Coldplay but it seems like I will not be seeing toilet on the 23rd. My luck is poor because even for things I don't want to win, I still lose.

Ah well.

Currently listening to: "Mistaken for Strangers" by The National. I'm not quite sure how I feel about this band yet but it's growing on me.

Trinidad on the Fly III

Last round of photos of the last 2 and a half days in Trinidad.

For the life of me, I couldn't tell what kind of animal that was. One of the pepperoni variety, maybe? No, TD5 sorted it out and now I am more educated and feeling slightly stoopid.

You can't tell just how ginormous that flag actually is from that shot but trust me, it's pretty damned massive. It could cover a small island! Hopefully a trade wind won't toss it on Tobago. As if Tobagonians needs more reasons to hate Trinis.

If that happens, we are prepared. We will send this bucket of KFC over that could feed their entire island.

And Kyle got me Red Meg... ...a..ants on the plants?!

Ah, the samaan tree. It's not a good a picture as Chrissy Lee's *note google images 'samaan tree' and you will find some coolness*, but that's the best I could muster from the car as we were driving past.

Indeed... There is nothing like some sun ripened potatoes.

I wonder if the guys went to the ball...Guys! Did you go? I was supposed to go with Aunty P. and wear this...

This last shot was taken in the airport which is a painful reminder of the times missed this past week. However, much to H1's pleasure, all you biatches should be getting doused in some ashes in a few hours. TD5, as per usual, they need to dump a barrel on you.

Well, thanks for the fun times peeps. We really appreciate all you did for us and most importantly, we were as always, really happy to see you guys and spend some time with, the going to bed at 4.30 most mornings and miss you terribly now.

Personally, I don't miss that rooster that gave me the evils and then proceeded to curse me out.

Or 2: 1
Roosters in Trinidad: 1

By the way, H1, I found the perfect song for your little All Fours Disaster!

Currently listening to: "Flowers on the Wall" by the Statler Brothers ('...playing solitaire 'til dawn/ with a deck of 51' - aharharharhar), "Isamashige" by Takanashi Yasuharu from the Mononoke soundtrack (noooooooo, I'm on the final episode!!!! I love this damned anime so much...sniff.. Medicine Seller, how I will miss you), and "Nantes" by Beirut (thanks to TD5 for this one. I'm slowly prying myself away from this song and discovering new good songs from their latest album).

The H1 Or 2

Went to sea,
In a beautiful, not pea green boat
They took some US and a whole lot of nothing else
wrapped up in a 60 pound note

They flew away for .5 and 4 days
To the land where the samaan grows

And there in the wood,
They became piggy-wigs where they stood
And ate every bullshart they could find off the damned island of Trinidad

Starting with Thursday's dinner

Mario's Pizza, which turned out to be a disappointment. The crust recipe has gone horribly wrong and the copious amounts of meatage have been cut back:

At least the pepper sauce remains phenomenal

In addition to pizza, elevensies pmsies came around for Round 2 and a belly full of KFC zingers were had. Sadly, there are no pictures of that to share.

Friday dawned, with a trip to the market in search of doubles but none were to be found (the early bird gets the worm and apparently the doubles).

The only way to cure a lack of doubles, is to nap away the depression, so napped we did and awoke to hear an MC - the sound of which made us go back to nap for another half an hour.

The nap failed to cure us of said MC but the watered down green sands he brought (no fault of his) helped us forget our woes some

but as you can see, we needed spees and a pastelle to recover as well.

Nothing can be right with the world, until Aunty P.'s chocolate cake is made and devoured first at 8 PM and then again at 2 AM on

Saturday morning

where our previous misfortune was rectified with a bag of the good stuff not attained on Friday

With limited time and not even half of the edible things on the island in Or 2's stomach, a trip to Maracas was in order for bake and shark.

OMG. GOO'D TIMES! Gaze upon the beauty of one of the greatest things on earth. And people wonder why I love me a shark. Tch. What's to question, people?

Also, what's not to love about a chow, shrimp wontons and Trinidadian KFC?

Sunday came after waking every hour to find out if TD5 had made it home safely, and brought the best damned breakfast one could have.

Or 2 hearts her some blood pudding, Kerrygold butter, hops, pawpaws, portugal and Scrambled Eggs.

An X & M Wedding Later (no pictures taken of the food - that'd just be kind of rude. Pictures of boobs can be taken but food, no), Monday arrived and the last day for eating had come with it.

::sniff::

Ramsaram's Peanut Punch,

beef pies,

cream soda of the good solo variety,

milk pennacools,

cheese, chicken and tuna puffs,

and of course, the favourite coloured popcorn were all had,

but was not met without some passing judgment upon thee.

More eats followed that night but no pictures are present for proof.
Rest assured it involved curried chicken, fried okra, melongene choka, tomato choka and roti.

The festivities only ended today even after being in NY for officially a week now. Why? Because like every good Trinidadian, we were made to bring food back with us by the peeps and thank goodness.

Duck, roti, curried mango, fudge, non-eaten zoomers (curse you, Frass! J/K), and pelau made from freshly shelled pigeon peas (thanks Uncle P.!) were all consumed within the last week.

Thank you to TD5, Pandy, Chrissy Lee and Aunty P. for putting up with my demands and pain in the asshattery and for acquiring most things of my list.

It is greatly appreciated and another list will be forthcoming.

Har Har.

Love you all and miss you terribly,

H1 and Or 2.

Part II of the Trinidad Adventures will be posted soon enough. Excuse the craziness of this one. I'm practically asleep on myself hya.

Memorable Memories & Quotes of the Trip:

The good times, the laughs and antics were plentiful and I cannot possibly remember it all to lay in print and that's what pictures are for but a few notes -

"What the eff! Stop putting shit on our bodies David Blaine!"

Or 2: I was judged for getting coloured popcorn!! Isn't that wrong?!
Georg: I'm kind of judging you myself right now.
Dar: One day, people in this world will not be judged by the colour of their popcorn.

Currently listening to: "Viva Rock" by Orange Range

Edit: A list of things eaten but not photographed/pictured are as follows - curried chicken, bussupshot, fried okra, bake and New Zealand cheddar.
