Flying a Kite is Not That Hard

All you need is a directional wind sign and a person telling tall tales about how big a fish they caught.

Currently listening to: Bunji talking about some blonde girl on American Idol being hot. Stupeed Budgie.

Lucky Sevens!

What's that, B. in FFVII terms? Ass-kickery, right?

The HOchieS are sending their 777th Blog Post to our friends - CLee and Beetchie, wishing them both a Happy Birthday!

We hope your respective Drop Days are full of luck and goo'd times.

Make Sure Prescott Gets His Babu! S7 24 HC: 9 PM - 10 PM

There's not much to say other than Jack Bauer can't get a break.

Just when you think he's about to get an easy time at his sentencing by making nice with Red Foreman, that gets shot out the window or...in the foyer.

Morris is still awesome.

The only other thind I'd like to ask is... does anyone else think that Quinn looks like Chef Gordon Ramsey? No wonder he was so badassed!

Happy St. H1's Day!

I'm not wearing green today because I discovered I don't have any, so my plan is to wear dark blue and if someone calls me out on it, I will inform them their drunkeness has made them colour blind.

Bughie J.'s plan would have worked but I don't have any bright yellow, so I can't claim primary colours.

Happy Ides!

Why does everyone keep saying "Beware the Ides of March"? That's not very nice to March.

That Scary Halloween Cat in Winter

There was a bit of a blizzard on the 2nd day of March, and I noticed That Scary Halloween Cat was smirking plenty at the fact that no one could leave the house.

I took pictures of him as he enjoyed the snow globe (as H1 rightly noted) that became our neighbourhood.

Sure the weather outside was frightful, but nothing is more frightful than TSHC.

A Bus Out of Town

If you're not watching Flight of the Conchords this season, you can just be like Carol Brown:

And get outta here!

It's Not Quite Here Yet

Spring tried to make an appearance last weekend.

It was warm, sunny and well, I didn't like it.

It's not so much that I hate Spring but I hate what Spring is all about, which is the close coming of Summer. As we all know, I am not fond of Summer.

There are fun things about Spring though, such as H1's tulips trying to peek out of the ground and the task of trying to not crush them:

Pine cones covered by barely any snow and the tiny hands that try to touch them:

But I especially love the dead squirrel that has been hanging outside Boobey's house for some time now:

Oh.

Wait...

Currently listening to: "Dull Life" by Yeah Yeah Yeahs.

Franken Stein

Isn't he awesome?

Thanks, Beetchie.

Currently listening to: "Hysteric" by Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Yeah. It's Blitz! a good album and this song is amazing. On my first listen though, I thought to myself - wow, having major producer input really does influence your sound because there are lots of similar sounds to TV on the Radio's Dear Science.

Obsessions of the Week(s): 01/25/09 - 02/21/09

Yamamoto Takeshi

I'm still enjoying Katekyo Hitman Reborn! even though I've taken a slight 'break' from it. I liked him before but he's grown on me more as the series progressed. He's a stupid cutie good guy. Awww, so stoopid.

Rokudo Mukuro

His scary music is just awesomely fitting. He's got the coolest power, I think and does everything with ease even under the worst circumstances. Gotta love that freak. Not pictured, I also am liking Spanner. The lollipop thing he's got works for me.

Persona 3

I don't know why I'm stubborn about trying things I should but 'refuse' to. Sometimes, they're just not worth my time (like the 'Matrix' and an Iphone, Clee) but I took the plunge. This game is fun enough. I'm enjoying being a student but I'm having a hard time trying to balance my potential girlfriends. Of course, it'd figure my first maxed out friendship's with the French Fashion Boy...

Sanada Akihiko-Senpai

Yeah. So, Persona 3 can get a bit frustrating at times. Any game that makes luck a big factor in a boss fight to the point it's annoying, makes me want to throw things... and of course, I found somebody to like. I'm surprised by how much I'm enjoying his english voice actor and that's a big factor as to why I like him. It's not the white hair, really.

Ouran High School Host Club

Lork. There are anime in this world I swore to never watch. This was one of them. Then one day, with Hitman Reborn looming near an 'end', I was desperate enough to know what the big deal was. And now, I'm a fan too. It's such a damned ridiculously funny show. It's charming, fresh, a crazy love story - yes but hey, I loved Love Hina so why not? And if I were a customer of the OHSHC, I'd like the cool type...as in the evil type. Love Kyouya! No B., I don't love Honey the kid one! The twins are fun for me too and that should disturb anyone.

Nekozawa and Beezelnef

I also enjoy this odd one, not surprising to anyone. Just look at him! He's crazy and Beezelnef is so evil, he'll put a curse on us all. Ah, fun times.

Not Yet Caught Up

I'm not even sure I will be.

It's been an entire week now since U2's album came out (that's right, I don't know if people are still saying 'dropped', but I refuse to use it) and I've not listened.

For all of last week, U2 took over David Letterman's show and Mayor Bloomberg renamed 53rd Street, "U2 Way" to celebrate.

Here's a fuzzy picture taken by our buddy Mahone because things are always happening in NYC and when I can, I try to get my friends to do my dirty work for me...heh.

H1 says U2's album sucks big time, which is why I probably haven't listened yet...

Edit on 3/20/09:

Here's another grainy shot, taken by one of Mahone's weoples (that's my new word - weople):

There's no The Edge, so I'm not truly interested.

And I've still not listened to the album...

Barbie's 50th

To think, for fifty years that blonde bitch has been breeding stupid, as evidenced by this blurb in an article on CNN today:

"It's not about wanting to look like her. It's about imagining what could be," said Nancy Parsons, of western Pennsylvania, who is chairwoman of the Barbie 50th Anniversary Gala, this year's collectors convention planned for July. "People who say it's a bad influence -- they don't know the imagination that goes into playing with dolls. ... My sister always pretended she was a nurse, and [now] she's a nurse."

H1's response to the mess, "Hmmm, that is an example of what happens to people who play with Barbies. They lose brain cells."

Happy Birthday, Stupid.

Operation: Kill Bill. S7: 24 HC 8 PM to 9 PM

H1 made me title it.

I don't care what else happens in this damned episode or this show for that matter...

Bill's dead!

What's the point in watching this shart anymore?!

='(

::sniff:: Bill...

BOOM: The Smurfs

"A group of over 100 dark blue, three-apple tall humanoids who lived in the mushroom homes of Smurf Village. The villainous Gargamel plots against them. Episode 07"

This is the vintage description on Boomerang.

I never knew they were humanoids! And three-apple tall seems a little bit tall to us.

Grouchy smurf is still the most awesome smurf.

He hates paradise. "hah hah hah hah".

Memorable Quotes:

"You little blue breakfast rolls." - Gargamel

"Valuable Junk for sale" - Valuable Junk Salesman

Damn It

I don't know how much more of this I can take.

Everyone's getting killed off in the world of Naruto: Shippuuden.

I still can't confirm Kakashi but they're leading me to believe he's really dead but I won't accept until there's a burial, damn it!

And now Hinata's on the brink?!

Stinking ass, Naruto: Shippuuden!

Currently listening to: "Carol Brown" by Flight of the Conchords, by far one of the best songs of the season.

S7: 24 HC 6 PM - 8 PM

6 PM to 7 PM:

Choking out Bill is the coolest thing Jack Bauer's ever done.

Don't you worry, Chloe. You'll get to buss ass soon. Though I see Jack took your taser bit this season. You tase better.

Memorable line of the evening:

"You are weak! I am willing and able to look evil in the eye and deal with it." - Jack Bauer to Senator Mayor. I still don't know who he thinks he's talking to but you shouldn't mess with Red Foreman.

Head Count: 1

7 Pm to 8 PM:

I would just like to say that the White House ain't what it used to be. Honestly, that break in was fantastically simple. And then they're trying to give me some bullshart about how the White House is the most shielded building in the world, which explains why you could only see a 'clump' indicating people from the aerial shot.

Clearly the White House is the most shielded building in the world...except when it comes to terrorists.

I guess in its defense, I'd crumble too if I saw Candyman coming my direction. He is one scary, bad ass mf.

Agent Hovis is a tool. Sure his best decision was to pull back but he's still a tool.

I noticed too that someone by the name of Hodges gave detail on an operation. If they watch CSI, they'll know that guy's an ass and you shouldn't really believe anything he says.

Also, do Sengalans really give 'thumbs up' to indicate something's okay? When did a 'thumbs up' become a universal sign for okay?

I thumbs up'd a death metal-head, member of The Haunted once after he signed a poster for me... and by reaction he thumbs up'd me back. He was so embarrassed when he realised what he was doing. It was probably his most un-metal moment in his life.

I have no regrets.

March 2: Snowed In and A Conversation with MC

Our train abandoned us this snowy day, and while it should have been fun times trying to sleep the time away, MC had to make an appearance this morning to nasty up the day -

MC: Granny tried to do me in this weekend. She cooked shrimp all mixed up in curried potatoes and stuff.

Or 2: Uh oh. I guess like X, she was trying to give you up for lent too. Sad.

MC: As I put it to my mouth, I'm like WTF. When asked she said "You still allergic to that". What have I done to deserve this?

Or 2: 'still allergic'? Ahahahahahahahaha.

MC: X needs to give up her Amy Winehouseness for lent

Or 2: I think she may have...wait. no. That's not true. How did you not recognize the shrimp though?

MC: I was starving and didn't look at what I was eating; not uncommon for all my eating activities. heh heh heh.

Or 2: That'll learn you

Things Observed This Week: 2/23/09-2/27/09

There were lots of heathens walking around in Midtown on Ash Wednesday, the HOchieS included.

Whoever the priest was at St. Pat's Cathedral (we assume), he did a fantastic job with the crosses this year.

Man, that was some good work.

Next up - after my stomach virus attack three weeks ago that caused me to do my most hated action (why was it not out the ass, instead?!), I'm not yet ready to eat chicken and eggplant in garlic sauce. I know it was not food poisoning but I was still turned off today. Hopefully that ends soon because that'd be a sad thing to give up. Side note: I hope I didn't ruin that dish for anyone else either.

Finally, sometimes we feel that God hates poor people but he really was looking out for the HOchieS today and forgave us a mistake we made. It was a stupid mistake that could have cost us our lives while crossing the street but we're thankful we are here, unharmed.

That was truly terrifying, and we remember to also be thankful that Frass, MC and X are okay after their related ordeals.

Currently listening to: "Decisive Battle" by Shiro Sagisu, from the Neon Genesis Evangelion Original Soundtrack I.

The Things That Just Aren't Right

Why does 50 Cent have his own game?

And why did it get a decent review on Gamespot?!

So sometimes there are things that just aren't right but I'm thinking that a game that can include:

There doesn't seem to be an end to the strange and surprising things that you can encounter in Noby Noby Boy, and each map is dynamic, with plenty of movement and activity by its inhabitants, and new people and things constantly raining down from the sky. You can interact with those people by just wandering around and giving them rides, trying to wrap yourself around them, or, most enjoyably, by eating them, which can produce some astonishing new creations. If you eat a strawberry and a cheerleader and then unceremoniously expel them from your rear, you may get a cheerleader with a smiling strawberry for a head. That may sound crude, but this is one example of how Noby Noby Boy's extremely simple graphics are an asset. The colorful and simplistic visual style makes the whole process of eating and then sending things flying out of your backside cute, funny, and completely inoffensive.

source: http://www.gamespot.com/ps3/action/nobinobiboy/review.html

...will be just fine.

I really hope that Noby Noby Boy isn't nausea inducing like that Katamari Damacy that I don't really like to talk about but it seems...like I could have fun with this, as would Beetchie.

I mean, look at those edible goats!

Currently listening to: "My Mathematical Mind" by Spoon.

Update: Y&R

Back in 2006, we wrote about the most shocking revelation in Genoa City's history.

However, we were alerted to an even more shocking turn of events.

Grey clouds have darkened G.C., my friends.

Brad/George the Jew is no more.

He died while trying to save a teenage Noah from a not so frozen pond.

We didn't get the details but if it's that pond on the ranch, I could have sworn that thing has caused trouble in the past!

H1 and Or 2 believe that Brad/George the Jew was killed off because the execs at Y&R (and I'm looking at Victoria) are racist.

Currently: feeling sorry for George Kaplan.

S7: 24 HC 5 PM - 6 PM

5 PM - 6 PM:

Awww. The chicken head died! It was exactly what Frass didn't want to see. I felt sorry for the chicken head but at least she took down a terrorist in the process. Well, the terrorist might still be alive but not after Jack had him cut open to retrieve a disk. That's right, Jack Bauer is still awesome.

So, is it just me or could the casting have easily had Hillinger and that guy who works for Senator Major (a name that confuses me but like in a weird way - is that really what he's called?) be switched in roles and no one would be able to tell? They look alike! I mean, Sean is uglier though.

Side profiles of some of the cast members - terrible. Everyone was sporting a flat face and it was scaring me.

Thank goodness I no longer have to look at that ugly, can't-even-compare-her-to-an-ugly-animal animal who Hillinger was with, anymore.

Okay, the stairs at the Mall, overlooking the monument and the reflecting pool are never that empty. In fact, there was no body hanging out. I know the place was probably on lock down because of a terrorist attack but really, NO BODY? Yeah right. People seriously needed to be there to distract from the shady Tony A. and Jack Bauer moment that went down. If I saw that shade sitting on some stairs some where, with a perfectly digitally enhanced sunset, I'd be thinking "terrorist activity" or maybe..."commercial shoot"?

Finally... you can take the girl out of the soap opera but you can't take the soap opera out of the girl. That Renee Walker performance was daytime-ish. Wonder if she'll win a day time emmy for her role in a prime time show.

She has some nerve slapping Jack Bauer...twice!

Lent

It's the beginning of Lent.

As H1 always says, we are recovering Catholics.

We don't usually give something up for Lent, per say but this year, we've decided that we will.

This year we will be giving up wishing MC a Happy Birthday.
