Happy St. Paddy's Day (or whatever it is you people call it)!
In celebration of her own day, H1 bought us some cupcakes. Hiding within the chocolate muddy frosting were nasty surprises...
...the sort of nasty surprises that one may close their eyes and have nightmares about.
Or perhaps the sort that will have me sleeping with one eye open tonight.
As if these tiny, green hellions are not terrifying as is, what with a third hand growing out of their heads and straight through their hats (a feather in their cap, you say? Look again!), whilst digging their hands into their chests to tear out their hearts, then certainly...
...the "gold pots" clutched under their arms are cause for alarm. Gold pots? Or children's heads turned to gold?!
Currently: nervously watching my back.

Animal Uprising at the Bronx Zoo: Part III with The Ploy of Polar Puppies, Snow Leopards and the Most Fly Turtle EVA'
Leaving the alligators, crocodiles and all-seeing Madagascan animals behind, we made our way to the great outdoors to visit our friend the Polar Bear.
The polar bear was in a fabulous, playful mood though truth be told, he usually is. Today though, he lured in his victims with his secret plans and clever tricks.
And while those other fools were "oooo-ing" and "aaahh-ing", I was quietly taking pictures and keeping one eye open, readying myself to run the hell out of there if need be. Note: Please click the pictures to enlarge.

Animal Uprising at the Bronx Zoo: Part II with Our Scaly Brethren, Some Birds and a Misrepresentation of Madagascar
When you last left the HOchieS, they were headed towards the den of some bears after hurrying out of vicinity of the Baboon Cafe where trouble was a-brewing.
After making a narrow escape from crushing hugs and not partaking in honey, we found ourselves at the Reptile House.
It was there we found some anxious turtles and witnessed a turtle throwdown.

Animal Uprising at the Bronx Zoo: Part I with Peacocks, Lions, Bears, A Baboon Cover-up and Crazy Gods.
There was something definitely going on at the Bronx Zoo this past Saturday.
From restless animals to the questionable findings of a mysterious substance which can only be described as evidence from a suspected scene of a crime, H1 and I were fearful for our lives.
Along the way through many of the exhibits, we managed to capture some decent pictures of the animals. Please feel free to click the images to enlarge and join us for a visual aid to the Animal Uprising.
The day started off okay. We shared a mini Irish breakfast which we wolfed down in the car but it was upon leaving the car in the Asia Parking Lot at the Zoo that we discovered we were being stalked.

Too Defined
I came across some pictures from the Jlist website of a Revoltech figure of Batman the other day. This figure is set for release at some point this year.
To me, this particular figure is not very appealing. The suit does not look good and almost seems too dull in colour, plain and downright ugly. I am also confused by the golden gun/utility belt and I am fairly certain this is M. Keaton's Batman.
There's nothing wrong with M. Keaton's portrayal of Batman. I would like to state right now that we should all agree that Kevin Conroy is the best Batman in the history of Batmen.
The thing that made me incredibly frightened by this figure was...
::here's your chance to avert your eyes to spare from burning and saving a weak heart if you have one::
His backside is um... not right.
And now that I have drawn your attention to his ass, let me traumatize you further by drawing attention to that bit hanging down in the middle.
Will you also be having nightmares tonight?

Hey Diddle, Diddle
The Cat and his Nemesis
Does anyone think it cruel of me to use this monster to scare the Pumps off the desk?
It worked initially but my scare tactic has since been losing its effectiveness but you know, if I were Pumpkin I would pay heed as to what happened to that yellow dog of a cowardly cat, Sylvester...

Mega Tsunami
As I said a few weeks ago, this is the start of Armageddon.
For years I have been convinced on how the world's going to go. Unfortunately, my rants are coming true and the numerous earthquakes we have been having are to me, a sign of things to come. Yesterday it was Japan's off the coast of Okinawa quake and today, word of an 8.8 on the Southern Chilean coastline.
Earthquakes are terrifying enough and the intense magnitudes make them even scarier.
My other fear?
Mega Tsunami.
Ever since I saw that program on Discovery many, many years ago about a "Mega Tsunami", I have been obsessed.
The earth's trying to kill us!
Poor Chile and all affected by this.

Bad 80's, Bad Synth Pop, and All Sorts of Bad
I know...
Hm.
I know I...
::sigh::
Forgive me while I try to spit this out.
Here goes.
I know I really should not have an opinion right now being that I've only had the opportunity to listen to 30 second sound clips of every song.
But...I'm thinking MUSE's new album might just be a tad bit craptacular this the 5th time around.
Every band's allowed one but wtf, man.
WTF.
Less than a month to confirm failure or be truly mesmerized and eat my words.
Please let it be that I eat my words.
Please?
Currently listening to: "Undisclosed Desires" by MUSE. Oh, it was going so good until Depeche Mode invaded. I've got nothing against DM but MB, DH and CW need to stay away!
I should have known this would happen! This is the first album cover I like! Ugh.

The Scary Stuff at Nintendo World
Bughie J., H1 said I should take this picture for you -

what's that blue one doing?
I think H1 was traumatized and bad memories came rushing back to me as well when I remembered giant spotted bug beasties chomping and rolling.
Secretly...the rolling on always kinda cracked me up.
Currently listening to: "Hurt Feelings" by Flight of the Conchords. I feel like a prize asshole.

Zombies Alert
This is also the stuff of nightmares for me. Lately I've been thinking about it lots but I don't know what I'd do if I saw zombies crawling around the front yard.

You know, that was just not funny. Whoever did this won't be laughing when it really happens.
Currently listening to: "Friends" by Flight of the Conchords. This show is phenomenal this season.

Happy Decemberween!!!!
Another year, another Decemberween. I'm dreading going over to H1's house because Diderick and The Cheat did no get to open their presents yet (oh yes, I managed to find something for them yesterday...phew) but now, we didn't get to drink and open pyos like we usually do on Decemberween Eve. Heh...
Merry Christmas to all! The pyo list will be updated later but first, thank you to all for the gifts and the well wishes!
In the meanwhile, welcome to the The HOchieS Christmas 2008 Blog Layout, where we go inside and do an extreme close up of someone's Christmas Tree. I don't think it's ours.

Winter's On Its Way
Much to H1's dismay.
I haven't told her yet but I heard talk of flurries in the morning.
She'll be well cranky tomorrow.
Another sign that Winter's coming, was the sight of this fat ass squirrel.

The fatty was a sly one.
His back was mostly turned to me and he ignored that I was calling him. He did not budge when corn bread was tossed to him but when he was finished munching on whatever strange thing he had been investing in, he made his way to the corn bread.
Papa HOchie and I then threw him some walnuts but he didn't want those.
It's a good thing I was paying attention because I stepped outside to take a better picture of him and the next thing I knew, he was almost on top of me!
There, he was, trying to jump on my foot and give me plague. It would have been a horror story if he had darted into the house.
Here's the asshole with his chunky squirrel ass to me, as all animals enjoy doing.

Momma HOchie says he's the squirrel brother to Pumpkin. I would thank her to not call my cat fat.
He's big-boned!

Currently listening to: "Vessel" by Nine Inch Nails.

Hoping

The HOchieS are at this moment, feeling even more anxious than yesterday.
We're hoping our votes count towards something amazing and that tomorrow when we wake up, we won't be sacrificial moose for Palin to gun down.
She'll regret it one day though, the moose killings.
When she's living out her hell in a Room with a Moose.

Edit (11/05/08): Enjoy your Moosey Fate.

Black Holes
I don't know what time the Large Hadron Collider's being turned on, but tomorrow's the day the earth could end. I'll be sure to check the news to see if any black holes formed and sucked down the smug scientists when I awake in the morning, so that I don't have to waste time going to work.
Currently listening to: "Supermassive Black Hole" by MUSE. Here's hoping there's none of that tomorrow.
P.S. H1, you left CLee the Chicken with Chick over hya.

Rabbit, Rabbit, Rabbit. Hare Hare Hare.
It just occurred to me that maybe it's "here here here" or "hear hear hear" (this one doesn't really make sense) and that perhaps all these years I've been thinking and saying it incorrectly hence our not winning the lottery. I'll have to verify but until that time...
Here's to another failed month, then.
It's also April Fool's Day. This isn't a day we play tricks upon or get tricked upon by others since no one I know really cares about it except those Gmail/Google Conquerors of the Future World. Set your custom time to that, Gmail and embark on your journey out in space, Google.
H1 and I aren't worthy of being Virgles.
Here's H1's result:
Okay, let's just get this over with quickly, like ripping off a medical adhesive: you did not do well on this test. You are not, by all available evidence, well suited to be a Virgle Pioneer, or any sort space explorer, really, or for that matter, any profession which requires leaving behind your creature comforts, your nice warm bed, your lovely wardrobe, your gourmet meals, your high-end home theater, your friends and family -- oh man, what have we gotten ourselves into here? We're kind of freaking out ourselves, actually. Help! We changed our minds! We don't want to go! [Clicks heels.] There's no place like home! There's no place like home! There's no place like -- [ Long silence. ] Hello. Still there? We're sorry about that unpleasantness with our previous reviewer. We can assure you, you tested just fine and would make a fine Pioneer; all you have to do is submit your video here.
