Mitch *Connors*, Connoisseur of Old Ladies

It has come to our attention that Mitch *Connors* has Old Ladies crushing on him hardcore.

Old Ladies

that pick him out of crowds in Rochester, not because he's the only black kid in a sea of white...

And Old Ladies that cook him extravagant dinners of boiled potatoes and some kind of beef (we will never identify because that shit is in the trash where it belongs. As we all know, them Old Ladies can poison your ass and molest you when you're out cold), not because they might be slightly unstable upper lip only lipstick wearing mfs...

It's 'cause when you're the MC, you know how to handle your buisness and rock it.

The 24 Head Count

My plan for the next five months is to watch every episode of 24 before season 6's premiere in January.
With about 5 people on my ass to watch this show, I finally caved and decided to give into the madness.
I think I may have screwed myself because in order to be prepared for January, I am required to watch 120 episodes in the series thus far.
I broke it down and figured 8 episodes a week or 32 a month will help me reach my goal.
Hardcore, yes.

HOchie 1 and I have watched 12 AM through 7 AM (well actually HOchie 1 watched 4 - 7 and then cheated and read recaps of the rest of the day - damn that HOchie!)

So far it's not bad. I've figured out everything right before it happens so nothing has come as a major surprise. It's still entertaining though.

That and:

I do feel sorry for poor dead Tony every time I see him. Though Mitch *Connors* informs he deserved to die because he was stupid and should have seen it coming. I have yet to have any real reason to love or hate him but right now he's classified under "annoying" because he keeps watching Jack like a hawk... though he DID do a smart thing last episode and I can respect that.

Oh, sorry to all who read this and actually wanted to watch this show and I just ruined it for you.

Anyway, I'm blogging about this because I've decided I need to do a running 24 head count of everyone who gets offed per hour.

The head count will be more specific and broken down in the future but for now -

I've got the count at about 424 by the end of 7 AM. That's a very rough estimate...

Thought for the day: Jamie, whhyyy?!!! Stupid Biatch! I hate you!

"Well I Refuse To Let You Go"

It's been 3 years since I've had what many call an unhealthy obsession with MUSE.

There was the time I was assed out of seeing them at Webster Hall. I was incredibly pissed. I cursed.

Then there was the time I seriously considered going to London for 3 days, the week of Christmas in 2004 to catch them at Earls Court. I never made it and cursed some more.

And then, I passed up getting tickets to Audioslave due to potential conflict with MUSE's concerts dates. They ended up sucking it up by doing a campus invasion tour and the only NY campus they performed at was Albany. And hell, I'd certainly go to London for 3 days but there's no way in hell I'd go to Albany for a day. No one in their right mind would do that crap.
I cursed MTV and stupid Americans for not supporting them enough to give them a chance to play bigger venues than crappy campuses. They're big everywhere else but here.

Result: Completely missed the Absolution Tour. And as expected, a lot of !@?*$?!@!-ing went down on my part.

18 months later, the first U.K. single was released from the new album Black Holes and Revelations and I was mortified.

"What the hell is this?! Noooo, that's not Matt's vocals! Well, they kind of are...Oh god, this is so embarrassing... But hey, it's...Kind of good, actually. Unlike them but I can deal with this. It's totally a stripper song but I do love me some strippers (don't forget this was BEFORE the Pussycat Lounge)."
Being a MUSE elitist, I fell in love with "Supermassive Blackhole" but please, don't go watch the video. They're Brits. You have to excuse their 'art'.

A week later came the U.S. single release. I was not fond then and I'm not overly fond now. The video also doesn't help. Please don't go watch the video. They're Brits. You have to excuse their 'art' and sometimes, their sense of humour. Though, fighting off robots in a western setting by the awesome power of B H & R's reflective properties is somewhat funny. It's reminiscent of Mentos, the fresh maker. Or Footos. Either one.

Anyway, B H & R came out. I listened. I loved. Not as much as say, Origin of Symmetry but after last night, I've an appreciation for every goddamned song off that goddamned album. Even that "Knights of Cydonia" but like I said, I'm still not overly fond now. I will only listen to it in a concert setting because only then is it amazing to me.

That's right. I was actually trying to make a point here.

The 3rd day of August has finally ushered some sense of awesome into this HOchie's life after a long 7 month spell of bad luck, more downs than ups and a series of mishaps.

Thank you, MUSE.

Those who came with me:

1. Beetchie, who I had to drag kicking and screaming. Haha, just kidding. Don't kill me. And no, I don't hate you long time. I heart you, "Hardcore", as you would say.
2. No. 8, who I know was secretly trying to ruin things for me somehow.
3. Franz, the skeptic but who actually wanted to come and no I don't owe him anything in return. You hear me, Franz?! NOTHING!!!!

We waited in line forever amidst a wonderful frickin' heat wave NY had to go through for 3 days with temperatures reaching near 100. Finally we were ushered into the Hammerstein ballroom and I had to deal with two boys trying to oust me from my spot on the floor, some crazy fan girls who I made 'friends' with for the night to my benefit and theirs and an anorexic girl with her anorexic boyfriend who managed to push me aside even though I had the elbows out. I now know that being annorexic works to your advantage at a concert as it's so easy to slip between a crack.
What didn't work out was the B.O. she was spewing. I don't know what is up with people smelling before a concert but as discussed in the MSI blog, it's just plain wrong. And oh! oh! I think I saw that MSI B.O. kid at MUSE but he wasn't ranking this time. Good for you, kid. Good for you.
What also didn't work out for me, didn't work out for her. She must have been very conscious of herself and perhaps my evil glances and words to Beetchie didn't help the situation because she and her bf left much to my delight and I grabbed my chance to get in there, much to the dismay, bitchin' and complain' of the two guys who I had to fight before.

Result: I lost Franz, Beetchie and No. 8 who had been standing behind me. It was okay though because I could still look over and see Franz during the show.
Beetchie informs me there was a semi-pit which she tried to tear up but no one was really moshing so she had to jump in one place but she had fun.
And I've no clue where No. 8 got to during the whole thing but she was okay as well.

After an interesting set by the opening act The Cloud Room, which was not well received by anyone in that crowd but honestly, I didn't find them that horrible (but let's keep that dirty little secret to ourselves, shall we?). Wait, you know what? I'm going to give a tiny blurb to this band because they sounded good minus the indistinguishable vocals on lead and I rather enjoyed the drum work even though it almost killed my heart. They were from Crooklyn and I think they tried to diss Queens which always gives one creds. So yeah, for those of you who care, which I suspect is no one, here's their little setlist minus the 2 songs because I just don't know what they were:

Sunlight Song (possibly the Reprise)
Waterfall
Blackout!
Hey Now Now
The Hunger
*new song
????

Alright, I'm done with them. Ok, not quite. The guitarist was cool. And they sadly had to clean up their own mess after their set. Ah, the life of an unknown opening act... Ok, now I'm done.

And after a long 40 minute set up by the roadies, with much oohs and aahs by all who saw the veil come off the gigantic drumkit Dom was supposed to rock on, my band finally took the stage.

The lights darkened and the techno started - Dom fiddling with equipment revealed the first track. Then in came Chris with that bass... Followed by Matt's vocals:

"Corrupt
You corrupt
Bring corruption to all that you touch
Hold
You behold
And beholden for all that you've done
And spell
Cast a spell
Cast a spell on the country you run
And risk
You will risk
You will risk all their lives and their souls

And burn
You will burn
You will burn in hell, yeah you'll burn in hell
You'll burn in hell
Yeah you'll burn in hell
For your sins

And our freedom's consuming itself
What we've become
It's contrary to what we want

Take a bow"

And when Matt took a bow, it was then it hit me - I'm finally here and this is going to be amazing...

Depending on who you love and if you're given that opportunity, you need to position yourself accordingly:

Left for Matt.
Center for Dominic.
Right for Chris.

I'm a lefty myself because as we all know, I'm all about my future husband. Luckily for me, and after much screaming at Franz to get in the goddamned line and to stop screwing with me by telling me he'll wait for me on the side since I was running a few minutes late, I made it in with Matt directly in front of me save the one body in my way. But she didn't count as she was short and I could easily look over her shoulder.

WARNING - unnecessary gushing ahead (and DISCLAIMER - I'm only kidding about Brits and their bad teeth, the assback and sense of humour because I have to cover my ass if say, Matt Bellamy for whatever reason were to read this one day or some Brit or European were to read this):

I could see his face, every sweet little smile, his very blue eyes, that scary crease he gets on his brow when he sings, his bad Brit teeth that I've come to terms with and that mole he's got on his cheek. And I was trying to figure out if he has an assback...I couldn't quite make it out but he may have had a little ass going there in those red jeans. The assback has yet to be confirmed.

The stage set up itself was for a big arena which I think would be stellar for their more epic songs like "Ruled by Secrecy" and "Apocalypse Please" and others which they performed that night but being right in front in that small venue was still hella awesome. They worked with what they had and did it nicely.

They played all the songs I thought they would save one which I will bitch about later but everything was incredibly performed and phenomenal. Matt played that piano with such class. I was wowed by the guitar changes that went on after every song and of course, just how skilled he is with that instrument. That guitar with distortion pad will be mine someday... And his voice...is so beautiful and holds up so well. I had to zone everything else out when he hit that falsetto. Dom rocked that kit like nobody's buisness and I couldn't really see Chris (mostly due to the fact that my eyes were glued to Matt) but I could hear his brilliance. The only bad thing was that I couldn't see Chris' skills on "Hysteria". Curses!

It was really cute how Matt and Dom were so proud of themselves in managing to work the crowd into a frenzy during "New Born". They were all smiles at how great the response from the crowd was for that.

There were a couple of nice surprises - they did one instrumental piece I never expected, and one that is new and will now desperately try to find. Also a surprise, "Soldier's Poem" which I welcomed with an "awwwww".

And even the songs I am not very in love with, namely "Invincible" and that blasted "Knights of Cydonia" sounded so much more fantastic live because they were done with such unrivaled energy with massive guitar solos coupled with grandiose stances involving Matt in the center of the stage with head held high and the 'we're number 1' finger in the air (not pictured here because damn that Bells, he's too frickin' quick for me - I got him when he took his hand down), that I would love to see them performed again.

The 1 hour and 20 minute long setlist:

Take A Bow
Hysteria
Supermassive Black Hole
Butterflies and Hurricanes
Starlight
Forced In
Bliss
Soldier's Poem
Invincible
Feeling Good
*instrumental piece unknown
Plug In Baby
New Born
Stockholm Syndrome

Encore:

Map of the Problematique
Time Is Running Out
Knights of Cydonia

The time flew by so fast due to song after song of fast paced greatness, save the cooling down "let's give my vocals and our crazy playing a rest for two seconds by playing "Forced In" and "Soldier's Poem" moment. Even their rest between the encore was fast and I thought to myself, "Wow, they even pee fast". I was hoping for a longer show but was generally happy with this setlist. Of course, I was screaming when they played "Map of the Problematique" because it has to be, other than "Hoodoo", my favourite song from this album and one of their best songs ever.

So 3 years later, I am now partially blinded by an impressive laser light show NOT put on by The Cheat, partially deafened by speakers so huge had one fallen on me I'd be dead along with 20 people in my immediate space and one supermassive headache brought on by 3 1/2 hours of sleep due to too much excitement and pain all wrapped up in one - I finally saw the greatest band in the world. Yes, HOchie 1. I know, that title should be reserved for U2 but indulge me this moment.

Highlights of the show (ie the already awesome songs made even more awesome during a live show):

New Born
Stockholm Syndrome
Feeling Good - because when Matt laid that megaphone down on the piano, we all knew what was song was coming up. The megaphone is legendary! And so is how he got rid of it. Behind the back and off to the side ::TOSS::!!!!!!

WTF moments of the evening:

6. "Who the hell are these bitches on stage trying to introduce MUSE? MTV College Radio who what now?...huh?! WTF!!! Get the fuck off stage!!!!!!"

5. Why did Chris do the rocker's growl on "Supermassive Black Hole"? Matt? WTF?!!!!

4. WTF was that little gremlin doing next to Dom's drumkit? It looked like he was doing back up keyboard work but I'm not quite sure...

3. WTF was up with Matt's hair? It's called fans, people.

2. Matt to Dom - "Stop. Stop. STOP! Oh.. ::sheepish confused look:::" at the beginning of a song when he was having technical difficulties with his guitar but it started working soon after Dom started the song. The WTF moment came from Dom when he was looking at Matt with the WTF face. Hahahaha.

1. And the biggest WTF moment of the night - No "Muscle Museum"??!! I waited 3 years to see them perform one of their most popular, if not most popular song that they always play, ALWAYS - every time I've seen footage of them and the best live song as far as I'm concerned and they didn't do it!!!!!! WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, I am fully aware of what the ticket has printed in caps there but fuck it! I took pictures of them anyway!! "NO CAMERAS" my ass!!! Muwahahahahahaha!!! And now all of you get to gaze upon him too...Double the muwahahahaha! Don't you all feel lucky?

No, not a prison uniform.

Poor Megaphone...

Dominic!!!!!!!!! I can't see your hilarious self behind that drumkit. I love you anyway.

I anxiously await the time when I see them again. But next time I expect a longer set with my "Muscle Museum" tossed in, "Citizens Erased" and "Space Dementia".

And that comes, if all goes well, November 21st at Wembley Arena in London - Who's in???!!!!

Currently listening to: "The Queen and I" by Gym Class Heroes. Don't ask. I saw the video and it's kind of catchy. Don't judge me!!!!!

It's Official!

I am finished with the specials on the Kenka menu.

But honestly, who knew that bull penis would be the lesser of two evils?
Turkey Testicles - the second most vile thing on the planet.

Speaking of the first most vile thing, I don't know why I do this to myself but I had to be an asshat and try Durian ice-cream. It was as expected. And let us never speak of this again.

The other thing on the Kenka menu that I finally ate was an entire fried frog. it tasted of chicken and fish combined. It was good stuff actually.

Song and quote of the day:

"It's time to face the truth, 'cause I'll never be with you...

That's how I feel about.............

David Beckham." - Sons.

HOchie 1 "Do you guys feel my industrial strength fan?"
Tones "OOOOOHHHHH gOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUd!!!!"

Currently playing: "Who Wrote Holden Caufield" by Green Day.

We Eat Ham and Jam and Spamalot

After over a year of trying to fanagle tickets (and actually considering buying them at 300 bucks) to one of the hottest shows on Broadway, the HOchieS and friends finally made it to "Spamalot" on 86 dollar tickets. Our seats were not bad at all and certainly not that crap partial viewing that was trying to be sold to us for months.
We missed the cast that included Tim Curry, David Hyde Pierce and Hank Azaria and while that's a little sad, I was quite happy with the cast we saw. The show was hilarious as expected from a Monty Python production. The songs may not be as memorable as say "Avenue Q" (which we saw two years ago and to this day we still sing "The Internet is for Porn" and state on occasion "Grab your dick and double-click; Porn Porn Porn"), but classic MP memories will live on from this show. There's not much to say about the show because although I could toss quotes back and forth, you just have to be there to understand.
After the show, Beetchie being an autograph opportunist ran off to get her playbill signed. Of course, in true dorkdom fashion, I followed and Sons came with us. We managed to get the autographs of Sir Not Appearing (Kevin Covert), Sir Lancelot (Steve Kazee), Prince Herbert (Christian Borle - who incidentally was trying his best to sneak away after the show but we accosted him nicely), some unrecognizable signature I have here nor do I remember who it was... and King Arthur (Harry Groener).
One word for Lancelot - hot. And I've got a picture to justify my decree. As for myself in that picture, two words - not hot. Ah well. Apparently no one should take pictures of me whilst I'm speaking but whatever, we should all be gazing upon Lancelot anyway.
My only regret is that we did not get the autograph of THE Eric Idle.

Of course, the best performance of the evening came from my favourite character:

I love you!!!!!

Quote of the evening:

"Forget the Prince. Look de King! Get the King! The KING!!" - Tones.
All Hail the King.

Quote of July 27th:
"The potentials are horrendous." - HOchie 1, on the outcome of a ginger and black union.

The D.C. Blog

Work is overrated but much more fun when you know that by 2 p.m. you'll be on a road trip with good friends!
Thanks for making work overrated stupid traffic - we didn't actually hit the road until 3.30 p.m. That extra hour and a half really killed it.

Being stuck in the car for 9 hours when the trip was supposed to be 4 hours is not good times. Can someone tell me if George Washington had as much trouble crossing the Delaware as we did? Delaware may need to be a part of the new Axis of Evil.

No one needs to tell me about New Jersey being hell, I already know because where else do you have people driving around in their cars with multi-coloured rollers in their heads?

At least we had interesting times watching and taking incriminating photos of sketch people driving while on their cellphones and doing recon missions on MC while he was on his cellphone. There were such classic lines as:

MC "You don't have time for me when I'm in Brooklyn..."
X, singing off to the side "All I need is the air that I breathe."

Finally at 11.30 we made it and even though we were cranky it was alright because what followed was fun save the part where more crankiness ensued the night after...and the day after that. Heh Heh...

After much laughing and HOchie 1 telling us that she could hear MC from her hotel room two doors down, we settled in and slept until morning, which brought me an awesome breakfast of a belgian waffle with strawberries and whipped cream. Now, it's only awesome because diners insist on screwing me over with their lack of bwwsawc.

Then came the walking. We walked all over D.C. and explored the monuments. It was there I had a few words with Lincoln, Slave Daddy. Aims was not impressed by my reasoning behind the title but Mitch and I know the real deal with the 16th President of the USA.

And it was there that the ducks had a few words with me or rather, showed me their asses. Man, I hate those bitchin' ass ducks.

We then took the shady metro to the Washington Zoo. The Metro is nothing like NY. The ticket system is shady. It's not simple like NY leaving me grounded in my belief that NY is still number 1 - yeah!!!

Before we could actually get to the zoo, we had to go up "The Escalator To Hell" or was it Heaven? Not sure but whatever it was, it took 2 minutes and 42 seconds to ride. Crazy!
The zoo was fun minus the double dose of annoying frickin' Behemoths. Grrrr.

Why did this happen though? What's up with animals in this place showing me their asses?!

But what was really hella awesome - my biatch Komodo Dragon. I don't know how smart the Komodo's keeper was because my ass wouldn't be in the enclosure trying to lure the Komodo in. Ah, he was a bitch though that KD; he ignored initial attempts at getting him in. "Am I interested? Meh. ::lumbered off::" That's what I do sometimes. We're kindred spirits.

At 5 p.m. we set off to see the cutest pandas eva'. Tian was being a Drama Queen. He flopped himself down on the floor all panting like as though it was the end of the world. Poor stupid panda. It was rather hot and humid though. Who can blame him?
Mei, the best lOOking panda eva' was tearing up bamboo like nobody's buisness, as expected. Bamboo was flying everywhere and all you could see was Mei's cute little head sticking out from a huge pile of the green stuff. It was awesome.

Finally, the main reason why we made this trip, the star of it all - Tai Shan became visbile to us. The little baby had his back to his viewing audience which prompted HOchie 1 to toss a mini hissy fit, scaring this dude next to her. But, due to clumsiness, Tai who had been munching on an apple, dropped said fruit and was forced to climb down his perch and then back up in all his cutie panda glory - ushering coos, squeals of delight and 'oooo's and ahhhh's' from all his fans.
The remainder of the evening was spent hanging out with TD5 and his family for good eats and good times.

That night back at the hotel was hilarious. X heard nothing and all I could make out was "It's MC" but apparently TD5 "porn slapped" MC which he claimed was really his getting up stupid in the middle of the night not knowing where he was and asking, "who dat?!" ::slap:: followed by MC's, "It's MC". Since it seemed they sorted themselves out I didn't bother to wake up completely.

The next morning was the most fun part of the weekend. HOchie 1, Luis and Aims set off for the American Indian Museum while MC, X and I made our way to the Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Indian and African exhibits. Our pictures are hilarious. There are such memorable moments as "India vs. China in Japan", "Praying to the Sun God, Rah", "Red Ninja Ho of the Red Ninja Clan - D.C. Division" and "I don't know how to wrap iiittttt". We were infused with culture and had fun while doing it. Don't judge us!

The trip back home was long, once again thank you to NJ but not as bad as before. MC, X and I did get our asses handed to us though in round 3 of the Car Outburst Champeenship.

All in all it was fun.

Though, the question remains: was it really worth it being stuck in the car for 9 hours, a trip that was supposed to be about 4, to see that Panda?

A few general notes about Washington D.C.:

The signs are cool because this is EXACTLY how I run:

Everything is consolidated in D.C. There's the chinese food/fried chicken/seafood/crab/lobster eatery all in one on every corner. And these are right next to the lottery/liqour/pawn shop/spa shops. It's brilliant! They're on to something...

D.C. is FULL of Plague Carriers!!! ::shudder::

And don't mess with shady people in shady vans

Animal Story 2

Python Gulps Queen-Size Electric Blanket

KETCHUM, Idaho (AP) -- It took surgery to save a 12-foot Burmese python after it swallowed an entire queen-size electric blanket - with the electrical cord and control box.

The blanket must have gotten tangled up in the snake's rabbit dinner, owner Karl Beznoska said. He kept the blanket in the cage to keep the 60-pound reptile, named Houdini, warm.

"Somehow, he was able to unplug the electric cord," Beznoska said Wednesday. "He at least wasn't hooked up to the power. It might have been pretty warm there."

Veterinarian Karsten Fostvedt conducted a two-hour operation on the python Tuesday, and said afterward, "The prognosis is great."

An animal I should not be in my next life - an electric blanket. I mean, burmese python. Or a rabbit, now that I think about it...

Animal Story 1

Scientists: Sea Squirts Invading LI Sound

GROTON, Conn. -- A blob-like creature is invading Long Island Sound and posing a threat to its lobsters and other shellfish, University of Connecticut scientists say.

The researchers say they have found colonies of invasive sea squirts, blob-shaped animals that reproduce easily, on the floor of the sound.

They believe this variety of sea squirt, known as didemnum, arrived on the hulls of ships from Asia. They have no known predators.

"This thing has the potential for causing significant economic impact when it attaches to the floor of the Sound, where it blankets and suffocates shellfish and lobsters,'' said Ivar Babb, director of UConn's Undersea Research Center at Avery Point in Groton.

The animals range in color from a creamy translucent pearl to olive or tan. In Japan, there are some red species.

"This thing is ugly,'' Babb said. "It has no socially redeeming virtues.''

They cannot break the colonies apart, Babb said. Like sea stars that become damaged, they can grow replacement parts. Splitting one sea squirt in half doesn't kill it; it only creates two of the plankton-eating creatures.

If the scientists don't find bigger quantities of the blob-like creature, they might use chlorine or vinegar to kill it. First, however, they plan to study the effect those substances might have on other marine life native to the Sound.

Information from: Connecticut Post, http://www.connpost.com

I lost the squirts!!!!! But here they are. All gathered in one area, blanketing one of the new axis of evil places. Good job, squirts. Good job!!!!

A few points about this story:

1. No known predators, you say? So...in my next life, my choices have expanded on what I would like to be - a crocodile, shark or sea squirt.

2. Oooo, being chopped into pieces only creates more of us! That's one awesome creature. And so what if the trade off is that it's one ugly beast? Whatever.

3. It's blanketing LI, people! Muwahahahaha. I knew that place was evil.

4. I don't like LI but I do like shellfish... well, can't have something for nothing, I guess. It's for the greater good.

5. There's a red species in Japan. I am not so not surprised.

Good Times with Friends and the Not-So Good Times with Strippers

"Cute but evil."

I certainly can be sometimes.

A week ago Mitch, X, Beetchie and I went to Kenka for dinner.
Why am I evil? Because anyone who doesn't really eat pork and/or is tall then 60% of the menu at Kenka is not for you nor are the tiny chairs they make you sit your ass on. Ahahahaha. Poor Mitch. He has every right to curse me.

He didn't like the pork gyozas but that's only due to the fact that he is crazy. And it took a long time for him to finally decide on what he should have but he ended up eating a ginger-flavoured beef dish. I think he actually enjoyed it...

X had ramen and we shared our grilled buttered scallops.

Beetchie and I had awesome times (note the not so awesome times we had at the last trip to Kenka):
Una Don (grilled eel over rice) which was soooo good. Grilled eel is awesome.

Fried flour balls with octopus. They burnt us being that we stupidly tried to devour them immediately but mmmm...There's nothing like fried flour and mayo.

Stingray fin, chewy goodness.

Salted Pork Ribs - need I say anything else?

With time to kill we talked, drank cocktails that involved bizarre concoctions and photos were taken of X drunk off her ass after one sip of said cocktails. She wasn't really but the picture says otherwise.

We headed out to see The Street Bohemians, a band in which apparently I have stock - the bassist (Melissa the crazy Mongolian) and lead singer (No.8) are my friends. Being this their first public performance, I figured I had no excuse but to go but I certainly was trying to find something. Har Har.
Lured by the potential of seeing strippers, quote "If the set is going downhill, I'm going downstairs to the strippers", we trooped off to the Pussycat Lounge in the Financial District.

Those SBs were pretty decent. Musically, the band sounded great. They were comfortable with each other.
No. 8 was a little shaky on the vocals at the start but being the first gig, she was a little nervous but became more confident further into the set.

Battler as always amazes me by the strength and clarity of her voice, her sheer coolness and antics on stage and of course, her bass skills. I have a heterosexual girl crush on her as a rocker. Yep. She knows. And she puts that compliment right up there with the "You make me sick" comment I made to her a few weeks ago. She assures me she'll treasure them forever.

As decent as they were though, I informed them that the next show I attend will be at Madison Square Garden or else no dice. I don't think No. 8 was very impressed by me but meh.

On to the strippers!

With a name like the Pussycat Lounge and a crowd of young, business men you'd think good times were abound but as the title of this entry already implies - that was SO not the case.

We did have quite a selection of strippers though. Let's see...there was the one that was 3 months pregnant. Then there was the one who was a tranny (oh yes, we saw the back of that when she/he turned around...). And then there was fried eggs...

Impressive the way she could alternately move one boob up and down after the other but we're not sure what kind of fried eggs Beetchie has been eating but she claims that's what that display reminded her of.

After we decided it wasn't even worth it to do dances of our own to show up the strippers and collect their dough (quite frankly, I think the pregnant one would have slayed us had that gone down), we all set off for home. Beetchie and Mitch back to Crooklyn and X and I to her place on the UWS.

After washing away the disappointment of my first stripclub via a well needed shower, X and I did what we do best. We talked until ungodly hours in the morning until finally falling asleep.
And then came the police and ambulance sirens...

And then came X screaming at me that it was my fault something was going down at 3.30 in the morning...
It really wasn't my fault but we figure I've some kind of dark, negative energy surrounding me that I need to be taking care of and hence, a usually quiet neighbourhood turns into chaos.

Luckily our building was not going down in a fiery explosion but perhaps something like it (or whatever warranted police and ambulance services) at the building next door. And then there was the poor old man who was attacked by a crazy dude wielding electric saws at the subway stop right after X's.
I had nothing to do with any of that but pretty soon people aren't going to want to hang around me anymore...

Thursday saw a whole lot of nothing happening save extreme tiredness from the fun-filled night of scary strippers the night before.

Friday - Pirates of the Caribbean. We gathered as much of the clan as we could to go see this unnecessarily long, not enough Johnny Depp, sorry excuse for a movie.
And even though the movie (starring Beetchie as the Kraken) was not fantastic, having the friends together, sitting in an overpriced midtown diner and then in the theatre is equivalent to the best times this Hochie can have.

Stupid things like walking with Stupid Franz to Toys R' Us and having incriminating photos taken at Barbie's Dream House make these times memorable (but note to self, destroy photos).
Beetchie, Battler and I sat together and we laughed our asses off the entire time because of the idiotic comments that always pass our lips when we're together watching a film. I know, people hate us. We're just like Mystery Theatre commentators. We're horrible.

Saturday involved the Adidas Store, Chinatown, shady neurologists, The Chicken Arcade, Shanghai dumplings, rice pudding and a scary-assed rat.

First, Mitch and I went to the Adidas store in one last attempt to acquire some France World Cup gear for the final. Let us just say this - if there's a shirt on display in the window, you better believe you should be selling it to me if you're out of stock and if not, then take it out of the damned window. Asshats!

We pissily made our way to Chinatown, met Beetchie and ate Baos. Mitch then left my ass to go take a three hour nap and Beetchie and I headed to her appointment with a neurologist.

Now, I'm not saying said neurologist didn't have creds on her wall...wait..did she? Ha, she did. She did. But there was something so suspect about the whole thing. Maybe it's just that everyone was being extra mean to the 1/2 breed Asian HoChie but I don't know. I guess you just had to be there.

And for those of you reading this and are concerned about the welfare of Beetchie (yes, that means you Beetchie - you're probably the only one concerned...ooo! I'm kidding. I heart you?), I think she'll be okay. She better be.

In typical fashion, with time to kill before dinner, Beetchie and I decided to float around someplace to build up an appetite. And how better to do so than to visit a Chicken Arcade. I am still a little fuzzy on why it is called the chicken arcade but I know it had something to do with live chickens and games... Now, it's just a regular arcade but there are pictures on the walls of various chickens to prove that chickens once played a vital role in that dark place.

Beetchie proceeded to kick my ass in Street Fighter Puzzle and racing. I crashed many times as expected. Then there was Miss Pac-Man and Jr. Pac-Man and we both sucked.

Dumplings - what I wouldn't give to go to a Dumpling House in Taiwan... We did the next best thing which was to go to a Shanghainese restuarant. It was the first time I had Shanghai style dumplings and even though the soupy goodness inside went down my throat too quickly and it was hot, oh man was that awesome!!!!

After dinner, we made an attempt to find "Rice to Riches", an upscale rice pudding dessert spot if you can believe that. Who knew rice pudding could be high class? Our attempts were fruitful and we feasted upon rice pudding of the cookies and cream variety (this after we sampled damned near 5 types of rice pudding this place had to offer including banana and rocky road).
And then it happened - I lost Beetchie...

To this!!!!!!

I hate it that this is the last I saw of her - Oh Beetchie... I always knew that a random rat on a swing would get you...I always knew... =,(

Anyway, about Sunday (I'm all about fast recoveries):

The final in the 2006 World Cup.

As all know, I was supporting England because I figured that if I had to support a football team, it should be the best looking one. Someone commented once that they didn't understand my loyalty to England considering I was more supportive to that country having not been born there nor never been for more than a few days than the bastards who were actually born and raised there. My response, "Stockholm Syndrome".
And then when England went down, I supported Germany.

And then Germany went down and I could care less but Mitch insisted that there be a World Cup lime at the HoChies. Mitch was backing France and I decided I wanted them to win rather than my enemy team Italy.
I am now being blamed for the Zidane headbutting incident because my voodoo doll "Spider Boy" worked WAY too well when I was shaking it on behalf of a hopeful victory for France. His job is to tangle the enemy in a web just long enough for you to escape or do something. Well...I guess Zidane decided he needed to headbutt that ass.

And France lost.

So the dolls worked but not quite the way they should have...

That's me.

"Cute but evil".

Memorable quotes:

MC "I like my tea black like me."

Me "Rhinna has man hands!"
MC and Frass "Oh gawd, it's true!"
Frass "Doh worry, all she need is some ponds. She from Barbados."

During the game of dominoes -

MC "Wait, I can't play this...these numbers go up to 9. I can't count past 6."

Frass "I don't know how to play...oh, ok. So I match whatever number is on the tile . Um, what should I play?"
Me "What do you mean 'what number'?! The only number you can play - 9! It's double 9 on the board!!!! Stupid Frass..."

Which Sesame Street Characters Are We Most Like?

A scarf started this entire discussion.

TheHOchies present:

Which Sesame Street Characters Are TheHOchies and Friends Most Like?

note: this list can be amended and recommendations are welcome but not necessarily accepted. =)

HOchie 1:

Preposterous Puppy

Oscar the Grouch's puppy who surprisingly, is even more of a grouch than Oscar. But who can deny the cuteness when he chews the cud and occasionally tries to bite all that touch him?

Or 2:

I haven't decided yet who I am most like... the only things I could think of was the Shark that jumped into Bert's & Ernie's boat after Bert called for him or the pink bottle cap with the black star that Bert has in his collection. I know. Weak.

Medium Budgie

Wilemmina

"Wuh Wuh Wuh!!! W is for Wilemmina!" Because what else could W stand for? Certainly not something ridiculous like "Wesley". Preposterous! Uh, HOchie 1!

X:

Remember that girl with the scarf over her head? The little vagabond who longingly gazed at Cookie Monster's cookies as he ate it? "Share?". And when CM finally did, that cookie was gone like nobody's buisness!!!! "Nyumm Yumm Nyumm grra rraa nyumm" SCARY! But so X... ahahahahahahahaha.

MC:

Grover

Quote HOchie 1: Grover is black. And Mitch is black.

SF:

Telly

Honestly, do I REALLY need to go into any sort of explanation?

Beetchie:

The Letter Q

Man 1 "That's a funny looking thing."
Man 2 "No it isn't, it's the letter Q."
Man 1 "Hmm, I still say it's a funny looking thing."
Man 2 "YOU'RE a funny looking thing."

Yep, that's Beetchie - a funny looking thing. Har Har.

Ah, so wrong yet so right on so many levels...

The Bughie

Travis Traveling!

Travis Traveling likes to travel! On a unicycle, no less. I'm not sure how this relates to the Bughie but it does. It's not the fact that he travels on a unicycle and any other form of transportation but he's so knowledgeable, that Travis Traveling. That is the character that comes to mind.

Brooklyn Hype (Part One)

There's sure to be some adventure or misadventure when Beetchie and I are together. Whether it involves dumplings flying into small cups of soy sauce, playing 'guitar hero' while surrounded by stupid 10 year olds who want to get their asses kicked or this latest craziness - something always goes down. ALWAYS.

Eyewitness News

(Sunset Park - WABC, June 23, 2006) - A roach bomb is being blamed for an explosion at a bakery in Brooklyn Friday night.

It happened inside the Sunset Park Bakery at 60th Street and Eighth Avenue around 9:30 p.m. Investigators say an employee was spraying bug killer too close to an open flame.
The front of the building was destroyed.

Seven people, including a firefighter, were injured. None of the injuries were serious.

(Copyright 2006 WABC-TV)

It turns out that driving through the scene of an explosion as it is happening is much more dramatic than seeing it in print in the news.

There are some things to remember:

1. When your dog or friend's dog starts a non-stop whining session at you (and this coming from a dog who never whines) when you're putting on your shoes to go out - PAY ATTENTION.
Animals usually know something you don't - like say, when you're going to be driving admist an explosion. In retrospect, I'm now certain that Sabi was telling us "you're going out into danger. I want you to stay home."

2. It's very hard to wrap your mind around something as it is going on because the brain doesn't honestly think the things flying at the car are pieces of blown out glass but rather, buckets of ice that someone's tossing at you.

3. Beetchie remains level-headed in times of emergency.

4. Cellphones are wonderful things that can be used to help others in case of emergency. This is especially important to all the people who were standing around gawking instead of using theirs to call 911. Ass-hats.

And when she reads this, no... I do not hold you responsible for whatever went down in Brooklyn. And yes, it won't make me want to come to Brooklyn any less because it could have happened anywhere. As you know, I never want to come out to Brooklyn anyway. Har Har. Kidding. Please don't beat me and take my stuff making my Brooklyn experience complete... (kidding again! really!)
Also, don't listen to the MSI song after which I've named this blog entry but if you do, when you hear Little Jimmy Urine screaming "Brooklyn, you ain't nothing!" just remember I have no control over what he says!

5. We have decided that we need more Thailand voodoo dolls of the guard series.

Why do my Fridays always end up with my either being in serious pain, unable to eat, overly stressed, depressed and/or now in some sort of explosion? My Fridays have been cursed for a year now. Someone hates me or is working some serious voodoo but AHA! I'm now one step ahead... which reminds me: Beetchie, we also need to invest in more dolls of the punishment & cure series.

Why are my day-offs never real ones? And when do I take an actual vacation?

I am thankful that Beetchie and I were able to do a good deed and that we were unharmed because the fact of the matter is, it could have been incredibly worse. There are so many scenarios that could have taken place but did not and it's best to not think about it.

However, I think something's trying to stop me from getting to Muse on August 3rd. I can't die until after the concert...and after Matt puts his ring on my finger. And I get his guitar from the dumpster.
Note to self and Beetchie - we need dolls of the love series. I already have the first part of the plan: Spider Boy. Heh Heh Heh Heh...

I need to blog!

I need to do a lot of things
1. Revamp fauxanga characters (especially that Van Joshua)
2. Finish Tales of Phantasia
3. Blog about Arizona once I get the pictures and new camera

But I HAD to come on and blog about this, if only as a reminder to myself of how damned funny the situation is and so that I may have a good laugh a few months from now when I'm bored and decide to re-read the blog:

The Mongolian has been mentoring some kids.
Today was the last day of mentoring said kids.
The kind-hearted Mongolian went happily to the complex with tons of candy to give the kids on their last session with her.
The kids were not there.
Apparently the kids were on a field trip at Chelsea Piers and everyone neglected to let the Mongolian know...
Poor Mongolian ran down to Chelsea Piers in distress looking for her kids with her books and candy in bag when she could have been studying.

Hilarious and yet so sad...

Oh crap, what is this song I'm listening to... ("It's On Random!!")
Oh.

Next!
"Lavos' Theme" - Yasunori Mitsuda, The Chrono Trigger Soundtrack.

Sharks

Everyone who knows me, knows that I love sharks. I would not love to be in the water with a shark but this shark is on my list of awesome:

Mike Delph, left, and Dr. Martin Arostegui, right, of Coral Gables, Fla. hold a 385-pound lemon shark caught in early March near the Marquesas Keys, west of Key West, Fla. Bring The Pain...

My focus is all crocused.
Mosh pits apparently can do that to you as well as make you hurt days later(ow ow ow ow!!!) as I now know.
It's true that you learn something new every day... and that is what I've been learning since May 11th.
Day 2 after the fact.
Thank you, Mindless Self Indulgence.

Despite the lack of movement without copious amounts of pain in the arms, I love MSI!

And now for a list of 1. Things that went just plain wrong at the concert. 2. Things that could have gone from bad to worse. And 3. Things that were OH so right!:

Just plain wrong - People who smell BEFORE the concert starts. I'm not sure how that works exactly but it's SCARY.
could have gone from bad to worse - Said smelly people that could have been near me AFTER the concert leading to events that could have been SCARIER.

Just plain wrong - Non-conformists, judgmental 'know-it-alls'.
OH so right! - Little Jimmy Urine telling them that "if you guys all died right now, Hot Topic would go out of business."
could have gone from bad to worse - thank goodness I wasn't wearing any of my Hot Topic gear that day...har har.

Just plain wrong - The shock at how small the Avalon is and standing and waiting for MSI from 6.30 - 9 p.m. amongst that crazy crowd of assholes, even though the ticket said the show started at 8. I was getting agitated but it wasn't that bad because...
OH so right! - Jess and Beetchie would break out in the occasional dancing during the dj music session before the show (And The Cheat did not spin those tunes nor did he do the light show). Also, I did enjoy the little ghetto white fan set up for Kitty . That amused me for some reason.

Just plain wrong - The Mosh Pit at the beginning of the set. It was CHAOS. Feeling like you're going to fall with 20 people on top of you is not good times and never gets easier on the nerves even after the 5th occurrence.
could have gone from bad to worse - my neck being broken because it sure felt like it at one point but did not happen thanks to Beetchie and Jesse because they ensured that no one messed with me.
OH so right! - Beetchie in the pit, tearing it up like nobody's business! There was something about someone grabbing me then Beetchie grabbing that person and tossing him off of me then grabbing me to her to make sure I was alright. And after the initial insanity of the Pit, why did I actually enjoy shoving people around once I could move? Probably because they deserved it. Stupid MFs!

I was happy once I got pushed out of the Pit and managed to moved off to the side. I can always boast about being in a Pit from this day forth (and what a Pit!) but I was quite content watching the show rather than watching my back.

Here's the awesome setlist (except it should be noted that I have only the first 2 songs and last song in the order it should be. The 3 songs before the last I'm a bit fuzzy as to if they were actually played but I think at least two of them were. Everything else was played that night but not necessarily in that order. Hey, it's amazing I even remember all this...):

Shut Me Up
Diabolical
Golden I
Tornado
Uncle
Tornado
Backmask
Two Hookers
Kill the Rock
Bring The Pain
Faggot
Stupid MF
Molly
1989
London Bridge
Bitches
What Do They Know? (My favourite MSI Song!!!! I was hella happy)
Bullshit
Tom Sawyer
Step Up, Ghetto Blaster
Planet of the Apes
Last Time I Tried To Rock Your World
Straight To Video
(oh and some random metal power ballad of the 80's that Jimmy lipsync'd to after my cutie bassist Lynn Z dived off the balcony and crowd surfed her way to the front of the stage - SHE ROCKS!!!!!)

Here are some of the memorable quotes and good time performances for the evening:

From Steve, Righ? : at the start of the set "Are we going to start the 'how many times will Steve puke tonight collection'? No!!! Now SHUT THE FUCK UP!" And then straight into "Shut Me Up", it was fantastic!!!!

From Jimmy:

"Stop looking for porn and googling your full names!"

"You over there! (pointing to some random dude) You look really gay. Get out of here because there's only a certain level of gay allowed in this place and I fill that quota."

"How many of your blogs have I not read yet? I'm serious, I'm lurking around on the internet."

"I say we should bring the whole East Coast/West Coast gang wars back. The next time you see someone wearing a Tupac shirt, punch him in the face and tell him the ghost of Biggie made you do it!"

I got props from Beetchie who was impressed by my rapping skills. I loved the performance on this because Jimmy rapped half the song without music with the band coming in strong at the first "is it real son"

The conversation with the puppet wolf was great especially when Jimmy knocked him over the head with the microphone for nodding a no to Jimmy's request to do the Snoopy Dance. The Snoopy Dance itself was funny as all hell. "...He's (the puppet wolf) got more friends on MySpace than I do."

The best performance was Jimmy making us his giant Nintendo Controller for use during "Tom Sawyer":

Point UP for Jimmy to Jump up and down in one spot
<-- Point LEFT for Jimmy to move Left like a robot
--> Point RIGHT for Jimmy to move Right like a robot
A Turn the fist around and around and he'd crazily run around the stage
B Suck on your finger for him to do a sexy pose

Oh, "but no Nintendo Power Glove because it does not work with this system."

All of these good times and more lasted a little over an hour despite the length of the setlist because if you know MSI, you know that their songs are usually no longer than 2 minutes. However, that one hour was one of the best I've had in my short concert history.
Jess, Beetchie and I got their autographs at the end of the show. Sadly there were no photos taken with them although we could have with no trouble since they are cool enough to do that for their fans. I think Beetchie was quite happy getting her ticket signed, Jess getting her shirt and stomach signed and I'm happy with my signed t-shirt.

And let it be known that I love that Jimmy Urine
Damn! I should have gotten HIS name tattooed to my arm. Having "URINE" on my arm would be much cooler than "ALEX". At least I'd remember why I had "URINE"...

Currently listening to the band that has the most songs in my Top 25 Most Listened to on the Ipod including the number 1 most played: "London Bridge" - Mindless Self Indulgence and Patty's constant bitchin' about how I don't love her today because I'm here blogging instead of sitting by her while she plays "Harvest Moon".

My Brush With Evil.

It was on Saturday last.
There I was standing at the street cookie stand in Chinatown. I bought said good time cookies only to turn around and see one of my enemies.
I quickly turned around because where there is one asshole, there lurks another.
Sure enough second asshole comes STRAIGHT towards the cookie stand because of course, she wants some of those too. Ugh.
But thankfully this brush with evil was merely a close call. Still, hearing your enemy ordering 2 bags of cookies is a scary thing.
I'm very pleased I escaped that torture because tonight is one of those nights where it is re-affirmed that those two are truly disgusting, stupid people.
I don't know why it's justified for anyone to bash another person based on the fact that they are gay. And I don't know what right people have using derogatory terms to describe homosexuals.
And oh, the things I can go on about relating to those two but I need to get to bed.
Hopefully I'll have no brushes with evil tomorrow of the "I'm going to get squished in the mosh pit" variety at the MSI concert.
I am so nervous...

Random

Did anyone else notice that Kelly Clarkson's "Walk Away" sounds suspiciously like Tony! Toni! Tone!'s "If I Had No Loot"?

Also, that new song by Fort Minor "Where'd You Go" is horrendous.
I really don't have much against Shinoda for the most part...but that song irritates me. And it doesn't help when HOchie 1 calls me up just so I can hear it playing in the background.
I hate it when I might have to support Mike Shinoda ONLY because he did a collaboration with Kenna. I suppose though that I'd really be supporting Kenna... yes. That's it.

Finally, I would like to thank Ticketmaster for allowing me to be arsed out of seeing Radiohead.
But I won't be a little crybaby about this one. And that's only due to the fact that I can just hear Thom in my head taunting me.
And I am not Scott Tennorman.

Now there's a band. A band that is thoroughly disturbing me right now but they're hella' awesome. I am most impressed by Maynard's vocal work and musically, they're amazing.

Pay Back is Fun!

Today TheHOchies and friends trekked to the movies to see "Slither".
If anyone was forced to watch that...sorry excuse for a movie otherwise known as scary movie 4, by people who call themselves friends, then be sure to go see "Slither" as your choice of movie payback. This is what TheHOchies did and it sure worked out for us. That movie was good times and the end song which I'm currently listening to is hilarious. Ahhh, good times...

Lucky, Lucky... You're So Lucky

I had every intention of writing a vile blog bashing ticketmaster yet again at the end of this week regarding "the Incident". And that would have been today, well - April 14th (it's now April 15th as I write this). You know, the day I was supposed to be at the Franz Ferdinand/Death Cab for Cutie concert but got screwed out of it... yes. THAT incident.

Wednesday came.

And like all Wednesdays, and any other day for that matter, I checked my e-mail in the morning.

"Oh look...e-mail from Franz Ferdinand. It's probably going to be some bragging about how fantastic touring with DCFC is. Wonderful...this saves me the trouble of googling their website so I can torture myself. 'FF announces secret show'. Oh. Ok, whatever. Let's see the e-mail content here. ...eye twitch... 'secret show in NYC this week, details to come!' ...eye twitch..."

Wednesday afternoon - no details on the show. "Damn, I know once I get home they're going to announce a 9 p.m. show!" I got home and quickly checked e-mail - nothing.

Thursday came.

Frantically checked e-mail at 7.26 a.m. and lo and behold, details! "'Free show at the Hammerstein on April 14th!' YES!!!!!!!!!!!! 'Must go to Tower Records in the Village to get wristband. And get there early to ensure success due to limited quantities!' FUDGE!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Thursday morning at work, penned e-mail to supervisor and boss:
Please be advised I have an appointment this afternoon and will be leaving at 1.15

1.45 p.m. - is the time I actually left office to meet Beetchie down on 8th.
There were no problems getting the wristband except some shadiness went down that involved our profile printouts from MySpace being taken away from us...
And I picked up some cream puffs for the peeps at work because you know, if I didn't get through with the FF deal, I could at least get the best goddamned cream puffs eva' out of the whole deal.

Friday:
Hammerstein @ 2p.m.
in the line 2 p.m. - 3.25 p.m.
herded into Hammerstein - 3.25 p.m.
FREE (take that ticketmaster bitches) Franz Ferdinand Concert from the second row from the stage on the dancefloor - 3.45

The 50 minute setlist:

Michael
Auf Ausche
I'm Your Villain (IT ROCKED!!!!!)
Tell Her Tonight (Because we all wanted to hear Nick sing. I think Nick wanted to slug Alex for putting him on the spot. Truthfully, I think FF duped us into thinking that's what we wanted to hear.)
Van Tango (this after deliberation and suggestions from the crowd as to what song they should play. Someone wanted the Gwen Stefani cover but Alex didn't know the words since he had them in front of him the last time he did. Yeah, I've no clue what the hell these people were talking about. Then "All For You, Sophia" was suggested but they didn't remember how to play their own song so that idea was shot)
Do You Want To
L.Wells (new song! or at least one that we have not gotten in the U.S.)
Walk Away (This song was for Bob and everyone who loved him)
Evil and a Heathen
Darts of Pleasure (some kids got to go up on stage for this one. I couldn't jump the barrier to join them 'cause my ass would have fallen and been broken)
Outsiders (it was the one song I wanted to see them perform and it was superfantastisch)

My boys have great personalities. The show was extremely intimate. It was more of a jam session/private concert. With the guys chatting with us and each other, it felt as though we had all known each other and been old high school friends from good old days back in Scotland. All of us except for the 10 year old in front - she would not have been born yet. Perhaps she could best be described in this scenario as someone's bastard child? Whose? Meh.

And as if all that wasn't enough to make up for "the Incident"... I got to wrap my arm around Alex Kapranos, gaze lovingly up at him as he posed for a picture (yeah, he's hot and I was temporarily insane but only for a micro second I swear!!!!) and got my free poster signed by him. And thank you to Beetchie for making Alex take pity on me. "Awww". Don't 'aww' me just because Beetchie told you I was shy! ...Apparently there's truth in her saying that she cannot take me anywhere. How embarrassing. And now to quickly distract from my last statement - how cool was it that he came out to chat with the fans after the show especially since he had another one to do not long after?

Had I been thinking clearly (remember people, micro second of extreme insanity or what I like to call stupidity) I would have had him sign my arm and gotten it tattooed forever. I know I always said I'd reserve that for someone I really love if I ever met them but hey, I wouldn't mind having "ALEX" engraved into my arm. And so what if 20 years later I wouldn't have a clue who "ALEX" is...

So I didn't get to see Death Cab but that's okay. I was always in it for the FF though it would have been nice to hear DCFC play "Title and Registration" and hence reason 40 that Ticketmaster is evil.

The only downer about this whole adventure is that HOchie 1 was not with me.

I know this blog makes no sense. This is what we call, "I wanted to be in bed 4 hours ago".

Ever since the day after VD

I've been having a string of bad luck. Oh, VD = Valentine's Day.

I already blogged about the FF/Death Cab BS. Oh, BS = Bullsh*t.

I'm not really over that whole mess especially since Fuse insists on showing Franz Ferdinand and Death Cab specials every chance they get. "Down with Ticketmaster!!!" Ok.

Anyway, April Fool's Day came. At Midday, I sat here and bought my tickets (down with ticketmaster! A 20 dollar concert turned out to be 25.80 thanks to handling fees or some BS) to Mindless Self Indulgence.
Fun times, right?
Sure...If the club at which they're going to perform re-opens before May 11th after being shut down via court order for the selling of drugs in that church(The Avalon is some kind of former church or some bizarre such nonsense)!

Sandy Cheeks told me things won't get better until after April because she just senses it. So far she's right. I'm hoping/feeling things will get better by say Wednesday or Mid-Month but I'm not nearly as good a soothsayer as Sandy Cheeks.

Nor can I karate chop a xylophone like nobody's buisness. You just don't mess with peeps who can do that.

The Most Awesome Cat Ever.

Crazy Cat Terrorizes Connecticut Town

FAIRFIELD, Conn. (AP) -- Residents of the neighborhood of Sunset Circle say they have been terrorized by a crazy cat named Lewis. Lewis for his part has been uniquely cited, personally issued a restraining order by the town's animal control officer.

"He looks like Felix the Cat and has six toes on each foot, each with a long claw," Janet Kettman, a neighbor said Monday. "They are formidable weapons."

The neighbors said those weapons, along with catlike stealth, have allowed Lewis to attack at least a half dozen people and ambush the Avon lady as she was getting out of her car.

Some of those who were bitten and scratched ended up seeking treatment at area hospitals.

Animal Control Officer Rachel Solveira placed a restraining order on him. It was the first time such an action was taken against a cat in Fairfield.

In effect, Lewis is under house arrest, forbidden to leave his home.

Solveira also arrested the cat's owner, Ruth Cisero, charging her with failing to comply with the restraining order and reckless endangerment.

Poor Kitty under house arrest. It reminds me of the time Lucy Goosey was placed under house arrest at the petting zoo for nipping at children.

Though I have to say, this doesn't really look the face of a cat that's too concerned:

He actually looks quite wicked but something tells me everyone who got attacked didn't get a chance to see the face of evil but only a fluffy black and white ball bounding off to its next victim.

This is expected though from an animal that lives in a state that is part of the Axis of Evil.

Don't worry, Kitty! I'll bust you out!

Currently listening to: "White Lines (Don't Do it)" from the Shaun of the Dead soundtrack

It's Time to Play The Music, It's Time to Light The Lights, It's Time to Meet The Muppets on the Muppet Show Tonight...

X and I saw a Live Action Muppet!

We always thought Janice was a vegetarian, goddamned dirty hippie until we saw her eating copious amounts of pork dim sum in Chinatown today...

And I swear this was before the turkey testicle, so I was not hallucinating. And X didn't have it, so she wasn't hallucinating. In the interest of privacy and protection of the Muppet we are unable post said picture here.

About that TT... We shall think of it this way: If I were to be stranded on a deserted island surrounded by a life time supply of turkey testicles as my only sustenance, I would rather die.
The taste was not the problem but the popping sure was. Ew.

Kenka's was a bit of a disappointment today. I will never eat pike again. The scallops were far from buttery smothered grilled goodness and the plum wine tasted like maraschino cherry syrup. If I wanted to drink cherry wine, I would have ordered cherry wine. I believe the order was for PLUM wine. Eh, maybe I'm just not a plum wine connoisseur which is quite possible.

The sad part about the whole thing was that in an effort to end dinner on a high note, I had to eat the rest of my salad.

Salad.

All in all, it was alright times. It was definitely good times that I got to see and spend time my friend of 12 years (who I had not seen in about 5), bond with X, see Marie and hang with everyone's favourite Beetchie.

Currently playing: Headache from bitter cold wind that blazed my tail today.
