Just So It Is Clear To All

The HOchies have been having a rough time of it as of late.

We went to Pongsri for dinner and drinks on Friday and as we were coming in, Gina Gershon was going out.

Quote Or 2 to H1:

"Man, if she wasn't so fat, I'd think she was Amy Winehouse".

Let it be known that The HOchies are unashamed.

Wii Fit? More Like, Wii Fat

The HOchies found out yesterday that the new stay in shape or whatever the hell it is game for the Wii, Wii Fit is going to cost more than the damned console.

At $399.00, the Japanese have reaffirmed that they hate us and wish for us stoopid Americans to die because we are poor and can't afford to be 'fit'.

We're in a recession for eff's sake!

Edit 4/25/08: Clearly, Amazon like to keed because they switched the price. It's $90.00 and has been pre-ordered.

In other gaming news, does anyone have not so fond memories of those weed thingies in Final Fantasy VII? They'd show up in a field on the outskirts of Midgar, sometimes hang out with Chocobos I think, right when you left Midgar for the first time.

I have discovered they are my most hated enemies in Crisis Core. While I often wish they would look like this:

Or even this,

Sadly, this is what they really look like to Zack and by extension, me:

And while that may not be terribly horrendous to those of you who don't understand, I can assure you...they really are the stuff of nightmares. Curse you too, Hysteric Voices!

Finally to end this nerd rant, where are all the effin' fat chocobo feathers when you need them?

Memorable conversations of the past 2 days:

Raisins Alex: This new Pope isn't very "grandfather-ish" like the previous Pope.
Or 2: But at least he's smart. He's refusing a dinner with Bush.
Raisins Alex: Yeah, he knows nothing can absolve that man's sins. 'Gel oulla here, Boosh!!'

Or 2: Notice how the Pope isn't having a mass in Crooklyn?
H1: No one wants to go there.
Or 2: Yeah, but people in Crooklyn probably need the most blessings. Also, he's not going to NJ. As scary as this Pope looks, he really is clever.
H1: Yep, no one wants to go New Jersey either. Even the Pope knows.
Or 2: Yeah, if only bands would realise this too.

Or 2: Mountain Time exists! ::searches wiki:: There. You don’t believe Wiki?! There it is!
H1: I still don't understand it. What places in the world use mountain time? Arizona, it says. They also do not observe daylight savings, but the Hopi Nation within Arizona does, but the Navajo Nation within the Hopi Nation does.
Or 2: They all like to keed!

The Hatred For NJ Just Keeps On Growing

For some reason, concert promoters, bands or who the eff ever have been opting to go to New Jersey to put on their shows instead of NY.

I'm not sure why NYC's being blacklisted but it's damned annoying.

I've resigned myself to the fact that I will never see Stone Temple Pilots because goodness knows volatile, lovable Scott will quit the band in no time and mouth off to them like he did to Velvet Revolver (and the rest of STP, back in the day).

I will never see Radiohead. Those mothereffers are playing a festival in what they call "NY". I know you're not from here, RH but that's just damned insulting. Get a freakin' hold of yourselves! You can't fool me and Google maps! Tch. I mean, I didn't actually verify this with google maps but eff a festival anyway! And your four dates over there are making me reeeaaaally pissy right now.

The Nintendo Wii is also on my shit list. How dare they have a Mario Kart Wii tour go to Jersey and not NYC?! Okay, so maybe they'll have a big event closer to the date at Nintendo World but still! Not that I would ever go visit a Nintendo Tour but it's not right, anyway!

Maybe people in NJ are stupidly not playing the wii because they didn't pre-order.

After all, people in NJ are pretty stupid.

Especially you, Frass...Especially you.

More Zarnyx?

Yeah, more Zarnyx.

Sketched/Wacom'ed really quickly, and uncaring like. I'm in that kind of mood. Tired and Meh.

He still came out to my liking.

That's the kind of pretty and scary ass he is, even if it doesn't quite look like him. But the personality is oozing Zarnyx.

A List

I've a lot of 'nothing' going on these days.

For my own benefit, it's a list of things I need to do, get or whatever:

1. Finish Crisis Core. This game is consuming me and depressing me. I need to finish it soon and stop prolonging the inevitable. Zack is dead. I've known this for 10 years now. I just need to say goo'day now. Also, Sephy already fell in the lifestream - what's the point of playing anymore?

2. Finish Patapon. The Great Znyx shall return soon.

3. Get my hands on blank dvds - I've some Monster to umm, secure. Also, back up music for myself and umm, secure for other people (TD5, Titi N. etc).

4. Forth coming albums I am supporting but will need to write down because I will forget - Illinois, Tokyo Police Club. And for sometime in the not immediate future - "The Good, The Bad and the Queen".

5. Draw the ideas floating around in my head. They're all wearing the same clothes, group shot, try to not let Bleach and FFVII influence your style too much. Hard to do but damn it, try.

6. Finish watching Jigoku Shoujo Futakomori.

7. Finish watching Mnemosyne no Musume-Tachi. It's bullshit but only 6 episodes. Keep up with it.

8. Keep up with xxxHolic and go crazy weekly when it's not subbed until 5 days later. Sorry Bughie J.

9. Finish watching X TV. Geez, I've been trying since 2003. Remember, they all die. You already know that, it's inevitable. Just watch the damned thing already. You can't save Sorata!

10. Keep bugging H1 to watch Naruto. H1, I just threw this in here to see if you're paying attention, also...to get you to watch Naruto. Need to keep with Naruto. The last one I watched was episode 47 I think.

11. Organize the Itunes Library - including volume adjustment on the Editors. Fix that. Get pictures, artist names. Listen to Death Note. Listen to Naruto. Listen to STP's later albums. Praise Scott Weiland for being crazy. Har Har.

12. Look into getting Mario Party for the Wii for cheap after Chrissy Lee's arrival is confirmed.

13. Check frequently for the Bleach OST 3.

14. Force myself to go to work on some Saturdays. Must psyche self up from now. Gotta do it. That or stay late on Fridays. That's sounding better in theory. Ugh. Gotta do something. Also, stop complaining. I'm fortunate. Things aren't as bad as I think.

15. Take Video of Boo-Head while he's "sleeping" and in general. High priority.

16. Finish Mushishi. I'll stop putting it off! Or so I say...

17. Make more lists. Or as H1 would say, stop making them. Ha.

18. Ignore Beetchie if she comments on this to add "get presents and/or give money to Beetchie" to the list.

19. Get some kind of xxxHolic paraphernalia. Yep. Curse yourself for not doing it in Japan and are now having a hell of a time trying to find some. Meh. A cellphone strap will do. Gotta outfit the PSP with something loveable and fitting.

April Fools, Adventures on the Street and Misadventures at the Train Station

H1 and I have walked past Rockefeller Center countless times and have often been forcefully mini-concerted upon.
There have been countless times that we cursed people out for sidestopping instead of sidewalking, 2 times we've walked the devil's path through throngs of 9 year old to 37 year olds screaming for a not yet legal Chris Brown, and we are currently dreading the sea of umbrellas that will assault our senses on a sunny day in June when Man Hands Rihanna plays (Frass, are you taking note?) - we can only hope she gets rained out much like NKOTB did yesterday.

NBC's Today Show played a trick on NYC on April Fool's Day by actually having a good band perform a mini-concert. We actually stopped for a while. I got a picture with camera eye and LO, which isn't as good:

See that bald head? Michael Stipe, people! R.E.M.! I've not R.E.M.'d in a decade and forgot just how good that is. They sounded amazing as expected. Memories…ahhh.

The first week of April proved rather eventful, in addition to an R.E.M. sighting.

We spotted an April Fool's joke - and it was plastered all over Grand Central Terminal, and surprisingly tied in quite nicely to this week's episode of South Park:

Also found in Grand Central 2 warm mornings later, was someone who apparently just got back from Montreal:

Those Canadians, they're really not my friends, buddy.

This week was also Scotland Week in NYC.

A cart half an hour late on a rainy Friday morning made for an empty stomach of sheep's stomach.

I at least got a picture of the damned cart that was giving out free haggis of which I had none.

But H1, thanks a lot for putting my name out there on a blog for all to see.

You are so not my pal.

Who Wanted To Be A Member of The Angeal or Genesis Fan Club Anyway?

I'm part of the Silver Elite.

Here's my first e-mail:

"The Scent of Silver Winds"

Dear Members of the Silver Elite:

In this update, we present another piece of Sephiroth trivia--the secrets to his beautiful long hair. The hair products he uses are of the highest grade, made and supplied by the Shinra Company. He seems to use one whole bottle of both shampoo and conditioner every time he washes his hair. They are scented with thirteen kinds of perfumes, including Rose and Vanilla. Apparently, the scent in the air after Sephiroth tosses his hair changes daily!

Freaks.

Sephiroth doesn't use product! His hotness is natural. Or Jenova infused. Whatever!

Currently listening to: whatever's playing in Crisis Core. Back to it.

Monster

Monster, one of the greatest anime I've seen in my short anime viewing lifetime

with my beloved, Dr. Tenma

"tomorrow will be a good day," but not without the trauma filling 73 episodes first. His face went from bright to what you see here... he made me really depressed sometimes. There was so much emotion captured in his animation, that it was brilliant.

My cutie, Dieter!

Hopeful and sweet - I always worried when Dieter was on the screen. Operation Impending Doom III commence (I know, wrong series but still!).

Grimmer

Where the eff was the Magnificent Steiner when you needed that ass?! Look at that smile... there'll be a picnic someday.

The Monster from "Monster"

What's not to like about it? It's cute! Look at how it scales walls! Har har.

and just kind of stands there.

Rabbit, Rabbit, Rabbit. Hare Hare Hare.

It just occurred to me that maybe it's "here here here" or "hear hear hear" (this one doesn't really make sense) and that perhaps all these years I've been thinking and saying it incorrectly hence our not winning the lottery. I'll have to verify but until that time...

Here's to another failed month, then.

It's also April Fool's Day. This isn't a day we play tricks upon or get tricked upon by others since no one I know really cares about it except those Gmail/Google Conquerors of the Future World. Set your custom time to that, Gmail and embark on your journey out in space, Google.

H1 and I aren't worthy of being Virgles.

Here's H1's result:

Okay, let's just get this over with quickly, like ripping off a medical adhesive: you did not do well on this test. You are not, by all available evidence, well suited to be a Virgle Pioneer, or any sort space explorer, really, or for that matter, any profession which requires leaving behind your creature comforts, your nice warm bed, your lovely wardrobe, your gourmet meals, your high-end home theater, your friends and family -- oh man, what have we gotten ourselves into here? We're kind of freaking out ourselves, actually. Help! We changed our minds! We don't want to go! [Clicks heels.] There's no place like home! There's no place like home! There's no place like -- [ Long silence. ] Hello. Still there? We're sorry about that unpleasantness with our previous reviewer. We can assure you, you tested just fine and would make a fine Pioneer; all you have to do is submit your video here.

I'm getting spam mail from Yuffie.

This is well hilarious on its own but coupled with classics such as "There was nothing but a roster in that HR (Treasure) Chest! Ooh, this is making me so mad! >:[[[ ", it's just damned greatness.

Currently listening to: the PSP and whatever this song name is from the Church in Crisis Core. Back to my missions since I refuse to further my progress in this game any more now that that bitch Aerith has reared her stupid face. Ditz. Ugh, she makes me so mad! >:[[[

Edit - Update from the last letter: "Nasty pictures! Ewww!!!! Sickos! Are Shinra employees trained to put TRASH in their treasure chests? :p That's it! Everyone in Shinra's going to get it someday!"

You show them skinny little monkey, uh...I mean, Yuffie. And you will.

A Sunday With the HOchieS

H1 always says we're recovering catholics but that doesn't stop us from hiding Easter eggs from the booboos or partaking in an "Easter" dinner. Not that Jeebus had anything to do with chocolate eggs or rabbits and fights over stuffing but well, whatever.

H1 and I baked a blasted 'Jamaican' Marble Cake (unintentionally Rastafari! See two blog entries below).

It looked pretty good until it was discovered some sort of pre-historic animal left its mark on our cake,

We decided to cover up the evidence later on so as to not alarm the other HOchieS,

(I don't know why H1 furthered the irie by icing it with irie colours. She hates me, clearly)

It was all rather mysterious but it turned out it was just a good looking chameleon:

It's no longer an obsession.

The Japanese still hate me but I took one from their fold and that is its number.

After a bit of setbacks, selling bits of my blood (Hellsing, Niea_7, Trigun, Aqua Aqua, Graffitti Kingdom, Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex, Samurai Legend Musashi and Ape Escape: Pumped and Primed - you all served me well, except maybe you GK. You were just ass), frozen accounts and dreading a forthcoming bill, I've a semi-functional piece of Final Fantasy VII history.

It's working completely but semi to me because we're in the US and I can't reap the benefits of Japanese TV. Or can I? Hmmm.

I got it from one of the happiest places on earth - Ebay, all wrapped up in the entertainment section of a Hong Kong newspaper:

On the back was the flyer for an appliance sale which I found to be not much of a sale and I guess others thought the same:

"Here's what I think of your sale!"

I do find it very interesting though that within 8 hours of my getting my package from Hong Kong, I got incredibly ill. Coinky Dinky? Or something else...

H1, I was only keed. Don't you dare even think it and shut your goat-assy mouth! I still have a cough!

Crisis Core Limited Edition Japanese PSP Pack

The Japanese continue to hate on me. Do you see that eff? A tiny buster sword and a shoe box! A Shoe box!!!!

And of course, a beautifully designed PSP limited to 77,777 units and it features the love of my life for 10 years - Sephiroth. ::sigh:: All we get is a red PSP with Kratos. Once again, what the eff.

Vayne Solidor

I am not really obsessing over him in a good way, I'm more concerned by the state of his hair. He is my 2nd least fav. FF villain. Honestly, there was nothing cool about him and crimping your hair was so 80s. Tch.

Pari Pari, Kushya Kushya, Paki Paki, Gokkun

I've finished watching one of the greatest anime ever. More on it later but for now, enjoy a clip of greatness from Monster:

This is what I will do to H1 tomorrow after the patapon-ing.

By the way, H1, look at how cute the monster is coming down the wall.

A Warning...

If anyone Patapons me, I will Baki Baki them.

Can I even do that?
